Avatar n tn Nope ovarian cysts don't cause back pain. I had ovarian cysts and most of my pain was where the ovaries were.
11091907 tn?1415221745 I also found out that I have a blood clot in my left leg. I am now having a lot of lower back pain. Been to the doctor and they gave me some pain meds and scheduled me for another ultrasound to determine when the surgery is. I have not felt pain like this since I was diagnosed. Sometimes it hurts so bad to even walk. Not sure what to do. Called the doctor and they told me to keep going to the ER to get the cycts looked at. Don't know how much more of this pain I can take.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar f tn I got on birth control (progestin) and it helped me regulate my period and I stopped getting them but I stop so the cyst came back. When they cane back it seemed to happen like back to back ruptures. Now I’m have serve lower back pain. Is this possible?

Avatar n tn I have pain in my lower back and sides that seems to be making me nauseous, my stomach is a little irritated as well which is making it worse. The pain is dull and constant, and is made worse by moving. I did take some Tylenol yesterday, but it was only 2 pills, this has been going on since yesterday but is a bit worse today. I was working Friday and yesterday and was standing on my feet most of the day.
Avatar f tn The dr. told me back in April that I have a possible dermoid cyst. No money, no insurance, so I just cannot get it removed so I just deal with it. I deal with alot of pelvic pain and have horrible periods. But right now and for the last three days my back has been killing me. Is it b/c of the cyst? I usually don't have this severe pain in my back. Usually, when it acts up, I have back pain, just not this bad. It even hurts when I cough, which is alot b/c unfortunately I am a smoker.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar f tn Hello back I am a 30 year old women with a long history of ovarian cycsts and endometriosis. Avatar n tn My doctor used an ultra-sound to check the placement of the IUD and all was fine. However, she discovered that I had multiple cysts. She perscribed pain medications, and sent me on my way. My question is how long are they supposed to last? It is now mid-May and I still get the same severe pain. It shoots down my left leg, (sometimes the right) and across my back. It of course is in my lower abs, and makes me completely useless. It's daily.
Avatar n tn i had a mri for hip pain and it came back with ovarian cysts and bone cysts is there a connection?
Avatar m tn I went off birth control 4 years ago and ever since then I have been developing ovarian cysts. Sometimes i get lower back pain that extends down my buttocks and feels like sciatica . I also get what feels like menstral cramping after intense exercise. During ovulation i also experience uncomfortable cramping. My periods are pretty regular (maybe off by 5 days tops) and they are not heavy, just normal and they last about 4 days.
Avatar m tn I have been on pain pills since leaving the er but the pain is getting worse and my stomach gets larger everyday.
Avatar n tn I recently started having more intense right sided pelvic pain along with lower right back pain. I went back to the Gyn and she did a pelvic exam and said that everything was fine. There were no cysts and that the back pain must be from something else. Well, two weeks later the pain has gotten much worse. I went to my regular doctor who checked my CBC and wanted to do a ultrasound, but couldn't get in for a week for the ultrasound. The pain is getting worse, so I went to the ER.
1893678 tn?1322008313 Hi guys, I'm new to this website after reading all your supportive posts about having painful ovarian cysts. I'm 17 and I have been having problems with ovarian cysts since I was 16. Last January, I was 16, and I started feeling severe pelvic pain that wrapped around my back. The pain was so severe I laid on the bathroom floor and cried and cried. My mom then took me to my primary doctor who told me it was only a stomach bug and gave me medicine for the vomitting, and 'stomach bug.
Avatar f tn This will give them a good view of your ovary and any cysts that you may have. Please rest assured that ovarian cysts and cancer have most of the same symptoms. 95% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. Avatar n tn Another possibility to look at would be your appendix, unless you have already gotten it out. Fibroids and ovarian cysts can cause a lot of pain. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns, but it does sound like it is the fibroid and cysts.
Avatar n tn My girlfriend has been on a progestin-only BC since July, she tried normal estrogin based ones as well but they do not work well since she has ovarian cysts. She didn't have a period for 3 months but they randomly started again. She is taking BC because her ovarian cysts make her have very violent periods and she wanted them to stop but they're back again. Why are they back?

Avatar n tn Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts? How long does it take for birth control to show progress in pain and resolution of ovarian cysts? I started using the nuva ring almost two weeks ago. I thought the pain was gone (as it had disappeared for over a week) then all of a sudden this weekend the pain returned with the same intensity. Does this mean the cysts are growing? I am growing extremely frustrated with the pain.
3100626 tn?1341387176 Could this pain be cysts. In so much pain really getting scared my mom died.
10299247 tn?1409208876 I'm not sure how much of a difference pregnancy makes for pain level, but a couple years back I had 7 on one ovary, and 8 on the other, and the only relief I found from it before I had them removed, was hot showers. Mine would constantly rupture and grow back, and I could always feel the rupture happening, and I would immediately jump in the shower, and it relieved quite a bit of the pain that otherwise would've had me in the floor.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
Avatar n tn i have a blood filled cyst i found out today--besides ibuprofin 3 times a day what can i do to alleiviate some of pain? And is this an early sign of ovarian cancer or are people freaking me out????
Avatar f tn This new GYNO did a laparoscopy surgery to take biopsies to figure out what was causing so much pain. he noted I have multiple ovarian cysts measuring about 5.7. not sure what that exactly means.. but okay.. he noted that one fallopian tube is also severely damaged. and most likely has since birth. now present time Sept 2015 I have been put on Alysena low dose birth control to control excessive bleeding and cramps during my cycles. I have been on these pills for about 6 months.
551683 tn?1220656108 The symptoms you are describing are very much in line with ovarian cysts. Do you know what size or type of cysts you have? Surgery for cysts depends on size, type and whether you are in pain. In many cases if surgery is required it can be done laporascopically. Don't ignore the cysts. You really should have a gyn dealing with them. Take a look at the health pages attached to the ovarian cyst forum. There is some good information on types of cysts that you might be helpful.
Avatar n tn What awaits me if I get the cysts and ovaries out. Will menopause be any worse than the lower back pain with the cysts? Thanks for any help.
