1110049 tn?1409405744 Now told I have osteoarthritis in spine. Had no back pain, only the hip pain. Presume this is what is known as referred pain, but I must admit I am bemused. Does glucosamine or any other supplement help with arthritis in spine? I am 69 yrs old, so know it is due to wear and tear.
4226456 tn?1354123528 Now, I had hip and knee pain/aches/stiffness prior to Tx which I have since attributed to the Hep C. It was better towards the end of Tx and for a few months after I stopped Tx. However, I notice it is worse again now. The thing is, it is only stiff and painful when I first get up out of a chair, and stairs are difficult. After a few steps, there is no pain and no stiffness. In fact, if I stayed on my feet all day, I would not even have it (except for stairs).
Avatar f tn (I can not stand or walk too long or climb steps), and I feel ill and am in pain every day, and tremble sometimes. I also get rashes that last less than an hour, and have severe morning stiffness in my back, and neck. I sent an e-mail to my neurologist saying that I found out my blood tests could mean I had muscle damage. On Monday, 6-22-09, my neurologist did not answerr my questions about my muscles.

Avatar n tn ONE WAS FOR DEPRESSION AND THE OTHER WAS FOR ANXIETY. THIS PARTICULAR DAY I WAS HAVING BACK PAIN HIP TO HIP SO THEY DID TEST MY URINE. THE OTHER TEST THAT WERE FINALLY TAKEN WAS FOR SUGAR, THYROID, RA AND BLOOD COUNTS. I DID HAVE A FEVER THIS DAY OF 101 AND THEY SAID MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS HIGH. MY NORMAL TEMP IS AROUND 97 AND I USUALLY ALWAYS HAVE LOW BLOOD PRESSURE. ALL OF THE BLOOD TEST CAME BACK NEGATIVE. I AM TO WAIT AND SEE IF ANYTHING CHANGES AND CALL HIM IF IT DOES NOT.

Avatar n tn I take the flaxseed oil capsules, 1000 mg morning and mid-day for my own osteoarthritis in my jaws as well as for mood. Certain foods are rich in omega fatty acids as well, like macadamia and walnuts, pumpkin seeds and freshwater fish, such as salmon and tuna. And Ester-C (gentler on the stomach than plain vitamin C) can help with circulation to the area. Using moist heat might help relax some of the stiffness she feels.
Avatar n tn It usually subsides by morning somewhat but I will have stiffness again the next day after sitting, etc. and some back pain. Just not as painful as if I had been standing a long time.
Avatar f tn stiffness in the morning when I get out of bed from the osteoarthritis... so I don't think the relafen has started to work yet. How long does the relafen take to start working... how many weeks? And why did the mobic stop working? Is that normal? I'm wondering if my osteoarthritis is getting worse... or what's going on? Doctor did lab work... so if I had rheumatoid arthritis instead of osteo... would that show up in lab? I'm only 45.. was first diagnosed with osteoarthritis around 40...
Avatar f tn Started noticing issues today too after being seated at my desk for a couple of hours straight. I have been told my legs have hyper reflexes but I also have osteoarthritis and bone spurs in my hips so I do not want to jump the gun and increase my Baclofen. I only take 5 mg of Baclofen at night for my arm spasticity and it seems to do the trick for now, even though my neuro is ok for me to up it incrementally to 20 mg if needed.
Avatar f tn It started about 5 months ago with some pain in my right hip. Then came the right knee pain, right wrist pain, right ankle pain, left knee pain, and now upper back pain. They're sharp, stabbing, sometimes burning pains that are worse after sitting or standing for long periods of time or when going up or down stairs. Also especially bad at night when trying to lie still and sleep. And in the morning my joints are very stiff and painful.

Avatar f tn I have a 9 year old alaskan malamute who recently has been having problems with her back leg. She is in no pain or showing no pain, except stiffness in her back legs when she walks. It is worse after she has been sitting awhile and tries to get up and walk around. We started giving her Ecotrin, that is what my moms vet said to give there dog for arthritis, in the morning and when we do that she seems fine.
Avatar f tn But my right leg is a little bit shorter than the left leg, and the muscles in my right thigh are smaller and somewhat atrophied compared to the muscles in m left leg. My x-rays show some early osteoarthritis in my right hip, and my right hip is pretty deformed and flattened out on top. I struggle to remain active. I too enjoy working out - weight lifting, hiking, cycling, etc - but it can be pretty difficult to do on some days.
Avatar n tn I woke up 2 days ago w/bilat knee pain and left wrist pain. The following morning and into the day every joint in my body was in severe pain; especially my right elbow and left hip. My hands at the time of this writing have the "feeling" of being swollen but do not look as if they are swollen. I have trouble making a fist;when I do there is pain. My right shoulder was painful when I woke this morning. I have not had any injuries; I am not overweight.
280485 tn?1249017444 It is my impression that the synthroid may be affecting my hip joint, which is very stiff whenever I change positions. These symptoms of my joint stiffness and aching started and have progressed since Jan 1998. Is it true that I can't stop taking the synthroid now, to see if the joint stiffness goes away? I don't feel many changes since taking the synthroid, perhaps looser bowels and this joint aching, especially in my right hip area. Can synthroid affect bones as a side affect?
1207048 tn?1282177904 My regular doctor called this morning and my blood work was normal (as I expected it would be). He really wants me to start Celebrex for the joint pain. I'm very resistant to that. Mostly, because I really think it is more of a muscle issue than it is a joint issue. I think I'm out of alignment LOL I don't want to take Celebrex when I don't think it will address the real issue and I'm nervous about the potential side effects.
Avatar f tn I am a 47-year-old woman and have been on avid weightlifter and runner all my life. I have extreme stiffness in the morning and I seem to respond to exercise. If I get going I feel better but sometimes pay for it at the end of the day. I have no pain in my finger joints and blood tests have not shown any elevated blood levels in inflammatory markers. Could this be osteoarthritis? Or Ra? I have been taking anti-inflammatories and I seem to respond well. In other words it takes away any pain.
Avatar f tn This pain is now not only in that area, but has also moved around to encompass my entire hip area (inside hip, front of hip, side of hip, back part of hip) my lower back on that side (right) and radiates down my leg, mostly on the inside, but somewhat on the outer leg also. I've also been getting burning, shooting pains in my foot that may or may not be related. The pain has increased to such a point that my normal pain meds are not touching it at all and neither is my muscule relaxer.
1033336 tn?1252509731 There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.
1629578 tn?1299818494 My 2 rods start at T3 and end at L2, they took bone off my left hip at the time of surgery to fuse the spine. I have been in and out of doctor's offices, counselors, physical therapy, seen many massage therapists, chiropractors, multiple prescription use, and also have used many modalities of alternative medicine. Because I suffer from chronic pain all the time, fibromyalgia symptoms, myofascial pain (tons of knots in the muscles...
Avatar n tn I am set up for my liver biopsy next Sunday, so I haven't been through it yet. Their is some good info I got on the other Forum Hepatitis Comumity. Check it out.
527589 tn?1301681778 Also during this time I had various episodes of joint pain; aching left knee(mild osteoarthritis), sticking/painful left hip(m/o w/spurs), right elbow and wrist pain(m/o), very low back pain(mild stenosis, m/o), sometimes sever neck pain and stiffness where I couldn't turn my head(m/o, spurs, mild sten). None of the bone aches happened at the same time and lasted 2-7 days each. Occassionaly I would have left side mid back burning and pain. Something always hurt.
17440821 tn?1456757510 SelmaA, thanks so much for your reply. I actually think I have seen you advising others to explore all additional related conditions on other threads on here as well. From what I have researched, I highly suspect EDS in addition to Chiari and Syringomyelia, though I have no diagnosis. A doctor has referred to my ability to involuntarily move my left hip i and out of socket as a "hip clunk" with no further concern.
Avatar n tn I have similar symptoms -- hip pain, stiffness, increasing difficulty standing after sitting, with a sensation that I must stand on tip toes with my good leg and let the other dangle so as to allow gravity to stretch and expand the space within the ball/socket area of my afflicted left hip. It has been getting steadily worse week by week. I had been previously diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the same hip, but imaging continues to show a decent amount of cartilage remaining.
Avatar n tn Hi was just reading about your back and I have the same trouble , am full of osteoarthritis and just had a thr a month ago but while my hip is fine it's my back that's the problem, walking ,doing dishes , getting out of bed in the mornings etc and my lower back gets to a point were my legs won't work and I stiffen up completely , the doctors just keep upping my morphine but am going to a chronic pain clinic next week so I hope they will look into it more .
4686261 tn?1358138792 Postpartum depression with 2nd and 3rd children. Severe with 2nd; began anti-depressants a month before #3 was born to try to stem it. Hip pain began after my 3rd child was born, in 2002. Fatigue, stiffness in joints, sore hands, back aches also began. By 2003, more random pains and cramps. Plantar fasciitis in 2004, until 2007. Illnesses continuing and interfering with work, to the point that I kept running out of leave at work and taking unpaid time.
Avatar n tn My jaw, shoulders, fingers, elbows, chest, hip, back, knees, ankles, toes, neck... I don't think I have anything that doesn't crack. I also have been told that "They are not concerned with the cracking", I have been told that, "Some cracking is normal... pressure builds up in the joint and cracking releaves the pressure" Nothing to worry about. I guess what I am requesting is that if you do find someone who is concerned with this... Please keep me updated.
639872 tn?1223338275 But, reading this forum got me scared, and read up more on it,abd am really scared to take it regularly. The last time on took tramadol's was thurday morning at 10:30am b4 my doc visit. He told me to take the sub the next morning(frid. morn) So I took it at 7:30am (having really bad withdrawals) and felt no more withdrawals just super drwsy (like if i was drunk or something). I slep all day and had a headache. So sat. morning I didn't take anything at all. I was ok prob because of the sub life.
Avatar f tn (I am unsure if the fever is causing the exhaustion, or the exhaustion is causing the fever) •Some joint pain throughout body- mainly morning and sometimes nighttime, especially neck, hands, fingers, wrists, ankles, toes, and most recently left hip joint and edges of shoulders and elbows (pain varies from mild to moderate, occasional severe shooting-type pain on tops of hands and feet) •Some swelling in finger joints, cramps and stiffness in hands and arms, joints ache occasionally •Shooting pa
