Avatar f tn I have had pain for 4 weeks now. Originally diagnosed as kidney stones. I was put on antibiotics for a week on day 4 and booked in for an ultra sound. I was also given diclofenac to help with the pain. Avo upper data later the pain did not get better. I went back to the doctors and they weren't sure it was a kidney stone. Occasionally pain worsened on some days. Was prescribed codeine for when I needed it. I continued having pain and was signed off work. I only had fever on day 2.
Avatar n tn What you are describing can be symptoms for many things. These can include ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. Since it is pretty rare for women your age to have ovarian cancer and since more than 95% of all cysts are benign let's asssume you are dealing with a cyst. I had all the symptoms you are describing and had benign cysts. You should check out the health pages (top right) and look at the listing for types of cysts and symptoms.
Avatar f tn Infemales, ovarian cysts can also cause pain in abdomen usually in lower part but it can be a referred pain in upper abdomen also.So ovarian cysts also have to be ruled out. Confirmation can be done only after ultrasound or CT abdomen.Blood tests may also be required in some cases.Till the time you consult a doctor, pls take some over the counter pain reliever like ibuprofen or diclofenac. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I got on birth control (progestin) and it helped me regulate my period and I stopped getting them but I stop so the cyst came back. When they cane back it seemed to happen like back to back ruptures. Now I’m have serve lower back pain. Is this possible?
Avatar m tn Yes, it can be. Ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and other conditions can all cause back pain.
18454502 tn?1465007523 I went to FastMed for lower abdominal pain lower back pain(right) hip and my whole leg was hurting. I assured it was a UTI since i had all the symtoms for it. Yet i had right leg pain.. that was weird i even had light blood show when i wiped. I saw the dr and he didnt seem sure of what he was diagnosing.. so he just gave me antibiotics in case there was an infeccion and pain pills. He also sent me in to simonmed to get an ultrasound on my bladder and kidneys.
Avatar f tn Hi- I'm wondering how this turned out for any of you that had ovarian cysts and chest/rib pains. My 17-yr old started having really bad abdominal pains a couple months ago and at the ER they discovered she had an ovarian cyst on her right side. It flares up each month since during ovulation and then mellows out in between. The ob/gyn had her start a birth control pill but then had her stop it about a month later because of some symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have three large ovarian cysts, my right ovary has a 10cm dermoid cyst and what looked like to me a similar sized simple cyst right next to each other and my left ovary has a smaller dermoid (it looked similar sized to the other two) I don't recall the sizes of the others. I am scheduled for laprotomy (open) surgery this Wednesday. Late tonight, I started to feel bloated and gassy (nothing new) although I hadn't really eaten anything that would merit that.
Avatar f tn I am 57 and have been menopausal for 8 years. I've had ovarian cysts before and never bore children because I did not get pregnant. A year ago I went to the doc because I had discomfort in the right side of my belly and told her I thought I had cysts, which she almost scoffed at because of my age. I do have 3 large cysts, fibroids and possibly endometriosis. There are calcium deposits in many places.
Avatar f tn I keep having terrible stomach pain. I had an abdominal CT scan the first time and was told that I have a left ovarian cyst (2 cm) and a moderate amount of free fluid around my ovaries. I went to my OBGYN and had a vaginal U/S only to find out the the free fluid was re-absorbing and the cyst was smaller. Last week I ended up in the ER again for horrible stomach pain again but mostly in my upper right side and in my ribs (some discomfort in my pelvic area too). Again the found a 2.
Avatar n tn Nope ovarian cysts don't cause back pain. I had ovarian cysts and most of my pain was where the ovaries were.
Avatar n tn I have now started to get the same symptoms again, lower abdomden pain, progressing into my groin and pain going into my back, I wondered if anybody can advise me if my cyst could have returned again? Or are they something that once removed are not able to return? Many thanks.
Avatar n tn My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts? How long does it take for birth control to show progress in pain and resolution of ovarian cysts?
Avatar n tn I have been having lower back pain for a week and half. I went to the doctor and she did a CT thinking that I had kidney stones. BUT they found a complex ovarian cyst. I then had a sonagram. My question is how serious and what about cancer??
Avatar f tn Have you had any ovarian cysts or other issues in the past? I frequently get sharp pains lower abdomen. Likely they are result of the digestive system slowing for increased absorption or things stretching around to make room for baby. I have endometriosis and still have some adhesions that can hurt like heck as the baby starts to grow. However, your doctor should include your ovaries in your ultrasound just to make sure everything is in the right place.
Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts in the past. I also have gi symptoms including alot of gas, and some pain under my breasts, upper rib cage. I don't have any bloating, or increased abdominal size. I recently had a colonoscopy which was normal. The dr is sending me for a cat scan to check for kidney stones and ovarian cysts. I am very worried this could be ovarian cancer. I have afamily history of colon cancer (father). Am i being irrational, or should I be very worried?
Avatar f tn Have you hand a transvaginal ultrasound? Ovarian cysts can cause lots of pain for some people and others don't even know they have one. They can come and go with a womans monthly cycle. Sometimes people have cysts that rupture and those can wreak havoc with your system. I think I would start with a gyn appt and request a transvaginal ultrasound.
11091907 tn?1415221745 Been to the doctor and they gave me some pain meds and scheduled me for another ultrasound to determine when the surgery is. I have not felt pain like this since I was diagnosed. Sometimes it hurts so bad to even walk. Not sure what to do. Called the doctor and they told me to keep going to the ER to get the cycts looked at. Don't know how much more of this pain I can take.
Avatar n tn A week after that my lower back and upper back pain intensified and I could feel the pain radiating immensely all over my back. I also noticed foul smelling vaginal discharge but no pain during urination and bowel movement except the fact that I only go to toilet every 2-3days. I will get it checked next Friday but I just want to know has anyone had this problem before?
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
1287128 tn?1331134538 Paraovarian cysts are not actually ovarian, they are usually located along side the ovaries or on the fallopian tubes but they are often hard to distinguish from the ovarian cysts. If they are small and don’t cause any trouble, they are hard to notice, the only way to do so is with the transvaginal examination. They are often mistaken for ovarian cysts. These cysts are not so common but do appear. They make 10% of all the masses in the adnexal region (ovaries and tubes).
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, lack of pain doesn't mean all is ok. Most women do get some pain as a mass grows and puts pressure. But, it is often not any worse than the usual pains we get as females from time to time. That is one of the reasons ovarian cancer has been labelled "the silent killer." Did you scan indicate if your mass is fluid filled or does it have solid parts? Were they able to determine if it is attached to your ovary?
