Avatar f tn You can freak yourself out googling ovarian cysts. Ovarian cancer is scary. Tee statistic I read today is that you have 1.4% of getting ovarian cancer which is not very high. That means you have a 99.6% you will never get ovarian cancer.
Avatar f tn had me get an MRI which it had still grown, so she sent me to an OBGYN which sent me for another ultra sound and did the CA125 test and OVA1 test (which be careful because my insurance is not covering it) 17 is my result and a 4.3 on the other test.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm a 35 year old Female who went in for a CT scan for kidney stones (3rd time) Turns out I have a 3mm cyst on right ovary, 2mm on Liver and 1.7mm on Spleen. I can't get into my OBGYN until October. Some research I've done is scaring me into thinking I might have a later stage Ovarian Cancer. I've never had Cysts on any of the 3 mentioned before. I've had numerous CT scans over the years for Stones and Back.
Avatar f tn First off 98% of all ovarian cysts are benign. Most women with Ovarian Cancer, not all, are genetically predisposed with the BRCA mutation. I have BRCA. I had a grandmother and a aunt with ovarian cancer in their 50's. Ovarian cysts look a certain way on a ultrasound. At your age with no BRCA you have less than 1% of ovarian cancer. What is your doctor telling you? They saw my ultra sound and I was at the oncologist the next day. Many cysts go away on their own. Are you having symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hello I am experiencing pain in the lower left abdomen that gets worse when I am ovulating. This pain has been going on since the birth of my daughter 3 years ago. I have three children and had a tubal ligation also 3 years ago during my csection. I am 30 years old and the pain as become worse over the last 6 months...intercourse is now to painful so I haven't had that in at least 3 months.
Avatar f tn you will see a lot of information about cysts. They many times, are just part of the cycle and will resolve themselves on their own. I don't know how they could be so sure it was a cyst without another ultrasound. She needs to make another appointment and have another ultrasound if she's in that much pain. Was that a transvaginal ultrasound? The problem with larger cysts is that they can twist or rupture and that is extremely painful..
Avatar f tn It's hard to say what's going on here - lower abdominal and back pain aren't really symptoms of very early pregnancy. It will be interesting to hear what your doctor has to say at your appointment - best wishes.
Avatar f tn Most ovarian cysts are benign. 98% are benign. A woman has a 1.4% of eve getting ovarian cancer. Less if you are under 50.
Avatar n tn Hi there. It is possible the pain could be due to cysts. I've never heard of a connection to coffee though. Do see your gyn and have a transvaginal ultrasound to be sure. Good luck!
Avatar m tn That being said, fibroids are common and usually require no intervention. The same for ovarian cysts. However, ovarian cysts usually go away within 3 cycles / months. So another ultrasound in a couple of months or so would be the typical plan. But your doctor should be communicating with you.
Avatar f tn re ovulated from both ovaries or you may have some tiny benign cysts. I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Basically I have tiny cysts on my ovaries and I would feel crampy and feel ovarian pain, especially around ovulation time, but I wasn't ovulating. I am currently taking medication for it and I don't feel ovarian pain/discomfort anymore.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
483733 tn?1326798446 m seeing a lot of new forum members posting the same questions on both the Ovarian Cancer and Ovarian Cysts forums. There is no need to do this. Just post on the Ovarian Cyst forum as you are going through your testing and diagnosis, etc. and then on the Ovarian Cancer forum only if, God forbid, you not one of the 95% benign club. Many of the members on this forum and many on the Ovarian Canacer forum visit both and will ensure your questions will be addressed.
Avatar m tn Breast cysts are usually easily defined by mammogram or ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are not related to breast cysts or to cysts in any other part of the body. Regards ....
958401 tn?1249654586 I think they should tell every woman who is at risk or has had ovarian cysts to go on the pill straight away. It should be mandatory as it could save us women a lot of heartache. If they'd have told me my life would be completely different now.
1364266 tn?1292973465 s as a guide to determine if you have the most common form of ovarian cancer, approximately 80% of all ovarian cancers are epitheal ovarian cancer which is cancer of the cells on the surface of your ovary. Please keep in mind that CA-125 can be elevated if your menstruating and some other cuases of inflamation.. There are other types of ovarian cancer that are hormone driven and depending which form a person has there will be excess symptoms of that specific hormone.
1431734 tn?1421011671 Ovarian cancer is one of the hardest to diagnose. I had all the symptoms for 4 years. My oncologist says on average it takes two years and several specialists before it is found. The oncologist works with it every day. Because less than 2% of women get it the Gynecologist has little experience with it. The only real time it is easy to palpate is when a woman is asleep for surgery. Pap smears and endometrial biopsies do not find ovarian cancer.
Avatar n tn What started initially as a small complex Ovarian Cysts now on scan the Dr. says is getting bigger and has put her on birth control pill. How does one get Ovarian Cysts. Please help.
Avatar n tn This would probably be better answered on the ovarian cyst forum. Most cysts and masses are benign, Only about 12 % are ovca. If in doubt, ask to be referred to a gyn/ocologist.
Avatar f tn I have also tried rubbing caster oil on my thyroid cysts and leg cyst. The thyroid cysts went down after 2 hrs but my leg cyst just reduced in size- I have had the leg one for 20 yrs vs the thyroid cysts for only 7 yrs.
Avatar n tn I think possibliy you mean ovarian cysts instead of ovarian fibriods as fibriods are assoicated with the Uterus and ovarian cysts are associated with the ovaries.
Avatar f tn HI, Even though you may not want any more children, you are too young for a hysterectomy. The bleeding can be stopped with help of haemostatic medicines and with use of hormones like progestins. Also a D&C may sometimes be necessary to stop the bleeding. The ovarian cysts need further evaluation regarding their size and nature. Many of the cysts in young women respond to birth control pills or regress spontaneously. Hence it would be best to consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation.
Avatar n tn I have recently had a lot of problems getting pregnant due to ovarian cysts. I have cut out all caffeine, gone on a diet, begun exercising, but nothing is working to get rid of them. I have cysts in my liver as well. I'm just wondering if the Prilosec has anything to do with the cysts. This discussion is related to Acid Reflux, large cyst on right kidney, small cysts on right testicle.
Avatar f tn 98% of all ovarian cysts are benign. Unless you have the BRCA mutation you have less of 1% chance you have ovarian cancer. It is good they are checking again. I had cysts and they thought it was PCOS so they did not tell me. You could have the same case. I do have ovarian cancer but I have the BRCA 1 mutation and two close relatives with ovarian cancer and two with prostate cancer before the age of 60. I just would worry or what if just yet.
Avatar n tn I have not been on birth control for over a decade and am not taking any other meds. My concern is ovarian cancer ( a 2nd cousin died of this), and is there any other test I can take to see if I may be perimenopausal (my mom started around 40)? Thanks so much for your time.
