bactroban

Avatar f tn Accidentally, I sprayed mupirocin/Dextamethasone 5GM/45ML/0.1%, a compounded nasal preparation, in my eye. I rinsed the eye with water for about one minute. Eye has had 5 retina surgeries, has band kerapothy, and no lens. PCC told me it's ok because the mupirocin is also used for eye preparations. Correct?
Avatar n tn Ask the Pharmacist at the drug store you got them from, if they were prescribed call and ask the Doctor ...
Avatar n tn Have you heard of alternate uses for Armidex? I have endometriosis stage 4, I had 2 surgeries in 2006, and my surgeon is putting me on Armidex to try to control the pain. Is this a common use for this medicine?
Avatar f tn m allergic to Murpirocin, neosporin, bacitracin, clindamycin, metronidazole all topicals and had a syncope from a tetracycline type drug. My brother is anaphylaxic to penicillin. It sounds like you can tolerate Mupirocin but the topical isn't enough for your tissue infection. Celluitis can be pretty deep in the tissue so if it isn't working either the bacteria are resistant to it or it isn't penetrating the tissue well enough.

Avatar m tn A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. Some stubborn cases of folliculitis have been responsive to laser-assisted hair removal. This process uses a laser to destroy the follicle. This reduces the scarring that results from folliculitis. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent.
616582 tn?1225068601 Bactroban is actually mupirocin not an ointment of Bactrim. So it is a different antibiotic. If you were allergic to Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprin) I would think you would react to it all over your body if it is a pill form. A lot of people are allergic to the sulfa drug in the Bacterim. Did you have a pill or ointment? The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm from Hyderabad, India. I've got this unusual rash (not prickly heat rash) just between my nose and upper lip. I usually get it like once in a year or two when my body is overheated (not overheated in the literal meaning but due to working overtime and getting very little rest) Once i get it, its very uncomfortable, itchy and it keeps spreading if untreated. Rash develops into pus cells or water buds that are ready to explode upon little pressure.
Avatar n tn The school he goes to drug screens him and it has always come back positive for PCP. No other drug screens - the criminal justice system or the hospital's test are positive for anything. Could any of his meds be the reason that he is showing up positive. He is not acting out when he has the positive screens so I have to believe it is the combination or one of the meds but the school believes otherwise. Help!

Avatar f tn Application of antiseptic washes may help prevent recurrences. A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. Avatar m tn It was originally identified as staph and treated with Mupirocin and Clobetasol by my Dr. Unfortunately 2 weeks of use has done nothing. I haven't been able to see her again so I figured I'd post here. I have a feeling this could be fungal, but am not sure. As you can see in the pic, it is a red irritation and slightly raised. It has shown only minor response to both clobetasol and mupirocin. It has never itched.
Avatar n tn If someone uses heroin once during week26of pregnancy will it show up in babys 1st stool also called. The mecomium when tested@birth?!?!
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone on this forum has had experience with this drug and if it helped them. I know we are all different and our reactions are different, I am just hoping it works without too many side affects. Urgency is not my greatest problem at the moment and it talks about that on the website for it but it's more my burning and spasms but the burning is the worse. B.T.W. I am on the 10mg. Cheers, Udkas.

Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. Will I be able to get mupirocin over the counter? Since I don't have ins, can't go to the doctor. Thanks.
Avatar m tn will this cause worse scarring? I apply ointment onto it daily that contains mupirocin. how long should it take to heal?

Avatar m tn I was prescribed Mupirocin for a non-healing nasal ulcer. I used it for about 2 days then woke up with a bad headache today from the get go. I've tried everything I can. I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief.
Avatar f tn I recently called in a old prescription for mupirocin 2% ointment. My question is if I use it as directed will it help clear up these ugly bites? Summer is coming up and I don't want my legs to look bad this summer please help and let me know if the cream will work!
Avatar f tn Are you asking because you are afraid of exposure to the drug or because you are on a random drug-testing regime? It sounds like the sex would not so much expose you to the effects of the drug as it might be detectable on a sensitive drug test. If your job hinges on clean drug tests and you're being tested randomly, I would take this risk seriously.
Avatar m tn There should be someone in you doctors office who knows how to get you an advocate. The advocate will call you and get you the approval from the pharmacy that you ins. uses. As far as vertex they were wonderful call them directly and they will work with you doctors office and advocate to get the drug approval and get it into you the pharmacy you will be using if it's not already there. The receptionist doesn't know these things. You have to find the one person in the office that does.
