Avatar m tn 2) The clinic told me the test I had done (the one I am going mark as the conclusive test) was a Unigold 3rd Generation, 5th generation elisa - would this be an advanced enough test for this to be negative? It is also worth of mention I had the Labcorp DNA PCR test done 20 days outside of exposure. I went the 12 weeks, because Teak and others on this board recommend it.
Avatar m tn It usually takes the immune system a few weeks to develop enough antibodies to be detected by an antibody test. A person who has been recently infected with HCV may be in the window period – the time it takes between initial infection and the development of antibodies. The average time it takes for people to develop HCV antibodies is 2 months, but can take as long as 6 months; however, this is uncommon.
Avatar n tn how it is possible, i am really confused i went through the process of Eclia test the resuilt was 7.1 reactive they perform the test by an other method vitrous ECI instrument of ortho clinic dignosis and the resuilt was 1.73 reactive after one week i had retest from the same lab and the result was 6.2 by Eclia and the test was repaeted by the other method vitrous ECI instrument of ortho clinic dignosis result was 1.
Avatar m tn I understand the Wiki stuff about the bugs themselves. But that doesn't really answer my question regarding specificity of T. cruzi to Triatomines.

Avatar m tn I did a 28 day HIV test in December 2010, result was negative. Then I had a 5-1/2 months EIA (Elisa) tests, short of the reccommended 6 months and the result was also negative. But before those two tests, I was already taking allergy shots 2X a week that started September of 2010, two months before the encounter. Did my allergy shots affected my HIV test results? Is the negative conclusive inspite of the allergy shots I'm taking?
Avatar f tn Since you were in the tropics, you might want to see a doctor about T cruzi or see someone at your local Health Dept. They usually have a doctor there who is affiliated with the C.D.C. You could've been bitten by a kissing bug. They spread a disease with trypanasomes (very thin worms) that can invade any part of your body. So sorry this is happening to you. I was bitten by a kissing bug and have lots of health problems. Wishing you the best.
Avatar n tn Hello forum. After a risky exposure i took an ELISA test at 8 weeks wich came back negative. And today i took another one wich is 82 days since the exposure, its 2 days short till 12 week mark. Could i consider myself 100% HIV negative? And is 82 days conclusive?

Avatar n tn Thank you very much for your help. But,I have a test Colloidal Gold 3rd generation from hospital only ,I didn't have an ELISA test. Is there any difference?
Avatar m tn I started experiencing sympoms and wend for the 3rd generation elisa testing at 6 and 9 weeks post-exposure.The doctors said the test result would most likely not change at 12 weeks, but everything depends on the immune response, how quick it is.So my question is: is the person has no bad habits, is not a drug abuser and overall healthy, can he still get a delayed (after 9 weeks ) response?
Avatar n tn On 14th June 2008 I had done a HIV Screen test. The result was negetive. On 25th June I had a medical test in Dubai. I passed the medical test. HIV was not detected in my blood. After 8 weeks from the incident I had again HIV Screed Tested. Again teh result came out Negetive. But 9th week from the incident that means on 14th August 2008, I had little cough problem and neck pain. And also found black and brown marks (without any irritation) in arm and back side.
