Hi All, I finished a clinical trial of Sofosbuvir and Riba 8 mos ago. I feel very fortunate to have successfully eradicated the HCV without interferon and experienced no side effects during tx. I have also been dx with Cryoglobulinemia and although my cryo count had dropped significantly, it was still present (trace amounts) at last test. While I feel considerably better, I have continued fatigue and joint paint, knees, ankles, lumbar and cervical spine and now shoulders.

) I have almost everything up there except Lyme in my family. I suffer from DDD and Osteoarthritis of the spine and nerve damage as well as Fibro. My Thyroid numbers are also slightly off myself.

I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?

I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.

The other knee was about to be replaced in 2012 and an emergency came in and my OP was postponed.I took up hill walking, despite it hurt, aquafit twice a week and swimming lengths (not breaststroke!) - which my consultant had suggested before first knee OP, and my knee (despite being in a worse arthritic state than the first knee before OP!) improved - I don't have pain, or instability anymore!

I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

t tried it myself yet, only because I HATE taking pills, but have heard a few success stories about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Another thing you can do is start physical therapy. Strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joints helps to slow the degenerative changes.

I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.

t expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.

I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.

i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.

Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein? Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition? Thanks!

Hi,thanks in advance for any responses...much appreciated and my drs. do not know. I've been menopausal since Nov.2011(my last period) and I've been diag.hypothyr.about 3-5 yrs. I'm currently on estrogen patch+progesterone+150 mcg synthroid. Wondering if anyone has had experience with hip (actually where the leg and hip meet)pain that disturbs their sleep? Also on another note wondering the best labs to target any such problems,whether hormone or thyroid related.

Going by your symptoms of multijoint involvement and age chances of arthritis(osteoarthritis and rheumatoid) are more.However confirmation can be done only after investigations like MRI scans,rheumatoid factor,serum uric acid,ESR,x-rays and bone scans. I have had blood tests for arthritis, Osteoarthritis and connective tissue disorders. All came back clear. These were all reviewed by a specialist who said there was nothing he could see that could be causing the problems. So now I have no idea what to do?? I am a 30 year old male however I feel like I'm 80. I haven't exercised in years due to my fragile joints. Can you shed some light on what may be causing these symptoms??

I have had severe joint type pain since october that has gotten worse and worse since then and Ive tried physical therapy and I also had a sacro illiac joing injection that seemed to help after 5 days it seemed to help the low back area, but not the hips or legs, then after about 8-9 days I got a little bit of releif through my hips for about 3 days and then all of the pain came back... and now it seems as though I have another type of pain on top of it...

I also have carpal tunnel and I have osteoarthritis. Both very painful, and I also need surgery, and I told them not right now. I take a long time to heal, and that alone is enough for me not to have surgery. I also use splints at night, and I have had to cut back on my quilting, but I refuse to stop all together. The osteoarthritis I have in all of my joints as well as RA, I have a triple whammy.
