Avatar m tn My result says that I am HBsAg (ELISA)= Reactive, Anti-HBc (ELISA) ORTHO= Reactive and HBV-NAT (NUCLEIC ACID TEST)= Reactive. My primary doctor also did some blood work and she confirmed that hepa B positive and my liver enzymes were normal. She gave me referral to a gastroenterologist for further test. I'm just worried now about my situation and trying to be positive. Any suggestions or opinion on what you guys think I have???
Avatar m tn HBsAg (Elisa) Sample OD Cut off OD 2.798 0.
Avatar m tn As gen said, the diagnosis leans more towards a chronic carrier, maybe it can also be an acute stage that just began meaning low viral load that will rise with time, presence of HbsAg and HbeAg (Virus rapidly multiplying), anti HBC IgM takes abit of time to show too. Lack of antibodies show body immune system has not reacted yet. Check for presence of Hbc IgG antibody, If negative then the infection might be newly acquired. Re test after six months.
Avatar m tn It usually takes the immune system a few weeks to develop enough antibodies to be detected by an antibody test. A person who has been recently infected with HCV may be in the window period – the time it takes between initial infection and the development of antibodies. The average time it takes for people to develop HCV antibodies is 2 months, but can take as long as 6 months; however, this is uncommon.
