655897 tn?1328018445 Does that mean they could cause a false positive or a false negative? Do ovarian cysts produce HCG? I thought they only produced progesterone? I am confused. I really hope my level doubles tomorrow..it is so hard to wait. By the way, I forgot to mention that I know that I have three cysts on each ovary which is why I am concerned with a false positive. Could a blood test for pregnancy be false too?
Avatar f tn HI, Even though you may not want any more children, you are too young for a hysterectomy. The bleeding can be stopped with help of haemostatic medicines and with use of hormones like progestins. Also a D&C may sometimes be necessary to stop the bleeding. The ovarian cysts need further evaluation regarding their size and nature. Many of the cysts in young women respond to birth control pills or regress spontaneously. Hence it would be best to consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation.
Avatar f tn However, since i learn that HCG is a hormone that shows up in pregnancy women, so i wonder if taking HCG will has side effect to my ovarian cysts, for example, HCG will makes my cysts bigger or more complicated? Looking forward to hear back from you. I do appreciate your help.
Avatar n tn Some medications can cause elevations in HCG, as can some cysts and tumors (especially ovarian tumors). Also, it can be elevated in some postmenopausal women.
Avatar f tn Hello, Frequent urination is not a sign of ovarian cysts. Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. The pinching pain can be due to adhesion formations in the area where the surgery was done. If you are apprehensive regarding the status of your pregnancy you can get it checked. Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian cysts and 2cm isn't that bad, but it also won't give you a false positive. My little ovaries are riddled with cysts, but the two times I've taken a pregnancy test and had them come back positive were because I was pregnant. Congratulations!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts last month and I was reading on the pregnancy instructions that if you have ovarian cysts then it can give a false positive. Have anyone had this before? I got a positive test but I'm scared it's a false positive.
Avatar f tn The only info I can find on cysts giving false positives is on cysts that actually produce Hcg. If that were the case, your beta would register false pos as well. It is not your common cysts that produce Hcg. From what I am reading, they are quite rare. It is driving me crazy trying to figure out what else could cause it. I can't come up with anything. I've looked for several hrs over the weekend. The waiting is driving me nuts, I cannot begin to imagine what it is doing to you.
Avatar f tn also, you might want to try switching triggers - to novarel which they say is the strongest trigger (10,000units of hcg) it will help those follies rupture and might prevent cysts! unforntunately cysts are common when going thru fertiltiy treatments its totally normal! GOOD LUCK! i hope it goes away fast!
Avatar f tn There are other circumstances in which hcg can show up. Women in peri menopause or menopause can have it present. Ovarian cysts can also sometimes create hcg. I suspect that will want to repeat the test in a week or so. Best of luck. I hope this turns out the way you want it to.
Avatar n tn pregnancy can produce unusual symptoms,,you sound like you may have two different things happening at once a possible problem with ovarian cysts which could expalin the cramping and you may be early pregnant..you hcg wouldnt be going up for any other reason... many women spot especially brown during pregnancy and go on to have a healthy baby,,,it happened to me,,I spotted, bleed off and on for 5 months and my son wa born a healthy weight and fine...
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts may produce pregnancy-like symptoms. Usually an ultrasound can pick it up, and if not, a CT scan should. Most cysts are benign, so not to be too worried about it. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn You may have an ovarian cysts the is casueing some pain and are not pregnant. Ovarian cysts can have signs of missed period. Pain, spotting sometimes, nausea, weight gain, water retention. You will not show up + on a test with that but when it ruptures it will be horrible pain for a bit then stop. An eptopic will not stop hurting and get worse. ovarian cysts are nothing to worry about or be seen for. They are jsut a sign that oyu are fertile and that youa re making eggs.
Avatar f tn Could be something else. I had ovarian cysts thats caused my cycles to go wacky. If you want to find out for sure if you are pg you need an hcg blood test from the dr. Good luck.
117065 tn?1280874407 Hello. My husband and I have been ttc for number 2 for 3 1/2 years, I am now only 27 and he is 29. My first pregnancy was in Feb of 04 which ended in a D&C due to blighted ovum. My next two pregnancies ended early (around 6 wks) both of them with good HCG's and then had an ovarian cyst rupture (with both) and within days my HCG dropped by about half. My last pregnancy was in August of 06 with perfectly doubling HCG, had a cyst rupture, and then #'s dropped by half.
1531146 tn?1292108567 COuld be an ovarian cysts or a fibroid. Either of these can give pregnancy type symptoms. If you are still unsure about pregnancy take a hpt or see your doctor for an hcg blood test.
Avatar f tn 6-21st of this year. Around 4 days to a week later, I was hospitalized due to a left ovarian cyst that burst and caused other complications. I was put on medication for the cyst to go away and as well as the other complications that came along with it. Well, now I just took two pregnancy test (the first response kind and the clear blue with weeks indicator kind) and both came out positive. The clear blue test results came out as 'pregnant' with '3+' on it.
Avatar f tn You need to make an appointment with your OBGYN ASAP. There are only a few things that will cause your body to produce HCG outside of pregnancy and its important to determine the cause in your case - this is not something you should wait on.
Avatar f tn My doc said ovarian cysts are normal and not to worry. She also said some women have spotting throughout their entire pregnancies, deliver healthy babies and we never learn what causes the bleeding. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn ve never heard of the CA19-9 test. Most ovarian cysts, including complex ones, are benign (non-cancerous). And most cysts resolve on their own in 3 months or so which is why the standard treatment is typically to monitor them via periodic ultrasounds. Of course, if you have a family history / genetic predisposition for ovarian cancer, then that needs to be considered. You don't want to have surgery if it isn't necessary since all surgery has risks.
1570931 tn?1315840395 And ive been having an almost constant body ach for two days along with a bad back pain,(in my upper back and its normally in my lower back) took a hpt today and it was BFN Not sure what to think though, i dont normally get sharp pains like this so part of me is worried my cysts came back, (I used to get hormonal ovarian cysts when i was younger)
Avatar n tn True^^ they cause false positives! I've had ovarian cysts forever now! & I think I peed on a stick maybe 12 different times years and months and they we're all positive. Smh drove me crazy!
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar f tn I had an ovarian cysts An mine was 4.
Avatar n tn Other things that could cause those symptoms are upcoming period, ovulation, ovarian cysts(mine made me feel pregnant), also hormonal imbalances(which can be caused by tons of things). If it continues you should definitely see a doctor.
Avatar f tn Does the radiology report give you any information? Most cysts that size can be monitored with periodic ultrasounds since most cysts are benign and resolve on their own. What did your doctor tell you?
Avatar n tn Hello, There are several reasons why a woman have delayed menstruation and this could be due to unhealthy diet, stress (emotional or physical), sudden weight gain or loss, caffeine, alcohol, and smoking. Gynecological conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and uterine cysts or polyps, can also bring about alteration in menstrual cycle. However, pregnancy is still the most common cause of delayed or missed period.
