1295500 tn?1272459927 However if you are giving Glucosamine supplements to her, for a 90lb dog 500mg is probably not enough. It is the dose I give mine, and she is a 28lb dog. Yours may need 1000 or even more mg Glucosamine daily. The safest thing to do about that is have a word with your vet about it, if you are unsure. I honestly did find it worked well for my dog, very quickly and very efficiently. But all dogs are not the same.

Avatar f tn Then find a doctor who doesn’t want to pump you full of pharmaceuticals that are making the Wall Street barons rich on your ignorance and unfortunate circumstances and your lack of knowledge of how dangerous those drugs are. We are a commodity to those people. Wake up, please. Today I am finally off all meds and eating right. Lost 60 pounds this year eating what my body needs not what advertising tells me I need. I’m 63.
Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
529224 tn?1400648219 If you have pain on rest, or as soon as you start walking, or there is too much of bending of your knees, then you should not waste any time and get the replacement done. However if you have a good walking distance (say more than 2-3 kms), then you will benefit from Synvics injections or a steroid injection also. So you tell me, wht's your walking distance?
Avatar n tn First, go to an orthopedic doc, not your general practice doc. Get xrays, especially a standing xray if it's in your knees or ankles. My doc started me on Relafen (sp?) and physical therapy- The pills take the edge off the pain and the therapy will (hopefully) help strenghten the muscles around my joints. Good luck!

513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar f tn My dog... a 4 year old...has developed a lim in his r front leg. Vet seen and xrays are clear for breaks and bone lesions. RX rimadly for 2 weeks and rest. His limp is pronounced when he first gets up from laying down and he limps a little bit then is fine. he even runs like a bat out of hell without any effort. What could this be? Osteoarthritis is possible but should have shown up in xray.
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar f tn Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein? Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Having said that, the pain and swelling die down within the day. At least, it did for me. You just gradually and carefully move your leg around to get the fluid moving. After that, I was walking the next day just fine. The left knee was easier for me. Although I have my moments, and still cannot ride a normal bicycle anymore ( looking for a recumbent bike), I have to say all in all it's helped a lot.
Avatar f tn Hi,thanks in advance for any responses...much appreciated and my drs. do not know. I've been menopausal since Nov.2011(my last period) and I've been diag.hypothyr.about 3-5 yrs. I'm currently on estrogen patch+progesterone+150 mcg synthroid. Wondering if anyone has had experience with hip (actually where the leg and hip meet)pain that disturbs their sleep? Also on another note wondering the best labs to target any such problems, whether hormone or thyroid related.
272434 tn?1228607209 I also have carpal tunnel and I have osteoarthritis. Both very painful, and I also need surgery, and I told them not right now. I take a long time to heal, and that alone is enough for me not to have surgery. I also use splints at night, and I have had to cut back on my quilting, but I refuse to stop all together. The osteoarthritis I have in all of my joints as well as RA, I have a triple whammy.
1422385 tn?1282542385 s happening. At 9, your pom is a senior and it may be something relatively simple like osteoarthritis. Avatar m tn I hear your pain and thank god someone in your vet office was on the ball. I feed all my hounds raw food and why you ask ???? I used to think it was a fad until I got a 12 year old dog who without raw would never have survived as she has had a stroke and then was left at a relatives who had small dogs so she was not only starving but fighting the effects of a stroke.
Avatar m tn The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
1175033 tn?1492201228 s very possible that your hip deformity is the source of your other aches and pains. It throws off your gait and your spinal alignment, causing pain and stress in other parts of your body. Ask for a referral to a pain management specialist. These lovely people are willing to try a wide variety of methods to help you with your pain, which your doctor may be unaware of or reluctant to try.
Avatar f tn Hi there! I was diagnosed about 6 months ago with osteoarthritis in my L4/5 and was told it was a moderate case by my GP. I've had back pain going back 10yrs, but they just figured it out recently. My problem is that my doctor is refusing to do pain control even with my CT and Xrays showing up postive. I've told her I'm looking for pain relief and not to get high.
Avatar n tn You must be unable to perform your old job with accommodations for your illness or any job in the US economy that you are qualified for due to your medical disability. In others words you must be totally disabled and your disability must last for at least one year or result in death to qualify as being disabled. What does SSA define as a disability? 15695260 tn?1549593113 She was way better looking -- as a dog and as a human -- than my wife and I. She was half German Shepherd, and half something else (her papers at the rescue shelter said half Pekingese, but I don't think so and really don't like to picture that, if you get my drift).
