omnicef

Avatar n tn His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite. When we went to see his specialist, 6 days ago, he'd lost 4.5 lbs (in 40 days).
Avatar f tn I see one of the side effects are lowed white blood cells and right now mine are 2.9. Idk why theyre so low. Prob the lyme..? I am not used to have a LOW white count..
280418 tn?1306325910 I will definitely have your list in mind, though. I have had all but a few of those side effects. Part of me wonders which of those are herxing, though. I am taking a fistfull of supplements per my LLMD twice a day also. I am on a gluten free diet per Dr.s orders too. I think I'm in good hands and just have to watch my side effects/symptoms like a hawk.
Avatar n tn We are trying to avoid any side effects here. The longer a drug is taken, the chance for its side effects to manifest may be higher. Ask your physician about this. Putting you off the medication to see how you may fare without it will be necessary. After all, being on medication for long periods may not be very cost effective and may also result to unwanted side effects.
Avatar n tn Hello my 12 year old was taking omnicef for a ear infection and 10 days into it she got hives all over her body and they come and go and really ichy do you think it's from the Omnicef?
Avatar f tn Drug affect different people in many different ways. Just look at the side-effects listed on most drugs..... a long list and there are usually more. I have never had any reactions to antibiotics that I am aware of, but it appears you did, and others may as well.
Avatar n tn It's normal for infants and small children to have numerous colds that can linger for weeks. Most colds and ear infections are viral and antiobiotics are ineffective and can actually help in the creation of superbugs. Docs will often prescribe them to calm the parent. Just relax and wait it out. If this is your first child, your anxiety may be much higher than is necessary.
Avatar n tn I belong to a support group for teachers and parents of children suffering from anxiety. Many of the children take medication - including Celexa. About four children in our group are on this medication (all in conjuction with intervention and/or therapy). For these children, this "drug" seems to work the best with the fewest side effects. Our child takes Celexa - before that Prozac and Effexor. Celexa is the best one for her - so far.
Avatar f tn I was really scared of the side effects of the meds, and I waited to start taking them simply out of fear. Partly that's because Lyme etc. causes anxiety, so on top of being sick, I was anxious also because of the sickness, and all of that makes thinking clearly really hard. If that happens to you, know that you are not the only one who has been through it.
1346797 tn?1290651918 However, a couple of days later I developed severe pain in my right ear. The pain is so terrible that my right arm is going numb to the point it's hard to lift it and it's affecting my right leg as well. I went back to the doc today and prescribed me Omnicef antibiotics and Auroguard for the pain in my ear. Well the Auroguard seemed to help at first, but over the hours the pain has persistently gotten worse and the drops aren't working as well.
Avatar m tn m not sure if Zofran is used in children but you could ask. Tetrabenzene is used but that has some serious side effects so that might not be for children either. But there are other medications as well. Clonidine in patch form (Catapres) is especially helpful for tic like motions (tardive tourreticism which is a variant of tardive dyskinesia I have as well). I am on Tenex which is helpful as well. I believe both of those are used in children.
1367899 tn?1278121440 My sister and I started a blog on Adderall to learn more about the medication along with alternative and complementary ADHD treatment options. Any feedback from users of Adderall or Adderall XR would be greatly appreciated. Topics to be added this week on http://Adderall.org How is Adderall XR different from Adderall? [Adderall vs. Adderall XR] What is Adderall? How to Make Adderall: [Adderall Background Information] What are the best Adderall and ADHD books?
454366 tn?1211245301 Litium did give me a hyperactive thyroid condition. The med I was given for that has a side effect of osteoporosis in the lumbar in long term use (Synthroid). I ended up with litium toxicity a few years back because diuretics will cause that. As you know caffine is a diuretic (soft drinks) - which most kiddo's I know tend to drink. I would not allow litium to be given to my child; not going through what I have with it. I have a son who is ADHD.
Avatar f tn 1) Side effects of long use of medicines? I have heard of lever damage? How long will medications continue? Does changing medications every few months help? 2) Hate to exercise. Can walk though - is it helpful? How much to walk daily? 3) Easy to implement tips to reduce BP? 4) Will BP reduce lifespan or hinder me?
Avatar m tn Those side effects are not true, don't worry about what they have said. Masturbation is perfectly normal, and everybody masturbates, it's normal to feel confused about it, but it's perfectly harmless. Generally people don't like to talk about it, so it leads to people getting the wrong impression and maybe even feeling guilty.
Avatar n tn My son just called and asked if I could drive him and some friends to the ice skating rink and I sadly had to tell him to ask dad. I heard a bit of sadness in his voice (he is 11) since he and my other children know that mom is always the one to go to for things.Thankfully my husband agreed to drive them but I feel guilty because I know hubby is not going to pick up the slack when it comes to the kids and I am sure that they know this too.
Avatar m tn I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question, wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
Avatar m tn This does not seem to work as I still have foul smelling discharge from my nose and post nasal drip. My teeth on the left hand side of the mouth still hurt (but they do not seem to be the source of infection) and still have headaches. I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and if there are additional things I could be doing.
Avatar n tn are their any adults who took it as a child and had long-term negative or positive effects? Does it slow growth in children? Are their negative effects on school performance? I would really appreciate a doctor's opinion, or any other person who has had a child who has taken Prozac. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn I'm more worried about the hair thinning right now. I've seen posts about people thinking their hair thinning is a result of the medication. The side effects I've found is a long list and hair thinning has been mentioned. I'm scared to death and beginning to panic about it.
Avatar n tn m a little nervous of taking it after reading about some of the side effects. When I read that it can increase thoughts about suicide that really got my attention. My doc prescribed it for nerve pain but I'm not sure about the risk reward. In other words it may get rid of my nerve pain but then make me depressed and suicidal. NOT COOL!! Has anyone out there taken it for awhile and how did you do on it? Thanks for any advice you could give me.
Avatar m tn Please go through the below head CT scan results of a 6 year old boy and kindly confirm if a repeated head scan exposes the boy to too of radiation. 281209 tn?1209385426 I had a TT for papillary carcinoma in 7/07. I had a 30% uptake in my thyroid scan and they gave me 21mCi I-131 to bring down the dose. I just received my second dose (220mCi) last week, and expected nominal side effects. I've felt terrible since then. Loss of taste, overall nausea, etc. Anyone else go through this? My docs didn't mention anything about side effects (besides the normal salivary glands swelling). How long should I expect to feel this way?
Avatar f tn s so hard to predict how different people are going to respond to treatment in terms of side effects. Some people seem to go through with few problems, and others have varying degrees of side effects. There are also times during tx when you feel better and times you feel worse. I have seen many people with jobs make it through, and many folks with children also. You have to do what's best for you sometimes in order to be there for everyone else.
