Avatar f tn Neutrogena makes a no-alcohol toner, but The Body Shop has a Vitamin E Toner and an Aloe Vera Toner that work well without drying. Find a light, non-oily moisturizer (like Boots or Olay) for the day and a night cream (like Boots bergamot night cream or The Body Shop Aloe night cream). All of these products are under $15 ea.
Avatar f tn Mine was totally fine until I started my third trimester....now it's extremely oily and I have patches of flaky skin that are raw red itchy and very oily....does anyone have some clue as to what causes this and what will make it go away!!??
Avatar f tn The wash obviously cleanses the face but it also disturbes the skins natural ph so to restore that ph (which helps fight bacteria on the skin that causes pimples) you need to use the toner. Also the moisturizer may seem unnecessary if your skin is already oily but if your skin is not getting the moisture it needs, your body tells your oil producing skin cells to work overtime and produce more, therefore causing oily skin.
Avatar f tn I noticed my normal/dry skin starting to become very oily. Now I have clusters of zits? Im 28 weeks now and 28 years old....anything anyone can recommend for skin care?

615350 tn?1272598969 I wash my face daily with antibacterial soap and use glycolic acid toner and cleanser that dries my skin out like crazy. I also use a niva visage spf 15 anti wrinkle cream daily. My pores are huge and and they seem to hold dirt well and now I have dirty looking skin from all of these little bnack heads on my face. What is a good cleanser for black heads and good moisturizer that wont cause black heads.
Avatar f tn Try an anti bacterial facial soap that's gentle, get a non alcohol toner and a thick lotion on all areas except your t zone. I've been studying skin since forever now because I broke out really bad as well, that's what I found to help.

Avatar f tn m confused, I recently started using this mild face wash and says it contains salycilic acid because after a long time my cheeks that are clear grew 1 pimple (days before that it started being oily and having small tiny skin tone bumps). my skin was better for 5 days then suddenly I started getting 3 pimples on my cheeks and now after they start healing new ones appear. Im confused whether or not a mild face fash is causing me to purge or am i just breaking out?

Avatar n tn Unless your skin is very strong and oily, I would not use salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or toner in conjunction with a prescription topical gel. Doing so can lead to irritation, redness, peeling etc. I would use a bland cleanser such as Cetaphil and continue with the prescription gel and tablets.
Avatar n tn They gave me super super oily skin. I started using retinoids when I was 14 years old and my skin was normal except for acne, and now I"m 19 and I stopped using them. My skin was oily all through my time using the retinoids but now that I'm off them my skin is still freakin oily. I've been off the retinoids for almost three months now. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. Their is not a dern thing the dermatologist can do about super oily skin.
Avatar f tn Hi Maggiemae, hope your treatment is going well. Certain drugs are known to trigger acne and your skin will improve once they are out of your system. There are lots of useful products which benefit acneic skin without over drying. I like Estee Lauder's Sparkling Clean cleanser and toner for oily skin, followed by their Clear Difference oil control hydrator. Apply Freederm (nicotinamide) to affected areas. This will clear acne by reducing the inflammation, rather than drying out the skin.
Avatar n tn While irritation from pillow, phone, soap or detergent may be factors, it may also be triggered by a variety of factors such as hormonal changes related to puberty, menstrual periods, stress, greasy or oily cosmetic and hair products, certain medications and high levels of humidity and sweating. If it persists, it is best that you check with your dermatologist for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I've used apple cider vinegar as a toner seems to calm and fade out the acne.
Avatar f tn Hi Eloise. , I agree, a heathly diet, lots of water and exercise are essential to healthy skin. Our skin is our biggest organ and like our heart or kidneys it will respond well to generally being healthy. There are so many products out there that claim to get rid of acne, believe me I've tried most of them. The first thing to look at is your cleansing routine.
Avatar m tn I've been looking at lots of skin care products lately because I'm getting way more into how I look and I'm trying to look good but the thing is, I don't know my skin type.. at all. Whenever I look online it says dry, normal/combination or oily but I'm not sure which I fit into.
Avatar f tn Authentic African Black soap has worked wonders along with coconut oil for a moisturizer. Thinking about whither hazel for a toner. And I'm hoping this is a girl because I don't remember felling this ugly with my son.
Avatar n tn This could make oil glands to become more active and makes oily skin oilier. It would be best to stop these skin care products for the time being. And it is important to keep your face clean and dry all the time. Avoid using any chemicals or masks in the face. Are there other signs or symptoms present? If you have a history of allergies, this could also be the case. Anti histamine medications may be helpful with the itching.
Avatar n tn Murad products are quite harsh so your skin must be strong and oily, meaning you are unlikely to suffer sensitivity from using a new skin care regime. Clinique make a good range for blemish prone skin including cleanser, soap, chest and back spray, treatment gel and post blemish formula. Have you thought about asking your doctor for oral acne medication to use in addition to your topical regime?
1661017 tn?1302629897 Sometimes a patch goes then another appears, so I never have clear skin. Overwise I have healthy skin, I cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day with Clinique anti-blemish solutions which got rid of my normal spots a few years ago. I also eat a pretty varied diet and take multivitamins and omega 3 every day. I do some exercise, but could do with more. I also steam my face a few times a week and use a facial scrub once a week. The doctors have said it folicitis, fungal infection and ezcema.
Avatar m tn Its moderate but it really bugs me. I would classify my skin as oily and can become dry after using acne products. For a little under a month I used Tea Tree Oil and it seemed to lessen the acne some but not completely. But I still have a few larger pimples and around 10 little whiteheads and lots of blackheads,my acne is located on my chin, nose, and forehead. So today I started this Acne Free System with 3 steps all using benzoyl peroxide(cleanser, toner, repair lotion, and blemish terminator).
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your advice. In reply to your questions, for cleanser, I use a gel facewash from l'oreal or sebaderm soap (I can't remember the name but it's the one that is ph 5.5). I find I break out with most cleansers/soaps/toners/makeup/sunscreen including those for sensitive skin so am limited to using products that don't cause breakouts. I sometimes use a toner, which is alcohol-free and contains rosewater.
