Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts for many years that have been watched by my DR. The last US showed a Right ovarian cyst does not show overall clear change in size compared with 5/7/2015, but today shows what appears to be a new echogenic mural nodule measuring 0.5 cm. MRI is suggested.. What does this mean? I'm scared to death...I'm 65 and on the Kidney Transplant list and One more problem is all i can take. Could someone PLEASE explain this to me. And advice on what I shou;d do.
Avatar f tn I tend to get cysts all the time - ie kidney cysts, ovarian, fibrocystic breasts , cysts on my back. But the mri reported didn't suggest any special follow up to it and I am not sure what to think. I'd love some ideas. My kidneys could be inflamed due to the cysts and stones but don't know if that would affect the pelvic area... Thanks for any ideas.
Avatar n tn MRI following an ultrasound is not routine, no. Checking back 3 years is not routine, either. I don't understand the logic of that at all. The only time I've heard of doctors checking previous films was to check previous mammograms, not previous ovarian ultrasounds (at least not 3 years back). It's not just the sizes of cysts that matter, what about the nature of these cysts?
Avatar m tn I am 32 years old and was found to have a simple ovarian cyst in Oct 2012 during a routine MRI for my Desmond tumor that was surgically removed in June 2012. I have had MRI s every three months to follow both and the cyst was stable at 3cm from Oct 2012 until Sept 2013 and the last six months it grew to be stable at 4.7 and 4.8cm. I have experienced some discomfort. Treatment has been to continue to observe but I am concerned it is persistent and moved anterior on this last scan. Suggestions?
Avatar n tn I would not be concerned, but, I would go to the gyn and have it checked....probably nothing. There is a great forum for Ovarian Cysts. There are many fabulous women over there that can probably offer more guidence and support regarding cysts. This forum is mainly about Ovarian Cancer.
Avatar n tn i had a mri for hip pain and it came back with ovarian cysts and bone cysts is there a connection?
Avatar f tn I have had an ultrasound and MRI that indicate an ovarian cyst (6cm, 4cm) in my left ovary. OB/GYN suggests oopherectomy and testing cysts during thsi surgery to determine if more would need to be done. MRI shows septations and Ultrasound mentioned something about possibly internal papillary projections. MRI offers no definitive answer...just possibility cyst could be a hemmoragic cyst, an endometrioma, or cystic neoplasm.
621010 tn?1221508226 I go to to my GI and he tells me that I need to go to a gyn-oncologist, because I have ovarian cysts. I had a transvaginal ultrasound today, and the tech, said it looked like grapes. That scares me. I am wondering if that is a normal sounding cyst?
Avatar f tn Lets hope the pelvic MRI goes well. Having cysts on both Ovaries points to them being benign. It is rare to have Cancer in both Ovaries. Are they doing the MRI to cut down on radiation? They always do CT Scans on me.
Avatar f tn I was curious to know if they is a certain age range for complex ovarian cysts occur or usually occurs?
Avatar f tn The CA125 test is not accurate at diagnosing ovarian cancer. Benign conditions, including harmless ovarian cysts, can cause elevated results. I'm surprised they even did a CA125. If you do indeed need surgery, the frozen section done while you are in the operating room should dictate whether or not the ovary needs to be removed. If it's not cancerous (only about 13 out of 1,000 women get ovarian cancer) you would not need your ovary removed.
Avatar f tn Most MRIs of the abdomen also shoot images of the pelvic area, and if they did, then it would have shown ovarian cysts if they were there at the time of the MRI. However the best test for diagnosis is an ultrasound. So as your gynecologist has advised you can get a repeat ultrasound done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Sorry for my delayed response. I am not aware of any natural remedies for ovarian cysts although that doesn't mean there aren't any. Since your MRI was scheduled for today, I suppose you are still waiting on the results from your doctor. I am interested to hear what it showed.
Avatar n tn t feel it is related in any way to my prior cysts. Most of the time, those who have cysts do NOT get ovarian cancer. That is just my experience. Good luck with your MRI. This test will definitely give you more information about your cyst.
Avatar f tn s and they havent been able to rule out malignancy so Im being sent to a obgyn in a few weeks but I am really stressed and scared that I have ovarian cancer. Below is a copy of MRI report , is 6cm large or small and if malignancy cannot be ruled out from MRI is this a bad sign meaning most likely it is cancerous? Please anything to help me understand better. Ultrasound report: Multicystic mass identified in each adnexal region, up to 5.
1427674 tn?1283107458 Some ovarian cysts are hormonally active and result in pseudopuberty (early physical signs of puberty) In girls with hormonally active cysts, the ovarian enlargement may be mistaken for an ovarian tumor, leading to unnecessary(surgery) . Girls presenting with premature vaginal bleeding and ovarian enlargement should be genetically evaluated An ovarian cyst in a toddler/young child is often discovered by a Dr.
Avatar f tn 1 cm. A few small subcentimeter left follicular ovarian cysts are identified. There is no longer evidence of previously described 2.0 cm complex left ovarian cyst. The right ovary measures 3.8 x 2.0 x 4.0 cm and contains a thick walled complex right ovarian cyst measuring 3.4 x 1.4 x 4.0 cm. This was not noted on prior MRI examination. Clinical correlation and close follow-up is recommended. Small amount of free fluid is noted within the cul-de-sac. Impression: Status post hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn I think with my family history of ovarian cancer (my mom died at 78) and with the complex cysts that have blood flow my mind is automatically jumping to ovarian cancer. I am very scared. My Doctor has called in a requisition for an MRI, and I am waiting to get a call back to find out when - but was told it could take 2 weeks or a month depending.
1666478 tn?1303226690 thanks for the info...still anxiously waiting my mri results! i`m guessing your cysts are what some people call chocolate cyst caused by endo? so do they appear as solid on an ultra sound? did anybody mention the c word to you? or did they have a pretty good guess it was endo? sorry for so many questions! i just cant stand all the stress and worry. hope all goes well for you in october.
Avatar n tn The most probable diagnoses are hemorrhagic cysts (classically characterized by reticular pattern of internal echoes) versus endometriomas (classically described as homogeneous low level internal echoes), the former which will improve/resolve but the latter which will persist after 6-12 weeks. It is unlikely that you have ovarian cancer (as the more aggressive ones typically present with septations and/or nodularity). For now, there is no need to worry.
Avatar f tn m not sure which type of imaging (e.g., CT, MRI, ultrasound) is the best for viewing ovarian cysts. Do you have a copy of the report? If so, what does it say about the characteristics of the cysts? The important thing to know is that the ovaries produce hormones a woman's whole life which are critical to good health. Removal of even one ovary has been shown to do more harm than good when done for benign conditions (e.g., cysts or prophylactic).
Avatar f tn I have had serveral surgerys to include 2 cyst removals 5 laparoscopic surgerys and 3 secections. Now back in october I had an MRI done and revealed serveral cysts on right overy with the largest one being 1.4 cm in diameter. I recently had to go to ER due to serve pain on right side and they informed me that I have a cyst measuring 9.
408163 tn?1242949501 I went to my OB and she took a polyp off my cervix, did a uterine biopsy and ordered my first (of many) vaginal US. It showed complex bilateral ovarian cysts, enlarged ovaries and fibroids. I have had 5 serial US since the first in Sept 07 and I feel that I am nowhere closer to finding out what is wrong with me than I was 6 months ago. The cysts have gotten bigger (not alot), I still have some pain on and off throughtout the month and my period is more irregular.
Avatar f tn Hi I have been sent for a MRI now through my gyno. I asked to be sent to the onc/gyno and they said to send me for MRI. I have what they think might be a hemorrhagic cyst that is 5 cm and a elevated ca 125 of 80. I have been sick with terrible stomach gas since last February. My gastro sent me for a CT scan which showed nothing. I'm not sure why the onc/gyno would ask the regular gyno to send me for the MRI? Why wouldn't they when I asked to be referred to oncologist?
Avatar f tn Hi jojo, Why not come visit us on the Ovarian Cyst Forum. This forum is primarily for Ovarian Cancer and there probably will be more folks replying to you on the "cyst" forum. You could also check out the Hysterectomy Forum. I had my ovary removed when I had the cyst removed but I'm also post menopausal so it really isn't the same as it is for you.. Pop on over to the Ovarian Cyst forum and post this over there..
