peg intron ready pen

Just got. Call to say the pegysis ready pen is on recall. Anyone else run into this problem?

Ive been on peg /riba for 12 weeks .now with a new carrier ,they wont cover the pen part of the treatment .all help groups tell me ,I make too much for assistance . Is this the end of my treatment ? I cant afford what they want .

I don’t know which meds you’re taking; Pegasys or PEG-Intron, but you might consider calling their patient hotline and bring this up with their educating nurse. From the years I’ve been in here, I don’t believe an *excursion* to room temperature for a day or two will break down the proteins involved. Northern hemisphere=cool ambient temperatures? Better to confirm this with someone authoritative, though :o). Can you ask the flight attendant to put the container in the on board refrigerator?

I asked my doctor for pegasys over peg intron. He addressed my concerns and told me sx's for me would be similar with either drug and kinetics were similar for both with regard to initial suppression of the virus. I had read about peaks and troughs with peg intron. He said that was dated info. Ok, so we decided to stay with peg intron. Now...about dosage. Can anyone explain why pegasys is one dose fits all and peg intron is weight based? I will get 80 mcg with weight at 114 lbs.

I just took my first shot of Peg Intron Friday night, and I got pretty sick, but thank God after I stayed in bed the next day I felt better. Do these reactions happen every time you inject it or does your body eventually get use to it. Also my viral load is only 300 and I have genotype 1. Can anyone give me more information about my Hep C being cured after this treatment or does it ever get cured?

t have as good as a viral load drop as I did with the Peg-Intron. I had more sides with the Peg-Intron but a bigger viral load drop. I hope for you, that all the rest of your treatment day are sides free.

He uses Pegasys and my GI doctor (whom I love) uses peg-intron. My question for all peg-intron users is how bad have your sx been? The doctor I saw today said pegasys seems to have less sx, but of course not all people react the same way. Well, if your HBV DNA wasn't all that high before your Peg Intron, it's not surprising that you would go UND. As long as you stay HBV DNA UND on Peg Intron, your HepB is being managed well. It's obviously the desired outcome. Here's the thing, you have a timeframe for Peg Intron for HCV treatment. I think your doc will stop Peg Intron based on HCV because there's no timeframe for HBV.

I have treated 5 or 6 times, cleared only to relapse each time. Have tried intron A , peg-intron, Pegasys and 72 weeks of infergen and until 6 months ago have been on maintenance therapy. I was a stage 4 with a enlarged spleen. Last biopsy and mri came back a stage 3 and a normal size spleen.

"180" is the standard dosage for Pegasys. You state you're on "Peg Intron" which is made by a different manufacturer and dosed differently by weight. The most common forumulations of Peg Intron need to be refrigerated and I therefore assume so does yours since it was shipped in a styrofoam container. The ribavirin can be stored at room temperature. Like in your case, my ribavirin was also shipped in the styrofoam along with the peg.

I was taking Incivek, ribaviran and peg intron. I had a pre surgery physical today and my EKG came up slightly abnormal than the previous one I had before treatment. My question is can the aftermath of these drugs affect the heart? I'm supposed to have a meniscus repair done on the 27th and my cardiologist suggests I have a CT scan of my heart. My husband was much sicker taking Peg-intron than he was daily Infergen. It may be in part because he was depressed with Peg Intron but didn't take an anti depressant but did take an anti D with the Infergen. He never had a violent reaction with the Infergen but did with the first few shots of Peg -intron. He also had lots of fevers on the Peg but not on the Infergen. It just seems to vary person to person. We are getting ready to try Pegasys/Riba/Alinia.

Eight years ago when I took the SOC I was told that Pegasys, which was relatively new then was better than the Peg intron which had been available for some time. I was also told by my doctor who was treating a large number of patients at his clinic that he had observed that the Pegasys was more easily tolerated than the other drug.
