But she wasnt breathing doctors n nurses rushed in the room n started working on her the problem was she was so tired from the morphine that she didnt have any energy to breath but they eventually got her to breath but she had to spend a day in icu. It was scary but i must say my labor was great and im happy i did it with out geting an epidural. she was born on June 18th n was 6lb 4oz and is now 5days old!!!!!

I had it with my first 7 yesrs ago...I slept until I pushed the baby out...only bad thing is that when the baby came I did not get to realy see her I was too drugged up..

Just got home from l&d contractions started heavy &..painful 3mins. apart but they gave a shot of morphine in my buttt b/c i've only dilated 3cm so the contractions eventually slowed down then later went away kinda disappointed but ole well maybe next time !!! Btw..

t anymore I went back and got checked again I was 1cm still not effaced and was just in early labor so they offered morphine again and I took it because the pain was so bad . The shot though sucked made me cry. I went home again !!!!

I had morphine when I was induced & it was horrible! Although it made me feel great to the point I forgot I was in labor, after a few minutes I started having a very hard time breathing & was put on oxygen. Just make sure if you want an epidural they have to give it to you at a certain time, it can be too late as in you are to far along in labor and they can't do it anymore.

I have been given Morphine in the hospitals during my heart attacks, and most recently was given Morphine quite frequently. I was told last April, the reason they were giving me Morphine at short intervals is because it "oxygenates" the heart.
