Hello my 12 year old was taking omnicef for a ear infection and 10 days into it she got hives all over her body and they come and go and really ichy do you think it's from the Omnicef?
I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question,
wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
I have a three year old nephew and this morning he decided to push really hard on the side on my stomach. Could this have caused anything bad to happen I'm only 6weeks so I'm scared it could've caused damage. Is that possible or am I over thinking it?

Your child is very young and is still developing. I would not want to medicate my child so that they were easier to handle in school for example.
When she developed this acrid mouth stench I took her in figuring a sinus infection. Well she had a barely red throat and the PA decided to check for strep which was positive. Never having dealt with strep I assumed the smell was from the bacteria of strep. The Amoxicillan they gave her did not work so we went back for Omnicef and after 2 doses of meds the smell was gone. Two weeks after meds the smell came back... back to the Dr. no strep... no answers....
Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!
My son (aged 2) has 3 enlarged nodes in his neck, one over 2inch long and pretruding, and one in his groin. He has seen the pedritician and they have said that 2 in his neck and 1 in his groin are all within the normal limits (although the one is larger than a grape?) the one that is longer than two inches she said was larger than normal but felt ok to her. They did a blood count (normal) and test for glandular fever and told me to not worry.
Swollen glands are non-specific. A swollen gland in your groin could be due to STD but it could also reflect skin infection in your leg on that side, athletes’, foot (really) or any number of other sources of inflammation. A single swollen gland as you describe is in no way suggestive of HIV.

I have posted on the STD forum, as that was my originial concern. I have now come to post here, as it looks like that is not what I have going on. 2 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with Impetigo and Folliculitis, most likely caused by the same bacteria living on my body. The doctor diagnosed the Impetigo by looking at it, and he prescribed me Doxycycline and Muporocin (SP?) After a few days, the Impetigo began to clear up. It was in the left corner of my lip.
I know this drug has worked for me 3 times in the past, but I am anxious about when I will start feeling the effects of it this time around. I have 2 little toddlers (4 and 2), and I need to be up and well for them, but it's so hard to even get out of bed in the morning. Any advice/suggestions or a supportive word? thanks!
I was reading about Avelox and it mentioned serious heart rhythm side effects - a rare heart called prolongation of QT interval. I am scared to death to take this. I did disclose to the doctor that I suffer from SVT but she didn't mention side effects or warnings. My question is.....has anyone had any reactions to this antibiotic? Are there any "heart friendly" antibiotics out there that I could ask to substitute?
