i have this strong feeling hes going to put me on another benzo like klonpin witch i took them for 12 yrs prior to the xanax...the methadone and xanax been on both of for 5 yrs the same time was put on the methadone with know problems..i take 40 mgs of methadone and avg 3 mgs of xanax aday..this controls the anxietys and panic is the worst..have had it since 1989..i dont get it much.. but when im maina nothing stops that including the xanax....

So i recently had really bad side effects to Celexa im off the medicine my doctor decided to give me paxil for my panic disorder. Does anyone know if it will interact with me taking xanax? Im not really into all these anti depressents and xanax is the only thing that calms my body down. Well i just wanna know if there safe if i take them together?

Hello I recently (3 weeks ago) switched from 40mg Paxil/day to 20mg Prozac/day. The first 3 weeks went fine with expected dizziness and nausea. But the past few days I've been experiencing depression. 1) Is this normal? Perhaps the paxil is out of my system and the prozac has not kicked in yet? It's a bit weird because I was not depressed during the last 3 weeks. I hope this goes away.. 2) How long does prozac take to fully "kick in" ? 3) I also take 2x .

Wow! 200 mgs of Zoloft and three mgs of Xanax. Have you ever blacked out before? You have to see your doctor. You may need a whole new regiment. I take Klonopin and find it to be a kinder gentler benzo. You can't just stop or switch your meds. It has to be done with your doctor's help. Slow and easy.....If you are not seeing a psyc doctor, you should consider it. They are more familiar with the types of meds you are taking.

I decided not to take the paxil because I do not feel good about it, and Im not depressed. I have taken xanax in the past and then stopped taking it. No not doing this on my own I was prescribed by my new doctor ativan paxil and a beta blocker, but at the moment taking only the ativan cause I'm still trying to work my way up to take the paxil and the xanax I used to take before all these but it's not prescribed to me it's prescribed to my grandfather Inlaw but am only taking one of those every night to help with sleep and it does.

I just went in patient for 20mg Paxil & 2mg Xanax if have taken for 10 years. The DR told me my system is drug free. I'm 2 days out of my 28 day progarm. They got me off both in the 1st 8 days & gave me other meds. My nervous system is now shaky. My Dr said it was cravings and nothing else. Anyone know how long this lasts. I have gotten so many different responses to this question and very confused. I am taking xanax for panic attacks daily .25mg 4 times day. I feel its very good but I don't like the kind of head feeling its gives me sometimes. I have taken it 2 1/2 months and either I have to stop ( I know withdraw) or switch to klonopin. I will not take any ssri's cause I don't want to start more side effects. Now, people told me klonopin is more addictive than xanax.

i never gained any weight from klonopin but why you on both they same pill benz, should not be on both are you coming off xanax all together, klonopin is a much better med and long term us .

I took Buspirone together with Paxil for a long time. I'm certainly not a doctor but when I stopped taking them both, the Paxil I had to wean off of because it's an SSRI but the Buspirone I just stopped and didn't have any problems. BUT, I would definitely consult with your doctor first to see what he/she recommends because everyone is different and certain medications you cannot just stop cold turkey. Good luck!! I have taken the two of them together with no problems. I now take Propanolol and Citolopram and still no problems. Propanolol is used to treat anxiety, high BP, cluster headaches, tremors, aids in sleeping, and maybe more. It has a short life which means it doesn't stay in your system very long, probably much like the Xanax. But they're safe together.

50 mil of Xanax and told me to make it last because she was not going to give me anymore. So far I have taken 2 pill by cutting them in half and taken only when I cannot handle it anymore. Six days into the zoloft I had to stop because my anxiety was through the roof, and it came and went in waves. I went to also see a psychologist and she told me take Paxil and also gave me rx for .5 mg xanax. As you can imagine I am very nervous about starting the paxil because of what the zoloft did to me. The last several nights I have taken the .5 mg xanax but only at bedtime.
