i was told by a doctor in the emergency room that my low blood sugar levels could be due to my taking the methadone. is there any truth to this? I also have high blood pressure now, neither one of thes did i have before the methadone. i am feeling awful lately and would appreciate your help. thank you!

I have been on methadone 2 yrs. I take 10 mg a day. I take for a brken lumbar and also have mitral valve prlapse. i have taken 5 mg sometimes and i can't stand the chills and sweats and cramping. How can I come off the methadone more easily. I live with the pain anyway but I can't live with dt's when I run short on the methadone. I also take corgard for my heart.

my white blood cell count is 2.0 and my red blood cell count is 3.78 isnt that still low just coming off of treatment.i was taking nuepogen shots to built up my white count but i have stopped those shots too.gosh i feel so fatigued but cannot sleep.maybe i need to go to dr. and relay this concern to him.i need energy.
Have you talked with them about switching you to generic MS Contin (Morphine Sulfate Extended Release) instead of methadone? I am currently on Zomorph from Methadone, I used to self medicate my anxiety and stress with Heroin and about 3 months ago I stopped the methadone and heron completely, no more using on top of the methadone. I was on 90ml of methadone, and now I am on 600mg of zomorph.

After six hours the grapefruit juice wears off, the liver again starts producing these enzymes, and you take a second dose of the medication. Now the blood levels rise above the therapeutic level because you are metabolizing the portion taken four hours ago added to the portion you are taking in the second dose. I was on methadone for 10 years. While on it I also abused it. My dose for the first 5 or 6 years was 160mg and the last few I was at about 100mg. I also would buy peoples take home bottles when I could and always double my dose when I got my Saturday bottle. During that they me I also abused Xanax for years but the last year I was doing that maybe once a week. I haven't put anything else in my system for about three years.
Well they have him on 110mgs of methadone a day which he was taking 16, 10mg methadone pills a day with this other doctor so he even came down on the methadone by 50mgs a day and these xanax he was taking was unreal sometime 15 - 20 pills a day when the clinics doctor looked at his blood levels he said his was the worst one then they have ever ran accross they couldnt believe he could take that much so they were really worried about him.
