pancreatitis

Avatar n tn Loss of appetitie and vomiting can occur. There may be yellow eyes, dark urine and pale stool. In general terms, if you have pancreatitis then you should contact your doctor when you have any of the above symnptoms or a change in your usual abdominal pains.
467797 tn?1216214857 I have random bouts of yellow/green liquid with my stool, which is somewhat yellow in color. Sometimes when I go to the bathroom, which is hardly ever firm, some of the stool will stick to the bowl. I also have random pain, just below my ribs and sometimes it feels like it wraps around to my back just under the ribs. I also get slightly nauseous. I have mentioned all this to my GI but he just tells me it's my acid reflux and to increase my Prilosec.
504535 tn?1210530632 The bile salts secreted from the gall bladder give the stool its brownish color. Yellow stools generally indicate insufficient bile output like cholecystitis, gall stones, it can also indicate an intestinal infection like giardiasis when the stool passes very quickly through the intestine. Other conditions that can cause yellow stools include hepatitis, pancreatitis or liver cirrhosis. It does not indicate cancer like you rightly mentioned.
902019 tn?1249865014 I was diagnosed 2 years ago with AIP, have a 25 year history of autoimmune disorders (eosinophilic vasculitis, mild Sjogren's). Usually have done well with prednisone for the various flare-ups but with AIP, still recurring symptoms and the elevated IgG4 periodically. Next step may be Imuran. Is there anyone out there who has had good results with Imuran for autoimmune pancreatitis?
Avatar n tn I can't imagine my stool being brownish yellow for no reason. CAn it be the fiber? Also, my nerves have been really bad, and I feel like if I can here my bowel movements rushing down. How long do supplements such as fiber and vitamins stay in your system? Since yesterday my appetite had decrease, I feel like a constant knot on my throat, maybe because I have a throat infection and sinus???
Avatar n tn Our 10 yr old Schnoodle vomited yellow all day Sunday. Monday at vet his weight was 2 lbs down from his 14. Went on several meds and would NOT eat. Tues. he was much worse and in fetal position. Vet kept him on IV till Thurs. Now he has black tar wet stool and is hurting badly. Just rests. This is a dog that has hiked 8 miles every day with my husband since youth. We see the vet tomorrow. Should we end his pain???
Avatar m tn Some stool color changes may signify an underlying medical condition, and others may be due to ingestion of food or medications. Yellow Stool Stool that is yellow may suggest presence of undigested fat in the stool.
Avatar m tn This can include infection, malabsorption, celiac disease, or chronic pancreatitis, among others. Sending off the stool for a culture and analysis can be helpful. I would also obtain blood tests to exclude chronic pancreatitis and celiac disease. If the tests remain negative, a colonoscopy can be performed for a more thorough evaluation of the lower GI tract, as well as to exclude inflammatory bowel disease.
298029 tn?1211192440 my lab/chow mix has vomited now about 3 times this week. It's a dark yellow bile-like substance. It's not during a certain time. But I can say that he had to go poop after he vomited today. I'm not sure what to do. Or if I should worry at all?
12679876 tn?1426981493 I have an 8 year old male cat who started throwing up yellow bile on Saturday. I got him to drink a little tuna juice and he acted like he wanted to eat dry food but only ate one piece and that was after several times of picking it up and putting it back down. All test results from the vet came back normal. No bacteria. He did have blood in his stool. But no infection. No temp, and barely dehydrated. He's going in for a teeth cleaning tomorrow because he had severe tartar build up.
Avatar m tn If that doesn't help, my second guess would be pancreatitis. Usually stools with pancreatitis are yellow because of the excess bile in them and they float because fat is not being digested. However, most people get a lot of nausea and abdominal pain. If it is pancreatitis, the bland diet may help you through your final exams until you can get to the doctor.
266195 tn?1215314011 Stool that is pale or grey may be caused by insufficient bile output due to conditions such as cholecystitis, gallstones, biliary dyskinesia, giardia parasitic infection, hepatitis, chronic pancreatitis, or cirrhosis. Bile salts from the liver give stool its brownish color. If there is decreased bile output, stool is much lighter in color. Reflux can be a symptom of some of these as well. Personal experience: I was getting the same thing, heartburn, pale stools, etc.
Avatar f tn I had an open cholecystectomy because there were to many adhesion for it to be done laparoscopicly My question is...could my loose yellow stool be related to my pancreas.

Avatar n tn I have diarhea every day. Frequently I have loose yellow mucus stools, they are painful to pass. I feel like I am passing acid. Recently I have had a small amount of fresh blood when I wipe. The amount of blood has increased and is visable on the stools that I pass. When my bowels are moving I can feel them go by a sore spot on the right side of the anal canal. I am a healthy 38 year old female, over-weight by 50 lbs. A few years back I had a colonoscopy which return clear.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm not a doc. but I've read that if your stool is yellow and greasy and floats it is a sign of Pancreatic Insufficiency. This is a condition where your pancrease doesn't produce enough enzymes. Ask your doc.
Avatar f tn This limits the volume of nutrients your body can absorb and may cause diarrhea and yellow stool. 7. Diet Your stool can be yellow because of your diet. Some causes of this are eating foods high in food coloring, carrots, or sweet potatoes. It may also be from certain gluten products or a diet high in fats.
Avatar m tn They also said my liver enzymes were just a tad low after blood tests but they attributed that to the fatty liver. During that time, I started to notice yellow/pale stool which would be well formed and they always finish being smaller and a little looser and sometimes burning a little at the end of the BM. My doc suspected GERD or reflux and put me on prilosec, i was later moved to prevacid. He also put me on probiotics for the pale stool issue.
Avatar m tn No major binges or anything. The yellow watery stool now has me terrified that it may be related to cirhosis or chronic pancreatitis, which are both irreversible. However, I did a lot of research online about different conditions that match my symptoms, and all signs point to Irritable Bowel Syndrome because of my age (31), the gurgling sounds I get in my abdomen, lower abdominal cramping, the yellow watery stool, and I'm under stress at home and work recently.
Avatar m tn I would get your Pancreas tested or check to see if your allergic to Gluten Products.
Avatar n tn The MRI is a pretty comprehensive test of the kidneys - a negative test would make anatomical causes of the kidney less likely. With the stool symptoms, you can consider looking further at the GI tract. Inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pancreatitis or malabsorption syndrome are all possible. I would suggest sending the stool out to look for infection or fat malabsorption. A colonoscopy should be done for a comprehensive study of the lower GI tract.
Avatar m tn Went thru a spell where I was having yellow stool and yellow diarrhea. Everything I have read about gallstones, says you should have pain in your upper right stomach near ribs, if you have gallstones. recently had check for hiv, hep b/c, liver function, stomach palpatation. Now I have to wait 5 weeks before seeing a gastro dr. Does anyone have any ideas.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your reply. I am talking yellow stool, but at times it is almost white. I had pancreatitis prior to having my gallbladder out due to gallstones. Three weeks after my surgery I began to have the upper right quadrant pain. My doctor thinks the surgeon may have left stones in my common bile duct. I fear that I may have Sphincter of Oddi. Again, Thank you for your reply.
Avatar n tn //www.allhealthsite.com/35/symptoms-and-causes-of-diarrhea/#yellow-diarrhea But you're talking only about discharge, only mucus, not actually orange stool?
Avatar n tn I have been checked for C diff and it was negative. The yellow stool is not every day, just 2- times/week, mostly it's just very soft brown stool...not had a formed one in about a month. I'm having a gallbladder US Thursday, will that tell anything? Thanks for your responses...
Avatar m tn Blood work, urine test, stool sample and abdominal ultrasound...all clear. Are these signs of pancreatic problems?
6708370 tn?1471493810 This makes total sense as my husband has bile duct damage/blockages and therefore when he has decreased bile output (which is most of the time), his stool is yellow in color. When it's brownish in color, his bile output has increased. Hepcandme As Mike pointed out, it can also just be a result of what you have eaten in the days before.
Avatar n tn What is the color of your urine? Have you had changes in your bowels movements? The color of your stool? Does your stool float on the sink? Are there any pains after you eat? Do you drink alcohol? If you do, does it hurt after alcohol consumption? Do you drink more than the average person? Do you itch? I have had similar symptons and my pain goes to my back. But in my case the back pain came first and then I had four weeks of stomach complications. I am now slowly adding food to my diet.
