Do u guys like the nuva ring(those of u who have tried it)? I've had it before, but only like three months because it was too expensive. (My mom still paid for my bc at that time). I liked it and I am thinking about getting back on it after my baby comes. Its gotta be less expensive than another baby. I can't remember to take the pill(that's how I got pregnant) and the implants and iuds scare me. Do u like it? How much does it cost u?
I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before. I took the ring i had in out, and went back to work for four hours until i could pick up my new nuvaring at the pharmacy after work. I put it in as soon as i got home, thinking i was putting it in on the first day of my period so i would be immediately protected. I woke up the next morning and now there is no blood, so i must not be having a period.
Your doctor will tell which day of your menstrual cycle to insert the first vaginal ring you use. During the first 7 days of using your first vaginal ring, you may need to use back-up birth control, such as condoms or a spermicide. Follow your doctor's instructions.
The NuvaRing should be left in place for 3 full weeks. Remove the ring after 3 weeks, on the same day of the week it was inserted at about the same time of day. Allow 1 full week to pass before inserting the new ring.
Throw the ring away and choose 1 of the 2 options below:
1. Insert a new ring immediately. This begins the next 3-week use period. You may not have a period but you may experience breakthrough spotting or bleeding.
2. Have your period and insert a new ring no later than 7 days from the time the previous ring was removed or expelled. This option should be chosen only if the ring was used continuously for the preceding 7 days.
I've been on Nuvaring for 5-6 months now and I've skipped my period for 2 months now but I keep on spotting so I want to have a ring free week where i'll have my period, now that I want to have my period, will I still be protected from pregnancy for my ring free week even though I've been using the nuvaring continuiously to skip my period?
I just decided to get on birth control & my Dr. has put me on Nuvaring. I was using condoms before & just got tired of them. I have now been using Nuvaring for a little over a week now, & am currently not taking any other drugs (just on the ring). Everything has been fine until today... I am now experiencing chest pain. I do not have a family history of any blood clotting issues, but I am concerned because I have read some of the horror stories on-line.
If the nuvaring was not remove until 4week after insertion, when removed should you get you cycle right way? And do you count that as your normal cycle?
I've had nuvaring in for three weeks now I took it out 7am this morning for my 7 days off. I'm waiting to start my period now.
I would call your doctor and ask them. Also, take a HPT. There's a small chance you could be pregnant. If you used condoms I highly doubt it but if you happen to be pregnant you don't want to put the ring back in and risk harming the fetus in any way. I was on the Nuvaring for 2 years and never had this problem but when I took it out my period started within 2 days. It never took 5 days. I would call your doctor and ask them about that too. i miscarried at 8 weeks with blighted ovum and after that devestation i used nuvaring again and this time faithfully.......i took out my nuvaring and didnt think much of it until the next day when i started throwing up everywhere! i bought a test for the hell of it and it said PREGNANT! i was in complete shock because i had been on the nuvaring for a while! i used at end of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and found out i was pregnant in october!!!

It can be due to friction rub or chafing with the nuva ring or due to allergic reaction to the Nuvaring or the vaginal lubricant if you are using any. Use a water based lubricant like KY jelly or indulge in plenty of foreplay so that there are less chances of an allergic reaction.

Many people have experienced pains and light bleeding while having intercourse and using nuvaring. It seems to affect everyone differently, but it's very likely the nuvaring is the source of your problems. I would suggest trying a different form of birth control, as this one is obviously not for you.
ve started voltrex and Tylenol 3s for the pain. The outbreak started mid period. I am supposed to be inserting a new nuvaring in a few days. Sadly the outbreak will not be over. I'm concerned that inserting the ring will allow the virus access to the inside of my vagina. Currently the sores are all external. I will have to touch the sores to be able to effectively insert the nuvaring. Is it safe to do so mid-outbreak or should i wait a few weeks until it clears up.
started nuva ring for the first time 2 weeks ago . I always no matter what use a condom but the condom broke . I went to the bathroom and though I have Nuva ring in, it's like my period has started where I have blood but it's not a heavy like a regular period it's more like a watered down blood . is this normal ? what are the chances if me getting pregnant ? should I go get a plan b pill ?
Why is my period on again after inserting the nuvaring?? I thought it was suppose to stop when u insert it in the vigina and your period comes on after taking it out... I'm confused why is my period on again while my nuvaring is inserted??
Hi board! I had a question for you! I just finished my 3rd month of using the NuvaRing. I recently switched from Yaz that I had been on for years. My question is that my "period" came on the day is usually does (4th day after I take out the ring), and my "period" this time is all very light, brownish discharge! Only a couple of times have I seen a hint of red in the discarge!
I was on the Nuvaring for 3 months and I WOULD NOT recommend it, especially if you have a history of depression. The Nuvaring turned me into a psycho, constantly crying for no reason sometimes. I had suicidal thoughts, feelings of worthlessness. I was just insane. I took it out today and said goodbye to all the madness.I don't know if it's just a mind thing, but I feel chipper already. It's convenient but it's not worth the pain.
The ring is very uncomfortable for both me and my Boyfriend during sex...to the point were my boyfriend loses his erection anytime we try and have sex. Can i take the nuvaring out to have sex then put it back in after and still be protected. Two different pharmacist, and a few people who have used the nuvaring in the past have said yes but my Dr. said no. I don't really know who to believe.
