3142879 tn?1342977455 I have been on paxil for 4 yrs now and I lost my insurance and the cost for the meds are 40 bucks. Now I have been off my paxil for 4 days now and im miserable and I still have 2 days till I can go get my script. The zaps and irritability is whats really getting to me. Will 1 klonopin a day help with the withdrawals?
Avatar n tn I think I've had serotonin syndrome 2 x back to back with paxil withdrawls. I'm new at this site and not sure if I'm posting in the right place. I wanted to get your opinion because I am just a wreck. It all started 17 yrs ago was placed on paxil for panick attacks and it seemed to work well. I eventually around a yr ago weaned myself down from 60 to 12.5 mg it was all fine.
Avatar m tn Just today I took a first pill of Paxil (10mgs). I was just wondering what I could expect. Right now I feel terrible like I need to vomit. I am feeling extra anxious right now too. Just keep thinking something is wrong or I am having some sort of serious side effects. Is it normal to have these side effects right away? It is around noon right now and I took the first pill at 915 this morning.
Avatar n tn amino acids are a big molecule and too much is hard to excete especially if u have kidney probems..lots of water if u r on higher doses....body builders use them to the extreme and can end up having diificulties with excretion...we need only a few in high doses/but recommended doses for a while during and after detox many people who r not addicts take SAMe and 5htp for depression...many take tyrosine for energy and phenylalnine for pain and energy...
944643 tn?1418214422 s started me out on 300mg twice a day of Lithium, and 10 mg of Paxil, which I know is going to be increased, cuz I was on Paxil alone before and was on a really high dose. I go back to see him in 6 weeks. So here's a question for u guys...and of course, I will being doing my usual research on it...but what can I expect from Lithium. I'm not familiar with these kinds of medicines...I've never taken it before.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask folks what they have used that helped their anxiety besides the benzo's. I would like to get off the .25 that I'm taking now. Does Paxil work for anxiety? Please share your sucesses over anxiety.
Avatar m tn Personally, when I was on Paxil, I was able to reduce my klonopin intake by half. So my question is, is the Paxil working at all? If not, augmenting it isn't the best approach -- you generally augment (add another med) to something that's working but just not working well enough.
Avatar m tn recovering drug addict with 3 years clean with the help of Paxil, Suboxone and Xanax. I'll prescribed by the same Doctor Who is aware of my past addiction issues. I myself wanted to cut out the benzo's and went for a proper diagnosis and sure enough my instincts were correct. Diagnosis: OCD, ADHD, ASD. The last is a new one called autism spectrum disorder in the old DSM-IV it would've been called Asperger syndrome.
Avatar f tn what is the proper way to taper back to paxil? 3. How unsafe is paxil with pregnancy and what other options do I have? HELP! I feel like I am losing my mind!!!!
Avatar f tn could be the cause of the sinus tachycardia so he recently switched me from Paxil to Lexapro. So the Paxil is now out of my system but I am still feeling the rapid heart beat. I know it's not dangerous since that is what the cardiologists have told me but I'm experiencing extreme anticipatory anxiety as to when my heart will speed up again and that something is going to happen to me, such as fainting or dying.
Avatar n tn Can I quit the paxil and take the klonopin 3 x a day as prescribed and safely get off Paxil. I am getting fat!
467977 tn?1262714747 I take Paxil and buspar on a daily basis. I used to only take the paxil, but I still had terrible anxiety in the morning. My doctor then added the buspar 2x a day. It helped me almost immediately. It took away that horrible nausea and anxiety by 90 % in the morning. Some people say that buspar isn't effective, but it has been very effective for me. I take Klonopin only on an as needed basis. (Which is very rarely). Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Hi I have been on paxil for nine years.. I am currently 25 and feel like the paxil isnt working for me.. I also had tried stopping paxil for four months cold turkey.. it was HORRIBLE.... so i went back on 10 mgs.. now ive been on 10 mg for 3 years.. I just switched to zoloft over night.. as a doctor reccomended.. I am worried I will have paxil withdrawls symptons.. I really hope I dont.. I am taking 50 mg of zoloft.. i have felt ok since and its been four days... hopefully it will be fine..
Avatar n tn s a very tough drug to stop taking for most people. I will tell you I was on clonazepam and Paxil at the same time for years, but the Paxil was way more effective than the clonazepam. What may have happened is new challenges may have arisen in your life -- drugs don't cure anything, they just mitigate the symptoms but new challenges can override the effect.
Avatar m tn I am 3 weeks back on Paxil after a failed attempt to switch medications to Lexapro. I have read a lot that Paxil loses its effectiveness after the first time. I (stupidly) have started, stopped & restarted Paxil on several different occasions and it always has seemed to work. I was on paxil 20mg originally then stopped cold turkey and went back on at Paxil CR 12.5. Upped dose over time to Paxil CR 25mg.
Avatar f tn First of all I appreciate all the useful, real life information I find here. Second, I have been taking Paxil for 14 years. I began at 20 mg and have increased slowly to 40 mg. I have cut down to 10 mg twice during pregnancies. Like most others, if I were to miss one or two doses I experienced unbearable headaches and nausea. Over the years I have quit cold turkey, as well (loss of insurance, etc). My symptoms of depression always came back, so I believed I was a lifer. No problem.
Avatar m tn I would like information regarding the differences between Paxil and Prozac. I've used Paxil in the past, and the truth is that it is very hard to stop taking it. Right now I'm taking only 10mg (paxil) but I don't feel that is working anymore and have been thinking about switching to Prozac.
Avatar f tn My husband and I are trying to have kids. We have been trying for only a few month, however, we are not young anymore (35) and I don't want to wait a year before consulting with a doctor (as it usually recommended). So here is my question: My husband has been taking paxil for the past 13 years (10mg). From the research online I found out that paxil changes sperm DNA that reduces permeability and as a result reduces the chance for pregnancy.
Avatar n tn s no way to know if it will do what Paxil did. They are different drugs. You need to withdraw from the Paxil first, not add new side effects from a new drug, until you've withdrawn.
Avatar n tn I have been on 20 mg paxil for panic attacks for 7 years, I've tried to wean from paxil(felt like had no energy on paxil) many times, unsuccessfully. I've recently switched to 20 mg prozac, without a taper. After about 5 weeks, I started to feel lousey-nausea, diarrhea, no appetite, depressed. Still feeling lousey. Would it likely be better to increase prozac, or switch back to paxil. If switching back to paxil, what are the best ways to do this.
Avatar n tn Yea, Paxil is a bad one for weight gain. Fair warning... If any doctor tries to put you on Remeron and weight is a concern for you then SAY NO WAY. I have been on both at differnt times in the past. You want to talk about weight gain? OMG! Remeron makes Paxil look like a diet pill! Taking Remeron is like wanting to be fat.
Avatar n tn Getting off Paxil (if needed) is really no worse that stopping any other antidepressant. Paxil is the one SSRI that people report the most weight gain with. This doesn't mean you will gain weight on Paxil. Everyone is different, but yes Paxil is notorious for weight gain side effects.
Avatar f tn SHe told me to keep taking Paxil for just a week which she perscribed me cymbalta for 30 mg for a week with the paxil then she has me on 60 mg of Cymbalta and she told me to stop taking Paxil when i start taking 60mg. So is she weaning me off the Paxil along with the Cymbalta? And is this safe for a week of taking cymbalta 30mg and Paxil 20mg for a week?
Avatar m tn once or twice a year. Could this be caused by the Paxil.. Am I heading to dementia ? Or is it because I am off paxil? I talked with my doctor and he asked if I would consider going back on paxil or trying another drug.
Avatar n tn thanks to you for your insight. I ended up switching from Paxil CR 25 to Paxil 20 (gneric),which surprisingly my insurance pays for. I made the switch today with no adverse things happening, although I know it could be delayed. The goal at this point is to taper off the paxil 20, then get onto prozac. Although maybe I will just stay on the paxil if it keeps going well. The Paxil Cr has been great for me, but inusrance doesn't pay any of it, not even for generic.
