Avatar f tn Hi There I am unfamiliar with the use of HCG injections for cysts. The abbreviation HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin and is the protein measured in a pregnancy test.
655897 tn?1328018445 I read the infromation in the box and it said that ectopic or ovarian cysts can give a misleading result. Does that mean they could cause a false positive or a false negative? Do ovarian cysts produce HCG? I thought they only produced progesterone? I am confused. I really hope my level doubles tomorrow..it is so hard to wait. By the way, I forgot to mention that I know that I have three cysts on each ovary which is why I am concerned with a false positive.
Avatar f tn Four and half months ago, I have continuously bled after about nine weeks of non stop bleeding I contacted my gyn they ordered hcg test and found it to be elavated the gyn gave me provera to cause me to shed my uterine lining, after ten days I was taken to er bc my hemoglobin was at 7.4 and had to have transfusion. Reconsulted with stating that bleeding was still present he ordered u/s they found inhomogenous and thickened endometrium(3.
Avatar n tn Some medications can cause elevations in HCG, as can some cysts and tumors (especially ovarian tumors). Also, it can be elevated in some postmenopausal women.
Avatar f tn Hello, Frequent urination is not a sign of ovarian cysts. Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. The pinching pain can be due to adhesion formations in the area where the surgery was done. If you are apprehensive regarding the status of your pregnancy you can get it checked. Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian cysts and 2cm isn't that bad, but it also won't give you a false positive. My little ovaries are riddled with cysts, but the two times I've taken a pregnancy test and had them come back positive were because I was pregnant. Congratulations!
117065 tn?1280874407 My questions are, do you think there may be a connection between my cysts rupturing and losing my pregnancies, and if so what can we do about it? and I was also wondering if I had my left ovary removed (where I had all the cysts, and no tube on that side), would I be more likely to get pregnant on my own using the right side which is somewhat healthier? I should also let you know that neither my RE or my OB believe in checking progesterone levels?
Avatar f tn J did two home pregnancy tests and did a urine and blood test and met the doc! Do ur blood hcg test I am sure ur pregnant too!! Cheers for you!!
Avatar f tn It says so on the pregnancy test instructions. I just went and bought one because af was due today, and is not here yet. Do you have an ovarian cyst? It says that is a rare condition though. Good luck sweetie. Did the nurse call you back yet?
977821 tn?1248369491 Then they did a pregnancy test and it came back positive. They then checked my hcg levels (pregnancy horomone) and it was like 350. They couldn't see anyting on the u/s, so they said it's either too early to see anything or I'm miscarrying. Anyways, a friend of mine told me how her sister had a pregnancy test that was positive and turned out to be a cyst (a big one) which caused a false positive.
Avatar f tn also, you might want to try switching triggers - to novarel which they say is the strongest trigger (10,000units of hcg) it will help those follies rupture and might prevent cysts! unforntunately cysts are common when going thru fertiltiy treatments its totally normal! GOOD LUCK! i hope it goes away fast!
Avatar f tn Why did they make all this fuss and cancel my procedure for an HCG level of 1.8? I do not believe I could be pregnant. This was a Beta HCG, Quantitative test.

Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts may produce pregnancy-like symptoms. Usually an ultrasound can pick it up, and if not, a CT scan should. Most cysts are benign, so not to be too worried about it. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar n tn Also be mindful of your diet, there is a link between insulin resistance and ovarian cysts. It is best to stay away from processed white flour products like bread and pasta, and the worst culprit is of course sugar.
Avatar f tn You may have an ovarian cysts the is casueing some pain and are not pregnant. Ovarian cysts can have signs of missed period. Pain, spotting sometimes, nausea, weight gain, water retention. You will not show up + on a test with that but when it ruptures it will be horrible pain for a bit then stop. An eptopic will not stop hurting and get worse. ovarian cysts are nothing to worry about or be seen for. They are jsut a sign that oyu are fertile and that youa re making eggs.
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
Avatar f tn Could be something else. I had ovarian cysts thats caused my cycles to go wacky. If you want to find out for sure if you are pg you need an hcg blood test from the dr. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
1531146 tn?1292108567 COuld be an ovarian cysts or a fibroid. Either of these can give pregnancy type symptoms. If you are still unsure about pregnancy take a hpt or see your doctor for an hcg blood test.
Avatar f tn 6-21st of this year. Around 4 days to a week later, I was hospitalized due to a left ovarian cyst that burst and caused other complications. I was put on medication for the cyst to go away and as well as the other complications that came along with it. Well, now I just took two pregnancy test (the first response kind and the clear blue with weeks indicator kind) and both came out positive. The clear blue test results came out as 'pregnant' with '3+' on it.
