Hi There I am unfamiliar with the use of HCG injections for cysts. The abbreviation HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin and is the protein measured in a pregnancy test.

I read the infromation in the box and it said that ectopic or ovarian cysts can give a misleading result. Does that mean they could cause a false positive or a false negative? Do ovarian cysts produce HCG? I thought they only produced progesterone? I am confused. I really hope my level doubles tomorrow..it is so hard to wait. By the way, I forgot to mention that I know that I have three cysts on each ovary which is why I am concerned with a false positive.

Then they did a pregnancy test and it came back positive. They then checked my hcg levels (pregnancy horomone) and it was like 350. They couldn't see anyting on the u/s, so they said it's either too early to see anything or I'm miscarrying. Anyways, a friend of mine told me how her sister had a pregnancy test that was positive and turned out to be a cyst (a big one) which caused a false positive.

also, you might want to try switching triggers - to novarel which they say is the strongest trigger (10,000units of hcg) it will help those follies rupture and might prevent cysts! unforntunately cysts are common when going thru fertiltiy treatments its totally normal! Why did they make all this fuss and cancel my procedure for an HCG level of 1.8? I do not believe I could be pregnant. This was a Beta HCG, Quantitative test.

pregnancy can produce unusual symptoms,,you sound like you may have two different things happening at once a possible problem with ovarian cysts which could expalin the cramping and you may be early pregnant..you hcg wouldnt be going up for any other reason... many women spot especially brown during pregnancy and go on to have a healthy baby,,,it happened to me,,I spotted, bleed off and on for 5 months and my son wa born a healthy weight and fine...

Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts?
