Common Questions and Answers about Oily skin foundation

skin

Avatar f tn Since you have oily skin you might want to try loose powder foundation (any brand) like bare mineral because it absorb the natural oil from your skin and it doesn't give you the shine or oily face by the end of the day. Liquid foundation only good for natural to dry skin only.

Avatar f tn About 6 months ago, I started experiencing super oily skin and MASSIVE acne!!! I am 28 yrs old and have never had acne problems before!! I switched my foundation to an oil-free version and it's better, but by no means healed... Trying the dish detergent on my hair tomorrow... DOCTORS, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! I don't understand why - without any change to product or daily life - one would experience such drastic and sudden changes!?!
Avatar m tn I am a 50 year old female with extremely oily skin. I've had this problem since I was 12. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have taken ultra low doses of accutane to help control the oil production and if there were any side effects they experienced at this age.
Avatar n tn I sometimes moisturize the rest of my face, except my forehead when it feels dry. The oiliness is decreasing, I don't wake up with oily shiny skin. However, the bumps/clogged pores on my forehead and post acne marks (hyperpigmentation) aren't really improving. I've been using cleansers/exfoliants with salycylic acid for around 3 weeks now because I researched that it's great for men's tough and thick skin.
Avatar n tn I sometimes get those great big deep bumps that take forever to clear up, usually every other month, in which almost always seems to leave a small scar. What can I do ? I have pretty oily skin, so I don't use any oil products on my face at all, I don't wear foundation make-up at all. Any suggestions ? Avatar f tn Clinique even better foundation makeup will make skin even and over time can improve imperfections and uneven skin. But your best bet is to just do a good cleanse regularly like cookie8880 said.
Avatar n tn The only thing that seemd to help the redness was steroids in a cream, but I was informed by my doctor that long term steroid use isn't good for the skin. I have read about Vitamin B5 to reduce oily skin, but not sure what that would help. I want to solve my problem from the source, and I know it has to be all connected in some way.
Avatar f tn I wash my face twice a day and after each wash I put on cerave moisturizer lotion. I have really oily skin and had medium/slightly severe acne. But pregnancy has kind of made my face a lot better.
Avatar f tn Each morning, I have to scrub off the flaking skin, and put on a good moisturizer so that i can put my foundation on evenly. During the day, my skin gets pretty oily, I can soak those oil absorbing sheets completely atleast a few times daily. Since I am concerned about the damage I inflict on my skin aswell as my breakouts, I wonder if i should focus on making my skin healthy, and not continuing to dry it out with chemicals. I just need some good advice.
Avatar n tn than suffered from very bad break outs my skin was red and had bumps that turned into acne. i always had an oily sheen even after just washing my face, very shiny i am now 29,i get a few little pimples a week that last a day of two, they are not bumps just enlarged pores with white stuff in them that clear up after i evacuate them. if i squeeze my skin on my cheeks or nose een when a pimple is not present, white stuff comes out.(yes i know you shouldn't do this.
242516 tn?1368227505 Spending time in the sun is the best thing about the summer, but unfortunately the worst thing for your unprotected skin. Not only can it lead to skin cancer, it can result in premature wrinkling, discoloration, and changes in texture. Here are some ways to avoid the harmful effects of the sun without having to hide from the bright warmth of summer: 1) Slather on sunscreen every day. No matter how long you spend outdoors, sunlight streaming indoors can expose you to damaging UVA rays.
Avatar f tn So I've hit the dry flakey skin stage, It's horrible, I can't even wear foundation anymore because it makes it look patchy , I've always put moisturizer on daily but that isn't making any difference, are you ladies using for your dryskin that works?
Avatar n tn that's is most likely not skin cancer at all. it sounds like tinea versicolor possibly. google that term and look at the images. if that's what you have it is a fungal infection that is often times caught in tanning beds. that is absolutely not the only place people catch it, but common. and it is very very common on the chest and back. easily treatable. you'll need a prescription. skin cancer comes by way of scaly sores, weird bumps , lesions etc.
Avatar n tn After all these years with oily skin,I am now 67 yrs old ,I got an itchy rash on my forearms mostly, but a few small patches here and there about the size of a quarter, The more I scratch them the itchier they get , Went to the doctor he says dry skin he prescribed some steroid cream for two weeks, and then to use Eucerin lotion on the affected areas, also change to dove bar soap in the shower ,no hot showers either,That was two weeks ago It seems to be clearing up the problem, somewhat ,I wished
Avatar m tn I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.
Avatar f tn Bronner's Tea Tree liquid soap (one with the orange label) as it contains antimocrobial essential oils (does not clog pores or leave skin oily). Avoiding sugar & antibiotics was also key for me. I hope this helps!
Avatar n tn I started noticing what had always been relatively oily skin drying out — permanently — within two weeks of finishing the drug and within a year I had gone from having very youthful skin to extremely dry, loose skin everywhere: face, neck, elbows, hands, knees, eyelids, you name it. Awful. Vein and joint damage too. I remain interested in knowing whether anyone else reporting skin problems here was prescribed a quinolone within the year or so before they surfaced.
325789 tn?1208185819 ) But I can't seem to have an even skin tone without some sort of heavy makeup, and if I put on liquid foundation, it just makes me break out. If I had even skin tone, I could just dust on a neutral powder and go! Does anyone have any tips to help even out skin tone without using any of those artificial tanners? I'm fair-skinned, so anything to dark looks clownish on me... Thanks!!
Avatar m tn not oily or dry. Mat Lumiere on slightly oily skin. It's full coverage so no skin peeks through. Moisturize. I guess you really have to know your skin. If you have oily skin u might want to use a primer. Try puttting concealer on under foundation so it doesn't show and try not to use a lot of foundation. Use like a pea size and buff it in with a MAC 187 Duo Fiber Brush or 190 Foundation Brush. Too much powder makes you look cakey too so avoid using too much.
Avatar n tn my skin is very oily and has many pink scars, the acne has subsided after 8 weeks on neobenz, differin and an oral antibiotic, however i do occasionally break out around my period. i was wondering if Microdermabrasion is a good solution to my oily skin, scars and occasional breakouts and if at home microdermabrasion has similar benifits. i am 15 female. ps would a chemical peel be better? what about at home chemical peels?
Avatar f tn You said that your skin is oily so I think you should care more for such kind of skin types. You need to consult a good skin doctor in the first place. Know your skin and then treat it fairly. One of my friends had same issue and she got an acne treatment done from a cosmetic surgery clinic, Fairview Laser Clinic in Toronto. It worked well on her. I was so surprised to see her last time with her charming old clear skin again. But I don’t know whether it work shall on for you.
Avatar f tn Estee lauder make an excellent range for oily skin. Their sparkling clean cleanser can be used frequently without irritation. Use their toner on your t-zone to absorb oil. They also make a facial scrub which will really help with blackheads. If you wear foundation try their ideal matte foundation which absorbs oil. if the oil leads to blemishes see your doctor for a course of antibiotics.
Avatar n tn i exfoliate twice a week, always moisturize and clean my face religiously. i have oily-dry combo skin. i haven't changed anything other than switching to a different foundation. could it be hormones? stress from a new relationship? my foundation? i really need help!!
312540 tn?1202313187 ) I have oily uneven skin tone and this makes my skin look flawless. it stays all day and makes your skin look health. it's cheaper than the brands u mentioned and u can pick it up in walgreens for about 8 bucks. :) good luck!
Avatar n tn I try to cover this up with foundation, but my skin always flakes and makes it look worse. I have tried several facial lotions, scrubs, etc. to help with the flaking, but nothing works. Any suggestions?
