Avatar f tn anyway, I had a bunch of eye tests done and the eye doctor said it was not optic neuritis or any other MS related reason. well the symptoms almost completely subsided for about two weeks. Then the other day the tingling came back, almost worse. Now im truly concerned I have MS. however, i dont have weakness or clumsiness along with the tingling. just super annoying tingles. I becoming very depressed because I should be focusing on my new baby but im over consumed with ideas of having MS.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have been having odd symptoms for the past few days. My left hand was tingling along with numbness. My right arm has had the feeling of pins and needles along with my right leg. There is some pain along with it. I am concerned about this. I have called to make an appt, but can't be seen due to the pandemic. It will be a video chat. I am wondering what I can possibly gain from this appt. Could this be MS? I am aware that such symptoms can be anything else as well.
Avatar f tn Sounds like you are in the beginning phases where you are dealing with a lot of MS symptoms ontop of starting a disease modifier. This I can relate to. It's often hard to tell what is causing what. Is this the MS, is it the meds, and what the (insert bad word here) is going on with me? blah! It all rots. My advice like the others is to mention it to the doctors, as well as the betaseron folks.
Avatar f tn While I was living in blissful ignorance My MS was slowly progressing. Little seemingly insignificant things like tingling hands or feet became part of my life. Your MS is active all the time. Generally speaking there are 2 kinds of MS symptoms, those associated with a relapse and those we have every day. If you're just coming out of a relapse it may be hard to tell which is which. Only time will tell.
Avatar n tn But again MS can have all known symptoms. Your worry about MS will itself increase the twitching in the muscles. You should get yourself assessed by a Neurologist and get any further tests if necessary. Keep me posted.
Avatar f tn i was also just looking at the ms symptoms and i dont have any except for tingling and i got vertigo over a yr and a half ago while pregnant
Avatar f tn MS is largely a diagnosis of exclusion. The numbness and tingling could be so many things. I suggest making a list of your symptoms and taking them in to your doctor. You can start ruling out by looking into your depression and headaches first Follow the link on the upper right of this page 'Health Pages'. Study through the symptoms of MS etc.
Avatar m tn It could be many things. Have you had a basic neurological exam with a GP? That is where I would start. If they find something then see a neurologist.
Avatar f tn Hi Thanks so much for caring about my case. Well to asnwer your questions, Yes when I do get the ocassional tingling in the right arm is in the same fingers as the left one. I work in an office, desk work 8 hrs per day. The tingling comes and goes, when I get it it normally last for 4 or 5 hours in a 1 or 2 day period each day. All I know that my doctor run blood work to see if I have any vitamin deficiencies and he did mentioned he was testing vitamin B.
Avatar f tn o) personally I dont think your making more of whats going on, though whats causing these symptoms is really difficult to say. MS actually has many mimics, ANA is not associated to MS at all, it is for Lupus though that is another difficult to dx condition.
Avatar f tn I am going tomorrow for the results of my MRI of Brain and Spine, VEP (visual evoked potential) and EMG. Of course I have alot of anxiety because I have exhibited several MS symptoms. About 20 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and I am hypothyroid. My questions is would anyone be willing to tell me some of the symptoms they were experiencing prior to your MS diagnosis?
Avatar f tn m not a doc, but I would suspect you chiari malfomation as the cause of your symptoms before I suspected MS resulting from a Vitgamin D deficiency. There is a connection between Vit. D and MS, but ot hasn't been determined whether the deficiency contributes to the onset of MS or MS causes the deficiency. All by it self a Vit. D deficiency does not indicate MS. As alex suggested, I would seek the advice of a neurologist.
Avatar n tn Keep in mind that MS isnt a genetically inheritable type of disease, so the odds are overwhelmingly higher for someone dx to be the only person in their family to be dx with MS but having said that, whilst its less common to have multiple family members dx with MS, it does still happen...
Avatar m tn Also, has anyone had muscle twitches with a diagnosis of MS? I hear it is not a sign of MS but have read patients with MS might experience them.
Avatar f tn I’ve been having terrible headaches, feeling like there’s stuff moving around in the brain along with strange neurological sensations - muscle twitches and jerks, tingling all over, inability to sleep on some nights due to these symptoms exacerbating at night time, very bad pressure in my head and spinal column, very vivid dreams, the list goes on. Started up very suddenly in the middle of the night in March and hasn’t subsided since. I recently redid my brain MRI and cervical, both normal.
Avatar n tn took a numbness at top of left leg while out shopping and it seemed to last for 2 days and told my daughter whose brother in law has ms and she told me he had tingling in hands and legs the following day i had tingling in left leg and it has not yet went away and it also sometimes in hands and does not appear to be so prevalent when i don't think about it I now have a sore neck and across shoulders into both arms. I have convinced myself i have ms Please can you help.
Avatar m tn One week ago, I started feeling tingling sensations in my lips. I immediately started to think about MS and proceeded to panic. Shortly after, my face felt heavy , I felt as though I couldn't move my lips as well or swallow as easily. I still am perceiving these issues. Not only do these tingling sensations afflict me in my lips, but they also strike in my hands and feet. I also have felt fatigued this past week. I have also experienced cotton mouth this week.
Avatar f tn Keep in mind that MS is only 1 medical explanation for many different types of symptoms, it genuinely might not be a neurological condition like MS, so try if you can to not become too focused on any specific medical condition at this stage of your testing... Hope that helps.........
Avatar f tn m not sure where to turn so thank you in advance for any guidance. My 26 year old son is exhibiting symptoms of what sounds like MS. He is a current graduate student in an allied health field. In October 2016 he was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis. At that time he had sudden onset of vertigo, nystagmus, tinnitus. Was treated with a steroid and seemed to resolve in about a week.
Avatar m tn All over twitches/tingling are not a typical ms symptom. They would more likely be due to a vitamin deficiency or anxiety. I have ms, and also have twitchig -- however it's due to low magnesium in my case, rather than being related to ms. Your best bet is to head to your gp and get some blood work done ... things like B12, vitamin D, magnesium etc. Make sure you don't have any glaring deficiencies, but if you do, they are easily supplemented.
Avatar f tn my first symptoms were stroke like symptoms. I could not walk the next day. it was hard to lift my legs.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have been having odd symptoms for a few weeks. It has been tingling, pin and needles, and numbness in right and left hands. My right leg has been having some tingling and pins and needles as well. I did video appt with a neurologist here and he ordered MRI of cervical spine, which was negative. I would like to have an actual visit in the office to have a better assessment. I am wondering if having a EMG done so early would even detect ALS?
Avatar f tn I know the joint pain from a year ago does not correlate with ms but my symptoms now seem to match more with an ms diagnosis. The neuro doc I just saw blew off the ms diagnosis due to a clean brain mri but did not order any additional tests. I've had these symptoms now for a month and I'm very concerned as to what may be going on. Any advice? Does this sound like ms? needles but more like a weird chill thy passes through and stops.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone. I guess I'm wondering what my level of worry should be at this point. The main symptom I'm concerned about is when I sit at my desk at work and often when I'm walking or jogging, I'll get a tingling, numbness sensation in the tips of my feet. The area is from the ball of both feet into all toes. It comes and goes for approx 1 month now. My problem is I have suffered health anxiety in the past for many years for which I took Aropax (Ant-depressant) for.
