Avatar f tn I started having a spike in my symptoms on the 3rd day of the steroids. My symptoms have continued to get worse. Last night I started having burning pain in my neck, shoulders, back, chest, and arms. I have never had pain like this! It even hurts to the touch! Could this be from the steroids? Is there anything I can do to help calm the flare? My doctor has not returned my calls, so I am just concerned and don't know what to do!

372366 tn?1284403873 So, after treatment he went to a Pain Management Clinic. After doing some tests the Pain Specialist believes he has MS or Mylenopthy. I have noticed his memory getting worse and he does not make much sense when he talks. He has been using a cane for almost three years now. He walks about 200-300 feet and gets exhausted. He explains the pain like someone put a knife in his joints. other times it is like his legs is on fire.
Avatar f tn ve been to my pcp numerous times over the last 5 years or so with different symptoms and complaints, like severe pain and spasm in neck and back. 6 months ago I was in the er with back spasms so severe I couldn't walk followed up with my doc just received stronger muscle relaxers. I was already taking muscle relaxers for probably 5 years. I was already going to PT 2-4 times a week for over a year.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with ms around 2001. I was then undiagnosed after I had a 2nd opinion. During that period of time I was on rebif and betaseron. I stopped the treatment after the 2nd opinion and had little minor problems that did not affect my life until 2009 when I woke up with double vision that lasted 6 months. I had new lesions on my brain and I had lesions on my spine..I had previously had brain lesions but not spine. I had another episode of double vision in 2011.
Avatar f tn Imbalance, heavy legs, ping pain, urination issues, bowels having a mind of their own, physical fatigue, depression/mood for no apparent reason Over the years my symptoms have morphed into a multiple of various conditions that are never a perm stay. Time range from a few moments to days on end. Then gone. Then come back. Then gone again.
Avatar f tn o) personally I dont think your making more of whats going on, though whats causing these symptoms is really difficult to say. MS actually has many mimics, ANA is not associated to MS at all, it is for Lupus though that is another difficult to dx condition.
Avatar f tn Hi MsErika, I too am sorry you are having so many problems and seemingly no help. I know it's the last thing you are going to want to hear, but I can see where you may have to start again fresh w/another Dr. Or, at least revisit the old one for a recap. Maybe a general MD. Share your frustration with the Dr. about your top few problems. With all these symptoms it's going to be hard for the Dr. to zero in on one area.
1896537 tn?1381900009 I think I need to start this dmd and maybe get some sort of nerve test to see if the hand pain really is due to the MS. The sensation varies so much from an ache to a throbbing pain. Today is more like tiny shocks. Very odd but then so are most MS symptoms! I'm guessing nerve damage is what bothers me then as I've had a couple of definite flares and they're very different. I think if I was able to rest occasionally that would also help but hey ho, such is busy family life!
Avatar n tn ve had symptoms for 41/2 years with MS a possibility. Got pregnant 4 years ago, things got better. Changed jobs, life was busy. Last summer things got worse - numbness, problems with hand, double vision, eye pain, blurry vision, weak legs, fatigue. Went back to the neuro in the fall.
Avatar f tn The association of eye signs with neurological symptoms of right leg pain also warrants exclusion of MS, multiple sclerosis where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion. The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are loss of balance, muscle spasms, numbness in any area, problems with walking and coordination, tremors in one or more arms and legs.
Avatar f tn Whilst I had strong reactions to the caloric test in my right ear (vertigo) - both warm and cold - I had virtually nothing in my left. Do these symptoms combined with double vision for the last 8 years suggest ms? I have also had several spells of forgetfulness including forgotteing the sentence I am saying, saying words the wrong way round (e.g., shoffee cop or coffee shop) and looking at an object and not being able to say it.
Avatar f tn Even though you cannot be on a DMD at the moment, that doesn't mean you can't be treated for symptoms. It sounds as though you're having a really rough time of it, so talk to your doctor or doctors about symptom management. There are quite a lot of helpful drugs out there. They will do nothing in terms of controlling MS, but they can make MS manifestations a lot easier to bear.
Avatar f tn My husband is suffering from a variety of symptoms that so far have been undiagnosed. Around 2000 he developed a speech problem where he has trouble finding the right word, says the wrong word, switches parts of words, or studders. In 2005, we went to a neurologist who said that he had 5 small strokes that affected the language center of the brain. In 2009 developed numbness in fingers of both hands. In 2010 he was sitting down and suddenly felt a pain in his right thigh.
572651 tn?1530999357 It has also been used as a treatment for the pain that can come with MS. The results of trials of Sativex have been mixed. In Canada, the decision was taken a few years back to license the drug. In most other countries, including the UK, it has not been approved as a treatment. By far and away the most interesting and important trial of a cannabis drug is the CUPID trial.

Avatar n tn I would not like to attribute all these symptoms to the cervical spondylosis. These neurological symptoms and progression over 5 years could be could be due to a chronic demyelinating condition called multiple sclerosis where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering with pain in my head and neck, I have a burning pain in my left shoulder blade with a pulling pain travelling down my left arm. My right arm is numb again at the wrist and my thumb and through my wrist is so tender. I feel like a total hypochondriac.
