They again detoxicated me,stabilized me,and AGAIN prescribed me full ANTAGONIST (becaouse of lobby of my mom that hates methadone-well not anymore).After that...i was clean,but craving and wish for opiates and wish to get high were rising again!! So ,i said to my mom how do I feel,and what do i think it's best for me.

My husband attends a methadone program and is currently on 40 mg so he says but i know he is in a higher dosage, I need to know how can i help him get off the methadone, i am clean never used a day in my life and this is why we are having issues its like he wants to to get off but he is always putting excuses like its not easy you dont know what its like to be an addict and so forth please help any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

My question remains can I kick the roxy with that little Methadone or will I need to up the dose to do it. I know if it only takes 7.5 Methadone I can drop that fairly easy. I just don't want to trade one devil for another Sorry for rambling.

My question is, once he comes home and no longer has the methadone to replace the subutex, are his withdrawals going to go right back to completely unbearable? Or will he be okay? I'm just looking for a way to create my expectations. Don't wanna set my hopes to high, but also don't want him to feel that I don't believe in him.. He NEEDS this..

My husband was addicted to pills and now has been on methadone for a year this month. He started at 100 mg and now is at 120mg. When he went to the treatment center we were seperated. I left when i found out there was a drug addiction and decided my children needed to be a priority. He first went to IOP and was clean 30 days before relapsing. . I saw him hit rock bottom and he decided to contact a treatment center and do something about his addiction...for himself.

how do i go about trying to get off of 160mg of methadone?i am very scared that i will die if i go cold turkey or if it is even possable.

Yes I can get high on both if i take more than my usual dose! I hate it when I get that euphoric feeling though! I am trying to get off methadone I have been on it for 9 years now and desperately want off, but can't seem to do it, I am trying to taper down 10% of my dose every 2weeks that is the recommended amount to taper down, but it's hard I am now only on 50mg a DAY I USED TO TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 80MG TO 120 sorry didn't mean to caps that!

as a substitute for the heroin when used with a proper aftercare program you can put your life back together build a foundation so when the time comes you can get off it and be narcotic free....please dont try to get high on methadone its dangerous if used that way....im sure the clinic your at will dispense more if its not holding you over but there not going to give you enough to get high on....good luck and God bless.......

so...what is the best way to wing yourself off methadone after using for only 90 days? obviously cutting the dose down very slowly and takin vitamins but what else can i do????? the baby is going to be gettin morphine. i wonder if i could be hospitalied and do the same treatment?

I am afraid of the pain and wonder if it is going to get unbearable. I have a high threshold for pain but when it is unremitting I get worn out. It's good to know that you responded well to a lower dose of Methadone. It is probably just me. Mellie, I think your correct, that stress from an accident can bring on a flare. I had a couple bad stresses recently and my fibril got a lot worse. I have never done stress well even before fibril. Thanks for the Oxymoron advice.

i cant believe the doc even started you that high to begin with. i was snorthing 340mg of oxycotin a day and the methadone clinic im going to started me at 15mg once a day!!!! i moved up to 40mg.....methadone is NOT safer then vidadon at all. you would be better off getting off that methadone now!!! methadone is going to be a way bigger problem then three vic a day.....

I have not taken the drug you are speaking of either, but I have taken methadone..please do not take it for any more than a few more days..You will wish you hadn't..methadone is a horrid w/d and you don't have to be on a high dose to experience it..please..I was in the worst hel! I could have ever imagined for at least 3 weeks and then another 3 weeks of w/d symptoms like the hydros give you..not fun..you should start cutting the methadone down asap..

there is no get out of jail free card here your going to have to withdrawal on something if you been on the methadone for years it will come back to methadone withdrawals + the oxy will get you high making it a no win plan if your trying to get clean just go for the methadone detox and be done with it.....

HI welcome to the forum the story above is ausum but as you can see it took some work in about a week you will be detoxed off the methadone your probably going to feel like he11 for a wile I have yet to see a 5 or 7 day detox work but what consirns me more is the mental side of the addiction that wont be over in 5 to7 days in fact it wont be over at all till you treat it as addicts we need to change the very way we think we recommend N/A because its free it puts you around clean people and the 1

Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.

it worked good for the most part but sometimes you just have to wait a little longer like a day or 2 extra to get use to the dose ...this will bring you off as comfortably as possible with the least withdrawals I took it all the way down to 1ml but dont recommend that ...jump off at 5ml because tapering below that is miserable and my final withdrawal was no worst then tapering below 5ml....expect a 7 day withdrawal methadone is know for it but at lower doses it is very doable ....

I would wait until your down to at least 20 mgs of methadone, switching to buprenorphine might be harder on such a high dose. DETOX and lower 5 mgs a week of your methadone until you are under 10 mgs then go on a low dose of buphrenirphine for a month and you wont have as much pain.

The doc gave me amitriptiline to sleep and didn't take the 5 mg. xanax last night and none today. Slept well but well but woke up a little droisier but slept the whole night. No xanax so far today - so will see how it goes This is scary. At some point you want your body back to yourself instead of taking a pill if you get a little unnerved...

Hi I started taking Oxycotin 2 years again for Cancer pain, At that point I didnt know anything about these tablets, But this year I started to take more and more and thought I'd better stop as I was gong to the doctors every 5th 6 day for another pack of 28. I got so sick I run to the doctors to get more. I started making calls to find out how to stop with out w/d's they are going to put me on Methadone on Monday.

my friend told me as long as she was with her husband she would always get high, they have wanted to get clean for years but they finally realized it was almost impossible for them unless they did it separtely, they finally each went their own ways and to make a long story short she is clean now but her ex is still getting high. i dont know your story and im not to judge anyone but you two should try for your selfs not for each other? i wish you both the best and good luck!

Hello all,new here and first post. I have been on oxycodone and oxycontin for hip and leg pain for about 2.5 yrs. I have ms and hip dysplasia.
