Common Questions and Answers about Menstrual period pain

period

Avatar f tn she is having a lot of abdominal pain as well as back pain. She said it feels like her back is swollen.
Avatar f tn Thanks for using the forum. Some women experience nausea with their period symptoms. Often, the nausea is coupled with cramps/abdominal pain. Once the pain is relieved, the nausea resolves. Fever, is not a common period symptom. I would recommend making an appointment with your doctor. You need to make sure that you don't have any infections causing your symptoms. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Avatar f tn hey I'm 15 , every time i have my period. it's the worst pain. Do you have some tricks for me?
Avatar n tn Then I feel great until the cycle comes around again. Advil helps with menstrual cramps which I have always had, but does not really help the leg pain. Because it is cyclical, I thought it might be gynecological and so my doctor ordered a vaginal and pelvic ultrasound that was fine. I took continuous birth control pills for 9 months last year for cyclical pelvic pain and stopped because I was getting migraines with aura. The pelvic pain did go away and I thought I was menopausal (I’m 49).
1729448 tn?1342098337 I usually don't get cramps but today my period is starting and I'm having back pain. I've had the pain a couple days but I spaced it on my period i forgot it might be that causing it. Like I said, it's unusual for me. I have a heating pad on my back and I'm laying down and i took 2 prescription strength ibuprofen (my mom was taking them and then stopped when she had hip replacement surgery). Any other advice? It just snowed so I had to shovel today...
Avatar n tn bloating, pretty bad menstrual cramps, ovulation pain (the sharp pains in lower abdomen), and sometimes it feels like pressure in my vagina. I have not been doing anything different. I do not smoke, am not over/underweight. I am 31 yrs old, 3 children. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn Hello-my first time to this wonderful site! My husband and I just started trying this month for our 2nd child. I was gone for 2 wks, but had unprotected sex both before and after I returned. I totally expected to have my period since I was gone for so long. I had just gotten off the pill before having my last period. So, I started having very bad menstrual cramps and "shocks" in my breasts 3 days ago. I kept running to the bathroom thinking I was going to start. Nothing.
Avatar n tn For the about the past 6 months or so I get very bad menstrual back pain before my period. However, this month I had bad back pain before my period and now I have it even though my period has been done for 3 days. I was just wondering if this is normal that I am having bad back pain even though I have been done with my period for days.
203342 tn?1328740807 I know for a fact that I'm not pregnant and again, my period ended just a few days ago. Yet this pain is worse than any menstrual pain I've experienced during a period. I have no bleeding or spotting going on. I don't know if this is related or not but I've also had the urge to urinate more often. Every store I go to anymore when I'm out running errands I have to go. I have to go at least once or twice at night.
Avatar f tn Have you tried taking any naprogesics for the period pain relief? These may provide symptomatic relief for mild period pain. However, based on what you have described, it sounds like your condition is a little more serious, which could possibly be dysmenorrhea or endometriosis.
Avatar n tn does anyone know if there is a correlation between ibs and period pain?
Avatar f tn Today it happened again, and during the episode she hadn't started her cycle yet, no blood in urine or when she wipes. After about 1/2 hour she started her period. Her doctor has never seen such acute pain right at the onset of a menstrual cycle, but believes that's what it is, now that it has happened twice. She is going to try putting her on BC pills to see if it affects her cycles at all. She has had a couple of cycles in between the first episode and today's, which were normal.
Avatar f tn If the medication that was prescribed to you by the Doctor was helping with your menstrual pain and OTC pain relievers were not sufficient I would recommend staying on the hormonal contraceptive agent. You should discuss different treatment options with your Doctor who may consider symptomatic treatment with pain relievers and other medications to manage this issue.
Avatar f tn i have had constant menstrual pain for the past two months. the pain is intense during menstruation-- i'd describe it as a twisted feeling/an extreme pinch that i can't breathe through. when i'm not menstruating, the pain is similar, but milder. it feels like my period is coming, but it doesn't. it gets worse immediately after eating, and i have no food allergies. a few months ago, i was hospitalized for pelvic pain-- it felt like i was in labour.
Avatar f tn It's a good thing in a way but also annoying in a way. I only take pain meds for short term pain. I think I will see my mw since I am most comfortable with her, and explain that it ha s been increasingly rough. I should have mentioned it last year, but I was embarrassed. Thanks.
Avatar f tn For the past 4 years, I generally always feel sick several days before I start my period and for the first 2 or 3 days during my period. Symptoms are usually sore throat, dizziness, and even what feels like a fluttering heartbeat at times. Lately, in addition to the usual symptoms, I've begun having swollen glands on one or both sides of my neck, just below my ears and jaw line, extending downward an inch or two.
