Avatar f tn Morphine is ok too I gof it while in labor tobhelp ease the pain
Avatar f tn I had a natural birth. I think the best time to decide is long before you go into labor. Of course when you're in the midst of labor and you're in pain you'll beg for anything to make it easier...
Avatar f tn If you mean for the labor/birth I got the epidural even though I wasn't going to because I have
Avatar f tn What are all the pain relief options for when you are in labor, other than an epidural?
Avatar f tn I clearly remember having my just born daughter placed on my chest for the first time and just feeling numb...before labor every time I tried to picture this moment I started crying and now that it was here there was nothing...it was like all the pain and trauma of labor turned my emotional switch off...
Avatar f tn Then they sent me home with a shot of morphine. Woke up this morning and have a headache. Morphine is starting to wear off. No back labor but am contracting consistently every 20-25 minutes and starting to get abdominal cramps again. Just tired and feeling cruddy today.
Avatar f tn I had back and stomach labor. And i was fine. Only had morphine during labor. It all depends on the person.
7801868 tn?1395885718 And im most likely getting induced before my due date. What would be the most effective pain relief or what worked best for you? Im going to go in there not wanting to take anything but if i gotta, i will. Jusg want all those moms opinions :) this is my first baby and im not sure what to expect!
Avatar f tn I wish I had opted for the morphine first because my daughter was born less than an hour after getting the epidural and the back pain I have had for 4 years is not worth the temporary relief I got during labor and delivery. I am going to do the IV pain medication this time and stay strong to not ask for the epidural. It isn't worth the risk of permanent back pain.
Avatar f tn I was hospitalized Saturday for preterm contractions. I'm getting kind of worried. They gave me morphine to relax my uterus and sent me home after monitoring for a few hours. I'm at home now, and the morphine has worn off. My uterus is starting to ache again. I'm keeping track to make sure it's not following a pattern again, but I'm worried this will turn into a constant problem or that I will end up going into labor.
Avatar f tn I was recently perscribed morphine for my fibromyalgia and spurs on my spine. My question is does the morphine make you really nauseated and throw up. The last few days the side effects have slowed down, but I would still like to hear some suggestions from people in the forum.
7819795 tn?1394500455 When you want into labor. What did you do for the pain meds. I really don't want to get the epidural bc I am scared of needles. And there is other reasons to.
Avatar n tn When I had my first daughter in 2014 I was in labor for 25+ hours, 20 of those I went without any pain meds. I finally broke down and get the epidural which almost killed me. My heart rate dropped to 7 and my b/p got as low as 20/8. Apparently the nurse laid me back to fast and all the meds went straight to my heart which caused the problem. I'm currently 28 weeks with my 2nd daughter and am so worried about getting another epidural.
7157499 tn?1411821385 Aww congrats! Lucky you with a fast labor too. I'm hoping this one is a bit shorter, even though my last one was on the short side of average. It was an extremely long labor for my family!
Avatar f tn m 39 weeks with my second little girl and Monday night I started having contractions that were 5 minutes apart n after being monitored for two hours at labor and delivery they released me and gave me a shot to stop the contractions since I was not dialating anymore. I have had water diarrhea ever since 12 pm monday and earlier when I went to the bathroom it had blood clots.
Avatar m tn s care but my dog is having bladder stones and he is very much unconfortable all night I have to take him downstairs to pee and all the vet has told me is to wait for the results of urine test to beggin treatment meanwhile he gave him Rimadyl for the Hip pain and also some Phenobarbitol for anxiety, but he still cries all the time, I am desperate !
Avatar f tn Lovely story. Thank you for sharing. Congratulations and welcome to the world Tyanna.
Avatar f tn They told me my body was trying to go into labor so they gave me a morphine and phenergan shot saying that it would either stop the false labor or dilate me more, well when they checked me again I wasn't anymore dilated. Since I got back from the hospital I have been contracting every few minutes, but not very painful. And the only difference I notice is I'm getting more of the snot like discharge.
Avatar f tn i know its because ive been in the latent labor stage for so long my body is getting exhausted and the only things they can do is give meds to help labor progress or give meds like morphine to make your body relax and go to sleep because once your body relaxes labor usually speeds up. It is working in the sense i am exhausted now and took a 3 hour nap and slept better than i normally do, but i cant sleep all day until the active labor begins.
7801868 tn?1395885718 ) shes the most beautiful little girl. I went to the hospital for my weekly check up on april 24th at 39+2 weeks and my water broke while i was getting my cervix checked. At 2 pm they told me to go out and see if labor started. It did and i was admitted at about 9 pm. I was at 3 cm around 1 am and they gave me a shot of morphine. About 15 mins later they gave me the epidural.
1052851 tn?1307741160 My doctor has me on Fiorinal C1/2 for migraines, and put me on Morphine for severe migraines and severe pain. I have often had to go to the hospital for the migraines, and they give me a shot of what I thought was Morphine in the butt, and after about 1/2 hr it was gone. This last experience, the Morphine did not work, and I ended up taking a bunch of Fiorinal instead. When I spoke to my local hospital, they said they dont give Morphine for migraines but Demerol?
