Miscarriage rates after ivf

Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage rates after ivf

miscarriage

Avatar f tn t have high blood pressure, etc. I was wondering if there is anyone who might have had IVF after 40 and what they experienced. Or, if anyone has any advice, please help. Thank you.
1422850 tn?1307364413 I think this is a difficult question to answer since so many factors affect success rates. My first fresh IVF cycle was successful - maybe because I am in good health and my husband and I have no known reason for our fertility struggle. I know every clinic states their success rates, but you have to ask your RE for your individual chances. We were given a 50-60% chance given my age (35) and health.
Avatar m tn Your initial visit, he/she will likely take a history of both of you, written questionaire. He may have even sent this to you by mail ahead of time. My RE did this history on both of us, then he ran over all of our options and what they would supposedly achieve. I consider us lucky because our RE was honest enough with us to day, unless you have a perfect cycle, everything is aligned, all the fertility meds in the world won't help.
Avatar f tn All kinds of numbers and miscarriage rates are running around out there after a heart beat is seen, I have seen from 5 to 10% quoted. It sounds like you are doing all the right things and things are going great. Hope this helps, not sure there is an answer.
Avatar f tn We have been through IVF twice and neither times did it work. After meeting with our Doctor, he informed us that we had transferred morulas (sp) the first two times. We have yet to transfer a blastosysts (sp). Our embryos are taking longer to develop. I just want it to work. I feel the world around me is getting pregnant and we have failed IVF twice. I just want this work. Has anyone had it work for them?
1129232 tn?1360800358 I never had a child, but I did get pregnant twice on my own (ended in miscarriages). Then after my second miscarriage in September 2008, I just couldn't get pregnant again. All was normal with both me and my husband, but even with fertility meds and IUIs for a few months, we just didn't have any luck, so we ended up doing IVF last Spring (March/April 2009), and it worked! We had a perfect baby girl in December of last year!
Avatar m tn But once you have IVF, the statistics are the same for miscarriage. One in four pregnancies will result in miscarriage no matter the means of conception.
Avatar f tn There is some data suggesting that implantation rates are lower with IVF; and miscarriage rates are higher for women with MTHFR. So, it is one of the things that REs like to treat prophyllactically. Biochemically speaking, the Folic acid theory is sound, and extra folic acid is unlikely to cause problems. Aspirin at that dosage is unlikely to "hurt" either.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, we have not been able to have children. After my right ovary and tube were removed, I had one miscarriage and then an ectopic pregnancy in my only good tube. Our only chances of pregnancy are through IVF, and we're still paying the medical bills from my cancer surgeries. I'm glad to hear you have a child. That's hope for me! How old were you when it was diagnosed?
Avatar n tn I had done an ivf and conceived. But after nine weeks had a miscarriage. After how long can i do anothrr ivf?
1287560 tn?1272216521 Helo everyone, as anyone of you will know who's been through a pregnancy loss, i'm not feeling great, just empty, numb, tearful, confused, devastated and guilty. was it my fault for lifting when i was specificaly told not to in the first few weeks.the bleeding started the next day so was it to do with this, i will never know. we can't afford ivf again, i was £5000+ and stressful and no guarantees it will work again.
215752 tn?1278004771 Girls what are the chances that ivf works the very first time. Do you know anyone who got pregnant on their first try? I don't have insur. and i cannot afford more than one cycle on ivf, but i have heard that most of the time it doesn't work with the first try.
1287560 tn?1272216521 After miscarrying after our first attempt at ivf, I was wondering is there anyone out there that found getting pregnant quite easy or rather conceived with not much effort. My miscarriage was at 6-7 weeks and I had no d&c, just bled for about 5-6 days in total, no pain and when I had my ultrasound the nurse said my womb and uterus were all clear and v healthy looking.
Avatar n tn Ultrasound at 6 weeks saw a yolk sac, at 7 weeks showed inadequate growth (only 3mm embryo) and no cardiac activity and fetal demise was diagnosed. I am now waiting for the miscarriage to take place. I conceived very quickly after treatment for a pituitary tumor which was keeping me from ovulating correctly. I do not see why IVF with pre-implantation genetic checking is not available for older women. That maybe is something to research.
Avatar f tn s are transferred back into the uterus. The success rates for ICSI are higher than other conventional IVF methods. It also depends on the cause of your infertility and your age. If you are younger your eggs are healthier with high chances of success. One can detect pregnancy almost 2 weeks after the transfer. Do seek the opinion of an experienced infertility expert. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
1320500 tn?1274386795 appointments and bills to pay! My first IVF worked (after 4 failed IUIs), so I have a positive experience with it. I am also a good responder to the fertility meds, so I produced a lot of eggs and had some good embryos. I'm not sure how much you already know about the process or when you're starting, but if you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them; just shoot me a message!

Avatar f tn Hi! I don't think that the answer to your question is known for sure. There is some evidence to suggest that surgery to "clean up" endometriosis increases conception rates and reduces miscarriage rates. There are also some studies that show no benefit. I don't think that surgery would harm your chances for success, I'm just not sure that it would help. One question that I have for you is have you looked into the possibility of a "risk sharing" program.
Avatar f tn I don't understand why you wouldn't be a candidate for IVF if the dr thinks IUI would work. IVF success rates are higher than IUI. Did they give you a reason?
Avatar f tn we got preg with IUI and currently on our last IUI (2nd once since mc, but 5th total) before heading to IVF! so scared about the IVF process! its such an emotional, financial investment esp if it doens't work! GOOD LUCK! keep me updated!
Avatar f tn Hello, Drug like Clomiphene is used as first line drug for treatment of ovulation dysfunction causing infertility. It has been observed that approximately 60-70 percent ovulate after taking Clomiphene. Along with Clomiphene lifestyle modifications like weight control, exercise are very important to improve the success rates of Clomiphene.Tamoxifen and gonadotropins are other drugs which can help women with PCOS to get pregnant.
