Avatar f tn Would you keep or remove your ovaries when having a hysterectomy? I'm coming to the end of menopause.
Avatar f tn I had cysts removed from both ovaries 3 years ago,and they are all back now,i came off the pill 6 months ago, after using birth control(depo inj, coil, pill)for 11 years.I still havent had a period,is this because of the cysts?
Avatar n tn Hi Marisa, You've had a tough time and I'm sorry. 95% of all ovarian cysts are benign. Complex cysts raise a little bit more of a red flag but can still be benign. Somewhere on this page ( I think Sharon just posted it again) is a wonderful pamphlet that will explain in great detail about cysts. Hopefully, it will help you understand your situation. If you trust your doctor, I would follow his or her advice about surgery.
Avatar n tn ve been getting irregular periods for 2yrs, all my results keep coming back negative. Except the vaginal scan and it came back with a mass of something( not sure what it called) but apparently common in woman. I have being referred to a gyno! But now I'm exsperincing really bad lower back pain, which doc seems to think a pinch nerve?? But I'm also getting reall y bad abdominal pain and its worse after sex. 1297477 tn?1295949511 Really Pregnancy will help avoid them coming back. I have never heard of that... that is interesting though! thanks for your reply. I am glad that i am not the only one here who has that worry!
Avatar n tn s very difficult to figure out where the pain is coming from . My bet though is Ovarian in nature.. You def. need that TVUS and don't worry.. Cysts are very very common . Once you have the Ultrasound, you'll feel better knowing what the cause is and please keep us posted....
Avatar f tn It's hard to say what's going on here - lower abdominal and back pain aren't really symptoms of very early pregnancy. It will be interesting to hear what your doctor has to say at your appointment - best wishes.
1324051 tn?1275414812 If the discomfort continues, then you can opt for other options. When is your repeat ultrasound? Keep in mind that when you have ovarian cysts, they can mess your periods up and cause cramping. You starting birth control back up could also mess with your period.
Avatar f tn What is causing this problem with his pancreas? How can we get these cysts removed? What should we do??? We will be back in the emergency any moment now, but all they do is sit him there until his enzymes go down and send him home. Help!
11091907 tn?1415221745 I am 30 years old. I was recently diagnosed with ovarian cycts. I have 6 on right ovary one is 6.5cm. 4 on the left ovary and two in my tubes and one on the outside of my tubes. I also found out that I have a blood clot in my left leg. I am now having a lot of lower back pain. Been to the doctor and they gave me some pain meds and scheduled me for another ultrasound to determine when the surgery is. I have not felt pain like this since I was diagnosed. Sometimes it hurts so bad to even walk.
Avatar f tn Hi Melody, I have the same concern. They found I had multiple cysts on both ovaries last year, did surgery to remove them due to the size, and now a year later, I have them again like grape clusters on both ovaries again. I went on the Yaz BC after the last time to keep them from coming back. But I guess it didn't work. I am only 34. I don't know what to think? I am waiting for the Dr to decide what to do this time.
Avatar f tn My organs were unnecessarily removed 9 years ago when I was 49 and I am shocked how fast I aged (inside and out). And the problems just keep on coming! Check out http://ovaryresearch.com/ovarian_cysts.htm. Let us know what you find out tomorrow.
474394 tn?1207672322 No complex does not mean cancer, it just means that there is solid matter inside the cyst. Most ovarian cysts are benign, over 90 percent and you are young which is also good. What is the follow up? When do you see the GYN again?
1053613 tn?1255987994 Now 6 yrs since my last surgery, I am suffering greatly with ovarian cysts, adhesions and am being monitered for ovarian cancer. I have just been told that I will now have to face the removal of both ovaries, and probably the biggest surgery recovery I've had to date, because of all the internal scarring, adhesions and surgical mesh inserted from my last operation. I can hardly bare the idea of having to go through all this again, but the pain is to hard to control.
1494095 tn?1288784877 I asked my best friend since she had her own experiences with ovarian cysts and she says the pain with her ovarian cysts were constant, not the coming and going that I have described here....
Avatar m tn I've just had my results back for the hormone balance blood test and that came back normal! I'm sick of everything coming back normal when I know something is wrong my friend who has endermetriosis and cysts said bloods came back normal but only the op and ultra scan showed the cysts! Anyone else found this that their bloods were fine but scan revealed a problem?
Avatar n tn I have a history of ovarian cysts that my doctors claim are the result of my abdominal pain. I first experienced severe abdominal pain around March 2009 that caused me to go to the ER. I would get this sudden sharp pain in the lower right side of my abdomen that would intensify at different times. My stomach also felt completely bloated and full. Even though I had not eaten anything because I had no appetite. They thought it might be my appendix so they ran several tests and did a CT scan.
10299247 tn?1409208876 They are ovarian cysts I have had them for about a year now. And if I walk to stand for to long they hurt so bad like really bad cramps only on the left and right side never anywherr else and its always in the same spot.
Avatar n tn Please arrange for a transvaginal ultrasound and insist that your doctor rule out ovarian cancer but do keep in mind that over 95% of all cysts are benign. Feel free to join us on the ovarian cyst forum for support.
Avatar n tn I agree with Trudie, and don't think a CA 125 is too useful and should only be a general indicator. You should know that ovarian cysts are 95 percent benign. Your's is approx the size they determine whether or not to perform surgery to remove it, so your doctor may want to "keep track of it" every few months to see if it dissolves on it's own, or he may be pro-active and schedule one of the various types of surgery to remove it.
Avatar f tn Cysts are very common and it can come back. I had my cysts drained and within s month they were back. It doesn't necessarily increase your chance of ovarian cancer but they would send the fluid etc to be tested and your doctor should have those results. I was on birth control to shrink the cysts and a yr later I lost my right ovary.
Avatar n tn After 3 years of consulting ,i did a pap smear and the results was showing abnormal HPV , i was reffered to the gyn and the doctor told me that part of my womb was partly damaged and the pre cancerous cells are in the last stage, thats where the sugery came in for the removal of the womb, but five months after the sugery ,all those symptoms which i was having came back ( itching, smelly discharge and forever wet by the watery discharge) i started consulting last year again with the same doctor wh
604168 tn?1222537786 Hello, I was diagnosed 2 years ago with a ovarian cyst. My Ca 125 test came back normal at that time and since then I have had normal periods and no other symptoms. Back in July I started having pain in my left side so they did several tests to rule out other organs such as the kidneys. Finally they did a pelvic ultrasound and found the fibroids and enlarged uterus. They are more concerned with the CA125, It is a elevated, she did not tell me the levels.
Avatar n tn I had 2 large ovarian cysts removed last May along with a full hysterectomy. I had suffered from the time I can remember with Heavy periods and also bad cramps. I had endometriosis which destroyed my insides ...I am not aware that size matters regarding ovarian cysts..I would discuss your options with your doctor. I didnt want a hysterectomy..because of hormones, menopause etc... i was 40 at the time. I was told if there was cancer or anything susipicous I would need the hysterectomy.
1282335 tn?1275352615 Ok, you need to find a new doctor ASAP!! Your doctor is an idiot. Obviously he didn't listen very well in school. Ovarian cysts DO CAUSE BACK PAIN AND THIGH PAIN!!! Unfortunately, cancer doesn't have a specific age. He has not a clue!! I'm sorry your appointment didn't go like you were hoping. I know how bad it can hurt after an exam. Try resting with a heating pad on your stomach and then switch to your back. That helps me sometimes.
1893678 tn?1322008313 Hi guys, I'm new to this website after reading all your supportive posts about having painful ovarian cysts. I'm 17 and I have been having problems with ovarian cysts since I was 16. Last January, I was 16, and I started feeling severe pelvic pain that wrapped around my back. The pain was so severe I laid on the bathroom floor and cried and cried. My mom then took me to my primary doctor who told me it was only a stomach bug and gave me medicine for the vomitting, and 'stomach bug.
