But I only intend to be on it for one more month, as the doctor said it is used for three months only, as the body gets used to it and you may stop losing weight. I was given phentermine 15 mg by a "doctor" at a weight loss clinic. I'm a bit skeptical because of all the negative reviews I have read. First thing first stop taking the pill your allergic to it !! I have token the pill for weight loss a few years ago back . The most horrible experience I had dealing with hives that dident go away until 6 weeks. I had to do a body cleans detox . All I ate was lettuce cucumber olive oil a couple crackers very little chicken cooked at home and very little tuna . The meats was organic. And water only to drink. Had to quit smoking aswell. Very strick bland diet.
I was having much difficulty losing weight so I went to a Weight Loss Clinic, where they perscribed phentermine, hydrochlorthiazide and a fiber pill with calcium. I was wondering how dangerous this is and if I could/should stop my antidressant/anxiety medications abruptly or ween myself of them while I am on the weight loss pills.
Pill are usually the last resort. Just cut off juck food and stay active. to keep yourself motivated have a cheat day ones a month; if not is going to get really boring. Btw the pill that "increase your metabolism" is marketing ********. The metabolism you are born with it will chance during puperty, after that you will stay with it for the rest of your life, it does not increase if you take pills. You can help you metabolism, yes. but not increase the rate.

weight loss. You could ask your doctor for a referral to a dietician if this is
a possibility. That's what I did. The dietician was very helpful. Don't know if
this is true, but I've heard diet pills can be dangerous because of the ingredients in the diet pills. I'm not familiar with slimquick or slimquick hoodia but as I mentioned I am suspicious of all diet pills. Loosing weight too quickly is also not good.

A about a month ago i started taking Addipex , a weight loss pill. After 2 weeks of taking it i had the most horribale panic attack you can imagine. I had loss vision, consiciousness, and since of reality. I felt like i died. I cant even thinking about it. I was in the hosiptal for 2 days. They did all sorts of tests, but of course everything came back fine. They said it was a allergic reaction. The only thing with that is, i was of the pills for 2 weeks. That makes no sense.
i am really excited about my weight loss. the only negative aspects are slight headaches and if you do not take the phentermine early enough in the morning it will keep you up at night because it gives you so much energy. and the triamterene is a water pill. most of my weight was water retention. guys if you really want to loose the weight fast this is the way to go!!
Does anyone here have experience with Phentermine? My doctor let me talk him into it for weight loss last June. It's supposed to be only taken for 8-12 weeks, but since I've kept losing weight and my blood pressure stays low, he's kept refilling my prescription.
I take 37.5 mg once a day. I know this drug is a stimulant, etc. and it can become addictive. Every once in a while-- like today-- I don't take it, just to see if *not* taking it bugs me.
You make a great point that weight loss medication like phentermine is not a long term weight loss solution. If you do go back to old habits, you might expect to gain back the weight that you lost. But the good news is that you're in a good starting place and you are still motivated to keep it going. Good luck!

Since being diagnosed I have started taking a half tablet of phentermine to control my appetite in an effort to lose weight. I also started taking birth control again. My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. I have lost about 8 pounds in the last month since taking the phentermine but i dont feel like I am losing enough weight for how little i have been eating.
