488264 tn?1226523907 They did the whole pelvis, but as this clinic is a pre-surgical clinic for potential hip and knee replacement patients the whole picture was not assessed, just the parts relevant to them. It was clear from my first seeing them some two years ago that I was nowhere near needing a hip replacement, but that is their only criteria for seeing me.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms of grinding, popping and stiffness indeed suggest that you are having osteoarthritis. Any grinding is characteristic of osteoarthritis; locking and catching are characteristic of meniscus injuries and osteochondritis dissecans (meniscus injuries are much more common than osteochondritis dissecans); and giving way is more characteristic of ligamentous injuries.
Avatar f tn For the past month or so I've been having a major issue with my right hip and lower back (mostly the hip) - it began with pain in the groin/inside hip area and has now totally encompassed the entire hip and does also affect the lower back (although not all the time). the best way I can describe the pain is like a horrible, horrible toothache that does not go away. it also radiates down my leg into my knee and sometimes all the way down my leg with some shooting/burning pains into my foot.
Avatar n tn Thanks again for the information you provided in response to my first post on 09/01/06. I have posted the pictures from the 2005 MRI on the net. You can view them, if you wish, at: http://new.photos.yahoo.com/kwujek1/albums When you double-click the individual pictures, a larger version comes up and the viewer can add comments. Since I posted the first time, I have seen both my primary care doctor and a local neurologist. I had appointments with both of them the same week.
Avatar f tn I still do have some discomfort but compared to the pain I had before the surgeries I am much better. My joints were completely fused from osteoarthritis and when the toe would get forced to bend little bony pieces would break off and add to my discomfort. The surgery enabled my joints to move freely again and the Podiatrist was able to clean out all the bone chips. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn An MRI showed a listhesis (sliding vertebra) which may be related. I thought it was over because of back exercises I have been doing, but this afternoon it happened again - and it was awful. I had my babies without pain medication - and this is much worse! It only last 5 minutes or so, but all I can do is hold on to the furniture and scream. So - I was wondering whether you have found out anything in the 2 years since the posting. Of course, information from anyone else would be welcome, too!
Avatar f tn If you follow this and your doctor is very good with his hands, your neck should end up looking just as long (or short) as it was before the surgery so TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR NECK with a ruler beside your neck. I am very serious about this because so many women complain that their neck "doesn't look as good as pre-surgery." For the first 2 weeks after cervical fusion, you must sleep sitting up, this is a must!
147426 tn?1317269232 I saw my internist who noted pathologically hyperactive reflexes on both knees and ankles, weakness of the R hip flexors and referred me to the neurologist I had seen before for migraines. The neurologist who I already knew thought I was a crock, examined me and found mild extensor spasticity in my right leg - mainly at the hip. He sent me for an MRI w and w/o contrast of my brain and spine. Next visit he said the MRI's were completely normal.
975514 tn?1325001538 I was 17 when I first was diagnosed with sciatica and it wasn't until I was 31 when my foot was completely numb that I was able to convince a doctor to take an X-Ray of my lower back, which started a domino effect of MRIs and testing. I learned that I have degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis in my spine, minor scoliosis and nerve damage- I even had a shoulder surgery on a bone spur because I kept getting tendinitis and the doctors couldn't cure my arm pain.
Avatar n tn I got an anonymous paper in the mail a few months back that explained everything and showed pictures of the different parasites that inhabit humans. I read that some types of parasites like flukes can live in the liver and gallbladder and even the biliary ducts and cause this pain, which would also explain my swollen lymph nodes and constipation.
Avatar n tn Im been testet and teastet by the doctors, but im perfectly healthy if you can put it that way. A few years ago i was in an accedent where i destroied my hip. It was very very stressful as i lost my job and all. 3month ago i broke up with my boyfriend and he moved out. Bla bla bla, but all this coust stress and hormon differences. The docters say i suffer from servere stress and they say it normal that your hair fall out 2-3 month after the "thing" that coust the stress.
Avatar n tn I had my right hip replaced with titanium about 4 years ago, but I don't think the surgery or any other medications I took through the surgery and recovery have anything to do with my tongue at this late stage. I've continued the same medication (Indomethicin) for at least 6 years now, so I don't think that's the cause either. I drink a lot of coffee and tea, and I was thinking that might be the cause; however, I've always drank a lot of coffee, so it doesn't seem plausible to me.
Avatar n tn As a 34-year old mother of 3 with osteoarthritis in both hips, the lower back and left knee, along with mood swings out of control, this drug has done wonders! The best part is that there is no weight gain side effect. In fact, I've started to lose weight again. I also started kickboxing around the same time and it has helped with the mobility of my hips, as well as helping me feel more energetic. I actually enjoy exercising and find myself working out at least 5-6 days a week now.
Avatar m tn i googled and came up with morgellons disease - until then i never knew what people with psychological problems were talking about. i looked at the pictures of the sufferers of this disease and i wanted to die. i had an anxiety attack and was admitted to the emergecy room where they made me hold a fluffy ball and describe how it felt. i suffered. one day i read the front page of yahoo, about a guy suffering from a crawling feeling. i read his symptons and they sounded like mine.
