Avatar f tn It is very easy to determine milk allergy. I assume its allergy to milk of dairy origin. Try to go off milk and milk products and see if the tightness in your chest disappears. Read all labels of any products you buy in the market—medicines, processed and canned food—anything, carefully to see if they have milk products in them. Now the good news! Every cloud has a silver lining. There are many alternate or non dairy sources of milk like soy milk, rice milk etc.

Avatar m tn My wife has suffered with a serious garlic allergy for over five years, which now seems to be progressing to cut peppers. Having spoken to quite a number of people about this we have established that this allergy is not as rare as the medical profession seems to believe. We have met a number of people who are effected by garlic to one degree or another. Food manufacturers often to not include it on their list of ingredients.
Avatar f tn What is important is you must find out what is causing this allergy. Fruits of different types like citrus fruits; wheat, sea food, coloring agents, preservatives in food, gluten, lactose, etc can cause food allergy. There are various tests designed to test for food allergy. You need to take those tests. Make a complete list of things that cause allergies and avoid them. Avoid buying and consuming things like tinned and processed food that have those ingredients—check all labels before buying.
19702599 tn?1482894500 Lately I have been getting allergy symptoms from certain foods. First it started off just from milk chocolate, my biggest vice. So it's not as if I stopped eating it or something and suddenly started back up again. I have never had a allergic reaction to anything before this, but my throat got itchy, it felt bumpy, I couldn't stop coughing.
Avatar f tn It sounds like allergy to me. Ice cream is actually a complex mix of ingredients, so it's hard to say what the exact ingredient is that you're allergic to. I would avoid ice cream. It sounds like you are allergic to one or more ingredients in ice cream. Most commercial ice creams are full of all kinds of artificial ingredients as well as the natural ingredients you would expect. And, most are sweetened with high fructose corn syrup.
484470 tn?1226541095 This is my new craving. Oh my gosh it is so good. And if you buy most of the ingredients that are fat free, then you dont have to worry as much. But it is a good treat on a hot day!! I am so in love!! Peanut Butter Silk Pie Filling * 8 ounces cream cheese * 1/2 cup peanut butter * 1 cup powdered sugar * 1 tsp.
Avatar f tn Hi, My son had his first set of allergy tests done at 8 mos old. Caseine may be part of the problem for your son (the milk protein) .. is there any in the turkey ingredients? I'm not sure if sodium caseinate is the same as caseine or not ?? I cannot recall. Corn and corn syrups are less known allergins, too, that are in some formulas. Some powders vs. liquid ready to feeds have different ingredients. If you use our food diary you can track your son's foods, etc.
Avatar f tn Hi, Will your doctor let you go off all of the eyedrops and try preservative free o-t-c onesfor lubrication purposes?? I'd maybe see an Opthamologist and see what they say, too? Is it possible you've developed an allergy to one of the ingredients in your eye drops??????
Avatar f tn As the main ingredients in those products you mentioned contain tomatoes, she may have an allergy to them. Compare all those products that cause a reaction and see if there are ingredients that are the same to give you an idea. Best thing is to keep a written record of everything that she eats and drinks and to record what reaction she gets. This will help you to hopefully identify the culprit food so that it can be avoided in future. My granddaughter who is 1.
Avatar m tn That's an awesome approach, thank you for the comment! I looked more into my diet that involved Cow's milk...there is so much food that has milk ingredients in it, no wonder my body was reacting the way it was! I was thinking I contracted a STD from getting a massage. I told my doctor about my encounter and he said that activity won't cause a positive ANA Test, told me it was either allergy related or arthritis because it was a low positive.
Avatar f tn Just left the Gastroenterologist. My son has a milk and soy allergy. He's 5 wks old and I'm breastfeeding so now have to stick to a strict Dairy and soy free diet. Are there any websites out there that provide a list if do's and don't's?? And do you mommies who've had to do this yourselves have any pointers?? Thanks so much for reading. Any tips are appreciated!!
2065896 tn?1373685384 I take cortisone nose spray and anti histamine tablets to no avail. I have had allergy tests that have come back negative but food allergy tests have come back with a number of food allergies. Could a food allergy cause a runny nose?
Avatar m tn first, be super vigilant on reading ingredients of everything you eat and drink. Milk is in so much stuff and people dont realize it. So you want to look at ingredients for things like casein, lactose, whey. Try to only eat and drink things that say Dairy free. Another thing to do is see an allergy specialist and get tested for food allergies. Its possible you can be allergic to a food you are eating all the time.
Avatar n tn I encourage you to start keeping a log of things that cause you problems, look for common ingredients that might be triggers for you. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi, I was wondering if its possible to have a vitamin D allergy? I drink milk, go in the sun (skin gets red very fast) and eat other foods that contain it and have no problem, but I recently was told by my doctor that I have a vitamin D deficiency. She wants me to start taking vitamin D3 in a 2300 dose. My question is, is it possible to have an allergy to this vitamin even though I eat foods that contain it? Will this high level of vitamin D affect me in a negative way?
676912 tn?1332812551 Not all yogurt and kefir manufacturers even list powdered milk in their list of ingredients either. Yet, all of them use powdered milk in their products. I had to learn the hard way, since these products cause a reaction on my lips immediately upon contact. Processed foods are great for people who don't have these allergies, but plenty of people do. I got tired of reading labels. It's less expensive and healthier to eat whole foods. At least I know what I'm eating.
Avatar f tn It is possible that it is not the lobster itself that you reacted with but the spices or other ingredients in the food. Although there has been cases of acquired allergies also that may be responsible and needs to be ruled out by your doctor. These arise from altered body ecology due to usage of medications, improper diet, environment and even unhealthy lifestyle from recent years. Further evaluation like allergy tests may also need to be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Which brands of these beverages have you been drinking? It could be other ingredients that you're allergic to. Consult a doctor, and they'll test you for the various things in them, and hopefully give you medication to prevent it from happening again.
Avatar m tn Hi my name is Tony and i'm 23 years old.I've been putting together the pieces of this fatigue problem i've had as of recent. For the past three months or so i've been exibiting allergy type symptoms such as: red itchy eyes when i wake up, clear/white mucous from the nose and sometimes phlegm. This has been the 1st year I have had any allergy type symptoms. Preceding these allergies was a year of little sleep, excessive caffeine usage, and some alcohol use.
1448936 tn?1363206346 ve been dealing with random bouts of diarrhea recently and my cousin was diagnosed last year with a gluten allergy. I know that it can be genetic so I want to try to cut out gluten. However I want to cover lactose intolerance too since I did have cheese and ranch tonight. Does anyone have any useful websites to help me figure out what needs to be eliminated from my diet? Or any personal advice?
Avatar f tn I was advised with my daughter to get her tested for milk allergy, casein sensitivity before changing her diet (although I did temporarily change it and had problems getting her to eat anything so I talked to her pediatrician and that's why they tested her... got a big lecture on not goign to the pediatrician first before doing anything). Her developmental pediatrician who diagnosed her with PDD also cautioned me against changing diet with consulting a doctor first.
