Menstrual period during early pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Menstrual period during early pregnancy

Avatar n tn Having a period means you are shedding the lining of your uterus. So I would say, it's not normal nor possible. Some bleeding can be considered within normal limits and so can some types of cramps. If you feel like this is a REAL period, and the bleeding and cramping are plentiful, I would suggest contacting your OB for a check. How far along are you?
Avatar f tn I was always on it and stored it in my phone whenever i would start my period. However, I've heard that most mom's say they were late with delivery or early. So with that being said... My calculation with the due date given is the exact date it should be. I was also underweight before i got pregnant (99 lbs and 5'0- I'm 37 weeks now and almost weigh 140,if not exactly) So with all that said does this mean I'll deliver on time or should i expect an early delivery?
Avatar f tn My menstrual period is delay for 8 days, I had already three negative pregnancy test and my doctor recommended a blood test, which was negative also. My doctor wants me to wait another 2 weeks and if I don't get my menstrual period, do another round of blood test. I thought the blood test was definetively, if it was negative is because I'm not pregnant. Does anybody have any comments?
Avatar n tn Hello-my first time to this wonderful site! My husband and I just started trying this month for our 2nd child. I was gone for 2 wks, but had unprotected sex both before and after I returned. I totally expected to have my period since I was gone for so long. I had just gotten off the pill before having my last period. So, I started having very bad menstrual cramps and "shocks" in my breasts 3 days ago. I kept running to the bathroom thinking I was going to start. Nothing.
Avatar n tn I did my first pregnancy test today and it was positive, this will be my third pregnancy, but i also realised that i had a beige discharge this evening, i never had this with previous pregnancies, but it is great to hear that it seems normal, as i was getting a lil worried.
Avatar m tn Your First Visit Your should call and schedule your first examination during the first 6 to 8 weeks of your pregnancy, or when your menstrual period is 2 to 4 weeks late. Doing so now helps your health care provider estimate the duration of your pregnancy and predict your delivery date. During your first visit, you can expect to have a full physical, including a pelvic and rectal examination.
Avatar n tn I don't think anything about the embryo at the very early stages is hard. They are almost not even visible, especially if the pregnancy would have come just in a normal month since the previous period.
Avatar n tn The cramping and back pain feels like a normal period. I have had some clotting, which is also normal during menstrual cycles for me. I just don't know what to think. Has anyone had a similar experience? All this waiting to find out what is going on is driving me insane. All I've been told ths far is that my hcg levels are low which either means that I'm very early along or that I don't have a viable pregnancy. Based on the last time I had sex I would have to be at least 3 wks.
Avatar f tn But you can have hormonal bleeding. It is generally early in pregnancy though and not heavy like a true period.
571415 tn?1217043562 Fatigue Fatigue also ranks high among early symptoms of pregnancy. During early pregnancy, levels of the hormone progesterone soar. In high enough doses, progesterone can put you to sleep. At the same time, lower blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure and increased blood production may team up to sap your energy. Slight bleeding or cramping For some women, a small amount of spotting or vaginal bleeding is one of the first symptoms of pregnancy.
359295 tn?1285955994 some women get this whilst on the pill, but obviously since your not,it is another term used for bleeding in early pregnancy, since we can have a normal period, during pregnancy.. Implantation Bleeding Implantation bleeding can cause you some confusion when you are unsure whether or not you are pregnant. Avatar n tn For the past five days or so I have been getting PMS symptoms, bloating, gas, cramps, moodiness- but my period has not come yet. Normally I dont get cramps before my period, I will get them during it every once and awhile. I have been a lot wetter down there lately and have never really had that problem before. The past two days the cramps have been worse.
371498 tn?1198948640 While it is possible to become pregnant during a period, it is rare and I your period wouldn't just stop sooner. Sounds like you're just having a strange period, not pregnancy-related.
Avatar n tn last march 14-16, i had an unusual period that it lasts for three days, this is my first time ever. apparently, i had unprotected sex days before and during my period. Avatar n tn doc even told me to treat my body like i am still pregnant because some women bleed during pregnancy and everything is fine.. so now it is a waiting game like you.. i have to wait 2 weeks and then he is going to repeat the HCG to see if it is negative. .. what torture... i have searched every where on the internet looking for a way to expalin it other than miscarriage.. unfortunately everywhere usually said bleedign for more than 24 hours with clots is not good..

Avatar f tn what could cause shortness of breath during my menstrual cycle? this began when i was 11 years old and i've now been dealing with it for 28 years. some months are worse than others. it usually just lasts a few days but is miserable. it can begin a few days before my period starts or during my period. it seems to be a hereditary thing. my mother and grandmother had the same problem and my daughter also seems to have it. i've asked doctors about it and nobody seems to have any clue.
Avatar f tn But probably what is more common when a woman gets pregnant 'on her period' is that she has sex during her period and the sperm lives a few days and she ovulates a bit early== wa la, pregnant. There is NO safe time to have unprotected sex. There are less fertile times but no time that is guaranteed to be safe.

Avatar n tn I recently had blood work done to check my immune system and the only thing that showed up is that I have an allergy to who knows what, but my symptoms only surface during my period. Last month my doctor prescribed me claritin to take 2days before my period and throughout it and no cold. This month I didn't take anything and sure enough, I have awful cold symptoms again.
Avatar f tn i also have a watery discharge during my period. it is clear and odorless. even if there is very little blood on my tampon, it soaks through and leaks through my pad and clothing as well. recently, i have been having less liquid blood and more clots, with a lot of the watery discharge. i have three solid days of going through both a tampon and pad within an hour. i also have severe backache and cramping, and just generally feel ill, which i realize could be just normal period stuff.

147932 tn?1226969710 Hi, Im 32 yrs old and normally have about a 40day menstrual cycle. I was expecting my period this month on 1/13, but I got it on the 5th?? A week early? Im never early.. Day 1 was light flow with mild cramping, Day 2 was Heavy flow and heavy cramps, Day 3 was medium flow no cramps, and Day 4 was light flow no cramps... THEN just over a week later I started having migrains and nausea and on 1/22 I started spotting with this brownish mush and little bit of blood.
Avatar f tn First day of your period shouldn't be your fertile day so it may not have caused a pregnancy. However, the menstrual cycle is unpredictable, so the pull out method is not always effective since it MAY introduce a small amount of ejaculate in the vagina. Chances are, however, that you aren't pregnant and the symptoms you describe are common to BC pills too.
Avatar n tn My husband and I tried to avoid another pregnancy but now we are pregnant. My hcg levels during previous pregnancies were ok. And they were doubling within certain periods. I had internal and external ultrasounds and in both cases a heartbeat was detected. Then after they would detect a heartbeat the m/c will happen soon after(like 2 weeks or so). I recently went to my GYN and he told me that I just have to wait and see what happens with this pregnancy. After sex, the bleeding always starts.
