Avatar f tn I need to get on a birth control pill to help with period symptoms. If I go to the doctor will they make me get an exam? Even if they give it to me will I have to go back 3 months later? I'm not sexually active and don't plan on being.
Avatar f tn I'm on birth control and I started my period almost a week early, is this normal? I'm sexually active & I've been on birth control for about a year now and this has never happened.
Avatar n tn I have been on birth control pills for over 3 years. Last year I wanted to skip my period for one month so I skipped my placebo pills and started a new pack. The next month everything was fine and I got my period as expected when taking the placebo pills. I tried to do this again last month ... I skipped my placebo pills, started a new pack and was period free. But this month I have yet to get my period and I've been taking the placebo pills for 5 days.
Avatar n tn I was put on it to regulate my period, reduce cramping etc. but as soon as I took it, my period was intensified. I'm not sure if that is normal for the first month, but my cramping was so terrible that I had to lave class early. By the time I got home i couldn't physically stand or sit, I was getting up and down, trying to go to the washroom. I threw up 4 times, and was nauseous all week. The blood was also a lot thicker and there was a lot more than usual, and it lasted longer.
Avatar n tn My girlfriend has been taking birth control pills for 4 days, while she was still on her period. Her peiod finished today and we just had unprotected sex, is the pill effective 4 days after one starts taking it?
Avatar f tn Hi, ive been on birth control..orthotricyclen lo for about 3 months now...if i missed the pill two days in a row?...and i had unprotected sex...could i become pregnant?
Avatar n tn I've been on birth control for five months and haven't missed one day but got my period last month early. Is that normal? And do you think I could be pregnant?
Avatar n tn Your recent periods have changed, but only slightly. One time when I was on the pill (loestrin, 8years) I SKIPPED AN ENTIRE PERIOD, obviously freaking out.... I ran to planned parenthood to get a pg test, and it was neg. The nurse explained to me that sometimes your body just does something different, and that's ok. It wouldn't hurt to see the dr. If you buy an hpt, get an early response test, which very well may be more sensitive than the one your dr. would use.
Avatar n tn so being on the pill still as opposed to not being on the pill still keeps it at 50/50? And not climaxing or ejaculating still keeps it at at 50/50 as opposed to ejaculating inside of her?? This doesnt seem right? The pill, as well as no ejaculation must carry some weight in the situation....
Avatar n tn I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen for a few years and it was lighter than before I was on the pill at all. Now on Seasonale, I get my period on Wednesday night, and it's pretty much gone by Saturday!
Avatar n tn My period came a week early and I am on birth control. Should I continue to take the hormones for this week while I am getting my period? Is it normal that my period came a week early while my cycle is being controlled my birth control?

Avatar m tn My girlfriend and I had sex without a condom and she is on birth control. she recently had her dosages changed to a higher dosage. She had gone through one cycle on her new dosage and after we had sex we got the day after pill 4 hrs. later it is probably me being paranoid but will we be ok with these steps we took?
Avatar f tn It may take at least 1-2 cycles for your periods to normalize. You can take your first pill on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period begins. If you start it on Sunday you may need to use back-up birth control, such as condoms or a spermicide, when you first start using this medication. Discuss it with your doctor about the most appropriate time for starting Ortho Novum 777. Do write to me again. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar n tn Last month it came a day early (one active pill left). Is this just my body adjusting to the pill? Am I still protected from pregnancy?
Avatar f tn When I was a teenager, my period was always on a Sunday. I've been on birth control for 18 years and it gradually changed days. I suggest take the pill asap, go get the morning after pill if you had sex within the last few days. Buy an early detection pregnancy test.
Avatar f tn I am on the pill and have been for about a year. I did get my period however it is a really light brown, which lasted about 5 days. I have not forgotten any pills or had unprotected sex in the last month. Could this mean early pregnancy?
172411 tn?1287089865 but, when I was (for many years), I would stop on Saturday w/ hormone, placebos starting on Sunday and my period would usually start late Tues/early Wed (3-4 days later). So, only a day may be too soon for you also. But, if you don't get your AF in the next couple of days, take a test to make sure before you start a new pack. And, just a quick call to your doc to let them know you didn't have AF...may be normal when you first start bcps.
Avatar n tn ok. I've been on birth control since about december and ever since i started my periods have been regular. well last month my period started a week early so instead of contining with that pack i went on the the next one, but my period continued to go for the next week. well now im a week short of pills so i dont really know if i should wait for the end of this pack and see if my period comes or wait until it comes to start the next pack.
Avatar m tn So I've been on birth control for about 3 or so months. I take the pill on a regular basis(sometimes a few hours early or late) And I honestly have a missed a couple but I always take them the next day, I am sexually active but he has been wearing a condom. I've never been late since I've been on birth control. Is there any way im pregnant, or am I late?
Avatar n tn I have been on the pill for 4 years. I got my period on March 9th and it lasted about 5 days and it was little light. I switched pills on March 14th. I had unprotected sex on the 19th and 20th, but I am on the pill. Today is the 25th and I have been experiencing some bleeding. It is not really red, but more brownish and a little thick. Should I be experiencing this since I switched pills and my body is trying to get used to the new pill?
Avatar f tn With hormonal birth control, the period you get is actually withdrawal bleeding from stopping the hormones, and not a usual period caused by ovulating and getting ready for a baby. That's why periods when you're on birth control tend to be so regular. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn You might want to use condoms for the next month to make sure that you will not get pregnant. Also consider other birth control then the pill. There are a couple options out there, such as the patch, or an IUD. That was you do not have to worry about forgetting them.
