Avatar n tn Hi-If you key in your symptoms in Google.com. You might verified what I'm telling you now. Oct. 4th, 2011 I woke up w/pain. bk my head left side. Than went to my neck. Than went to my right temple. Went to see a Dr. in a Medical Center 3 times. I basically diagnosed myself. Finally just went to ER. @JFK, Edison, NJ. Neuro Science. Last time I was at the Dr. The 3rd time. I told them. You must give me a referral to see a NEUROLOGIST. & finally I was able to go to Neuro Science.
Avatar f tn I would do a search for MS symptoms and one for fibromyalgia symptoms and see if your symptoms line up with either of these. I have fibro and know people with MS. Your symptoms sound similar to both of these conditions to me.
Avatar m tn Im not saying that it is definately MS - Im sure it could be any number of different things - but with your symptoms, MS really should be investigated, just incase. It's unsettling to hear that a neurologist of any calibur would overlook ms with some of those symptoms you've listed. So, dont panic or anything, but look into MS, along with other possible diagnoses, with a new neurologist. Good luck to you!
Avatar m tn A close friend of mine has the exact same symptoms and was diagnosed with MS and another with cancer so it scares me. I know it is not normal t be in this much pain. Every doc wants to give me a new med or a new preventative, and nothing is working....
Avatar f tn They sound like MS symptoms to me. I would at least let your Neurologist know.
Avatar m tn When neurogenic claudication is occurring, and when there are frequent headaches and sensory symptoms such as it sounds like is the case in you, re-evaluation by a neurologist is recommended (i.e. it would be best to follow-up with a physician instead of attributing your symptoms to your known DDD and not seeing a physician). If you have not had an MRI of your spine recently, since your symptoms started to worsen, this may be indicated, to see if your DDD has progressed.
Avatar m tn t see anything that represents MS from what you have indicated. I went thru nursing school with MS (but without knowing I had it) and know what you are facing. I did this in my 50's. MS would not normally present bilaterally as you have indicated (s) to your limbs when talking about them.
Avatar f tn Ok. So I posted a few months ago but initial symptoms I was having that I thought were MS related. I think I'm having more, whether MS related or not. I'd just like to know what's going on. I still have pins and needle feelings all over my body and different times in different places. But now, I have a numb sensation in my head. It feels like a lot of pressure but numbness as well. I think there's pins and needles feelings in my head as well.
Avatar f tn Keep in mind that MS is only 1 medical explanation for many different types of symptoms, it genuinely might not be a neurological condition like MS, so try if you can to not become too focused on any specific medical condition at this stage of your testing... Hope that helps.........
1437229 tn?1296070020 Headaches are common with MS apparently. I get them often, drives me bonkers. I was also diagnosed with atypical migraines rather than MS for 3+ years because of it..... so, yeah....
410281 tn?1254229064 The clinic called her and said that there was one more test and she was sent to Mayo. They tested her for MS and that was it. She is a nurse and did not even recognize the symptoms. Her hands and feet felt numb and like pins and needles and uneasy, she was tired a lot, and just did not feel well.
1209357 tn?1346876912 Hi, I have severe headaches for months. In many of these occasions I have awakened during the night, grabbed my head because the pain woke me up and when this happens I can not move until the pain goes away. Then, I feel that I have in the head a sensation of heat. It is something very painful. My neurologist sent me to make me an MRI. The MRI showed the following information: "The study Demonstrates no signs of acute intracranial bleeding.

Avatar f tn The cervical discectomy you had is probably unrelated to your symptoms, but as I mentioned it is difficult to fully evaluate without actually examining you. Headaches can be secondary to the trauma associated with the surgery. I recommend that you do follow up with your PCP regarding your issues. Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
Avatar f tn I HAVE CHRONIC DRY EYE, AND PSUEDOTUMOR CEREBRI, OR (INTERCRANIAL HYPERSTENSION), HIGH SPINAL PRESSURE. I DO GET SYMPTOMS FROM THIS ESPECIALLY HEADACHES. I WAS BEING CHECKED FOR MS, BECAUSE I HAD ALSO BEEN DX WITH OPTIC NEURITIS, PLUS MY SISTER HAS MS. THEY DID A SPINAL AND IT WAS NEGATIVE. FOR THE LAST 2 OR 3 MONTHS NOW, WHEN I WOULD WAKE UP I WOULD HAVE STRANGE THINGS IN LINE OF MY VISION. WHEN EVER I MOVED OR BLINKED I WOULD SEE OPAQUE WHITE LACY THINGS.
Avatar f tn what are signs and symptoms of MS? I have optic neuritis and would like to know other symptoms.
Avatar m tn foggy) Dizziness Pain Headaches (lots of people have headaches without MS and most MSers have headaches, sort of hard to tell if MS actually causes the headaches). However, the symptoms you've listed and the very fact that you are no longer working due to your extreme fatigue and most likely poor performance due to pain and other issues, is a reason to seek a Neurological consult. Can it be MS? Maybe. Are there other things that cause these symptoms? Yes.
Avatar f tn m still having so many symptoms. I am on levothyroxine and my TSH is 3. It was due to constant headaches (every day) that i ended up having lots of tests and found hypothyroidism. However my headaches have not subsided at all, brain scans are normal and i also have problems with my long term and working memory. I know these things may not be directly related to thyroid function but i never had any of these problem until my thyroid started malfunctioning. I am still very fatigued.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I am new to this forum (or any other) and would appreciate anyone's help. I am 38 years old (female). When I was 8 months pregnant last November I was diagnosed with preeclamsia and had severe headaches and blurred vision. I was then told I had to have an MRI immediately to rule out an aneurysm. I had a healthy (low weight) baby boy December 5. I went for my 6 week check up after he was born and they told me they needed to talk to me.
Avatar n tn I'm no doctor, but from what I do know this doesn't sound like an MS symptom. We do have headaches that are attributed to MS, but it doesn't coincide with blurred vision and eating. Dehydration and fluctuations of blood sugar can certainly cause these problems. Good for you to get a 2nd opinion - we should all do that if we have doubts or are uncomfortable with the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn I have MS symptoms and have had them for a long time. I got an MRI about 8 years ago for severe headaches. It was clear of any lesions and the doctor said I definitely didn't have MS. I continue to have symptoms off and on that consist of mild numbness and tingling, headaches and dizziness. I have severe anxiety and it's entirely possible my numbness/tingling are due to this but I worry I have MS.
Avatar f tn At the time of your first MRI you were not experiencing any classic MS symptoms. While some of us may experience headaches, they are rarely the primary symptom. Your MRI showed white matter lesions which can be caused by migraine. In addition to the listing of demyelination as a possible cause, the report mentions ischemia. Ischemia and headache are more stongly related than ischemia and MS. That said, I would definately discuss the new symptoms with your neuro.
