Common Questions and Answers about Mupirocin uses pharmacist

bactroban

Avatar n tn Ask the Pharmacist at the drug store you got them from, if they were prescribed call and ask the Doctor ...
Avatar n tn You can. If you're not sure where it is, just ask the pharmacist. It's usually found in an aisle nearest to the pharmacist counter and in the laxatives section. It's usually on the very top or the very bottom shelf. I find, though, that for better IBS-C control, as well as better migraine control, it is far better to supplement with magnesium citrate everyday. This is not the same thing as the liquid medication you're talking about.

Avatar m tn A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. Some stubborn cases of folliculitis have been responsive to laser-assisted hair removal. This process uses a laser to destroy the follicle. This reduces the scarring that results from folliculitis. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent.
976897 tn?1379167602 Last tuesday morning I was having a laugh and joke with my pharmacist having just been given a fresh supply of medication. He was out of stock of one item and I had to return the next morning, so I joked "if I'm still alive then". He had been for a full medical the day before and was classed as very fit for a 67 year old. He was athletic in build, never smoked, never drank, had normal cholesterol, normal blood pressure and yet that afternoon he died of a heart attack.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm from Hyderabad, India. I've got this unusual rash (not prickly heat rash) just between my nose and upper lip. I usually get it like once in a year or two when my body is overheated (not overheated in the literal meaning but due to working overtime and getting very little rest) Once i get it, its very uncomfortable, itchy and it keeps spreading if untreated. Rash develops into pus cells or water buds that are ready to explode upon little pressure.
Avatar f tn Hello~I would ask your pharmacist, they are highly trained in the uses and adverse reactions to drugs. I also did some research and could not find any definitive answers. I would say that probably at least 12 hours apart, but again, your best answer will come from a professional such as your pharmacist.
Avatar m tn Are you saying your mother in law has Leukemia? Filgastin or Neupogen is used for that. I don't know of other uses for it. She can't get it in the Philippines? If you can get a prescription from her doctor perhaps you can get it from a pharmacy here. Have a talk with a pharmacist here at one of the stores like Rite Aid, CVS any of those and see if they allow that.
Avatar f tn Application of antiseptic washes may help prevent recurrences. A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. If there any of the mentioned medical causes then treating those will reduce the occurence of the condition. http://www.dermatologychannel.net/follicle/folliculitis.
Avatar f tn Accidentally, I sprayed mupirocin/Dextamethasone 5GM/45ML/0.1%, a compounded nasal preparation, in my eye. I rinsed the eye with water for about one minute. Eye has had 5 retina surgeries, has band kerapothy, and no lens. PCC told me it's ok because the mupirocin is also used for eye preparations. Correct?
Avatar n tn I agree. If he is going to several different doctors and they are unaware of him being on other medications, they may prescribe a medication that works similar. while cymbalta may treat major depression it is also used for anxiety disorders. It can also be used to treat a chronic pain disorder called fibromyalgia, and to treat neuropathy pain. The Wellbutrin is specifically for depression, so there is some concern here because if he uses the cymbalta, he shouldnt need the wellbutrin. But.....
Avatar m tn It was originally identified as staph and treated with Mupirocin and Clobetasol by my Dr. Unfortunately 2 weeks of use has done nothing. I haven't been able to see her again so I figured I'd post here. I have a feeling this could be fungal, but am not sure. As you can see in the pic, it is a red irritation and slightly raised. It has shown only minor response to both clobetasol and mupirocin. It has never itched.

Avatar m tn But, I thought I applied mupirocin onto my face because of a minor injury. So I am wondering if mupirocin could affect my test result and made it false-negative?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. Will I be able to get mupirocin over the counter? Since I don't have ins, can't go to the doctor. Thanks.
Avatar n tn This is a steriod used for psorasis or dermatitis. My daughter uses it. It must really burn. Call the pharmacist in your area and find out what to do. Children do not get yeast infections.
Avatar f tn If you can't reach your OB, could you talk to a pharmacist? Don't know where you live, but there may be a 24 hour pharmacy in your area. I would definitely find out from a professional before taking it. Some meds have off label uses, but I would double check with your care provider.
Avatar m tn will this cause worse scarring? I apply ointment onto it daily that contains mupirocin. how long should it take to heal?
Avatar n tn I think what I have is called mupirocin. Is there any medication you recomend.

612551 tn?1450022175 There are various OTC saline-type nasal gels one can use, but the pharmacist told me that the best thing is plain old K-Y Jelly, because it's non-allergenic, non-irritating, and cheap. Some docs recommend heavier ointments, and among them, a topical nasal antibiotic called Mupirocin or Bactroban is remarkably effective in preventing bleeding. However, since it's an antibiotic, doctors don't want to prescribe it for long-term use.
Avatar f tn Hey just wondering if anyone else uses icy hot. My knees have been killing me I barely slept last night because of the pain and I would love to use it tonight but I'm not sure if it's safe to use daily.
4274823 tn?1388529098 Both Synthroid and Eltroxin have the same active ingredient, levothyroxine sodium. The only difference between the 2 or any other T4 meds is the manufacturer and the inactive fillers/binders, since each manufacturer uses different ones. A 25 mcg Synthroid will be equivalent to 25 mcg Eltroxin. It's possible that in your area, Eltroxin may be less expensive than Synthroid. Most brands are less expensive than Synthroid.
