Avatar n tn After having a surgery to fix on particular problem that left me with a whole different problem I went to three other osteo docs. They all advised me to have hip replacement due to osteoarthritis, but I didn't want to do that without trying every other avenue. I recently had a 'live blood analysis' and discovered a tiny organism called 'mycoplasma arthritides' was responsible for my problem. I was told that a trauma like my surgery couild have triggered the organism.
1131208 tn?1260211546 I too feel as if I am leading the life of an 80 year old. Anyway, the small fracture inside my left hip { NOT a fracture of the hip BONE } did NOT show up on an x-ray !! A bone fracture will show up on an x-ray. When I sustained this fracture to a band of tissue inside my hip it barely even hurt I barely noticed it because it is an injury to soft tissue not bone. However, over time AVN and osteoarthritis can set in ..

Avatar m tn After seeing a podiatrist and having a bone scan it was determined that I had a stress fracture in my cuboid bone. During that time I was in the Army and had already been diagnosed with plantar fascistis, heel spur, bone spur in my ankle, and possible osteoarthritis in my midfoot. The doctor said that I could just wear a boot for 3 weeks and then it would be fine. I got out of the Army a few weeks later and when I returned to the States I saw a podiatrist at the VA as I was still in pain.

Osteoarthritis of the right hip characterized by degenerative tearing of the labrum and focal defects in the articular cartilage. 2. The contour of the femoral head and the appearance of the acetabulum on the pelvis x-ray suggests that the patient is likely impinging due to both pincer and CAM type morphology.
3134561 tn?1342629375 Osteoarthritis may cause elderly people to fall and fracture a hip. When a patient’s hip fractures, it will have to be treated with hip replacement surgery to get rid of the severe chronic hip pain. One of the major causes of sudden hip pain is hip fracture. As people age, the possibility of having a fractured hip increases. This is because falls are more likely and bones become thinner, according to medical observers.
405614 tn?1329147714 I discovered that I have a hip labral tear in my right hip, and went to see a surgeon about having it repaired arthroscopically. Her chart notes said that I have " hip symptoms consistent with femoral acetabular impingement and arthritis. The MRI arthrogram also shows diffuse articular thinning.
Avatar m tn A work-up in the hospital ruled out hip fracture, cancer, etc. . Only mild osteoarthritis of the right hip . A Rheumatologist thought I had Pagets Disease of the bone , but a complete bone scan showed no evidence of Pagets disease. For several months I have also developed the same type of pain in my left hip AND pain in the pelvic bone on sitting . The pain is controlled with Lortab 5/500 4 to 6 times daily .
Avatar n tn Hi All, Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on my situation. 7 years ago I had a bad fall after being thrown from a horse. Axial low back pain with a referral pain pattern may also occur in the hip. It is more common, however, for axial low back pain with referral pain to occur in the buttocks and/or leg(s) in a pattern that is difficult to localize.

209987 tn?1451939065 though other few possible causes are hip arthritis, avascular necrosis, fracture, contusion, muscular injuries, referred pain etc. It would be best to get this evaluated by an orthopedician at your earliest convenience. An evaluation may include a complete physical examination, routine blood tests, imaging studies like x-rays/ MRI, nerve conduction studies etc. After a cause is diagnosed, it can be managed accordingly. Hope this was useful. Take care!

Avatar f tn Can Penicillin VK (500mg) treat arthritis pain? Before you say, "no," please read further: I had a back molar crack/fracture. This tooth had a previous root canal so, while there was little pain directly from the tooth, an apparent infection set up. The dentist prescribed Penn VK (500mg) to treat it for five days prior to pulling it and another course of five days after the extraction.

Avatar n tn Hello, I had a CT scan done when I was 33 yrs old and was told that I had osteoarthritis of the sacroiliac and spine with generalized osteoporosis. I now have a diagnosis of probable reactive arthritis with axial involvement 13 years later. My question is about the CT scan. Could this be sacroiliitis rather than osteoarthritis: Findings: There is mild periarticular sclerosis in both SI joints associated with mild SI joint narrowing. Definite bony erosions are not identified.
15428331 tn?1440594434 Nothing works for my lower back/hip pain. I am doing yoga and stretching exercises but more often than not they aggravate my back even more. Also been trying to walk but the pain in my hips is often so intense I sometimes can't even finish grocery shopping without having to take a break. In so desperate. I want to function normally and live life. I cannot do certain parts of my job so I am in danger of losing it. I don't want to go on disability. Doctors seem to minimize my pain.
