Avatar f tn I have trigger points in my shoulder blade area and neck which pinch on nerves and refer pain to my head. I have tried exercises and massage which only give temporary relief then they come right back. I never tried trigger point injections. I never had problems with trigger points prior to Lyme, so I think it can be related. Maybe someone else has suggestions on how to get rid of them.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am very worried about my chest, breast, and shoulder pain on the right side. I have a dull pain with heat from my breast chest and back of my shoulder straight across from my breast to back. It gets worst and then it gets better. Above my collarbone is very sensitive. When I massage it the dull uncomfortable pain gets better. I also have a lump on my neck that connects to the spot above the collarbone. I have gone to the Dr.s but she said I have fibrosis. Something about muscles.
1088646 tn?1256949923 Thank you so much for your input!! I forgot to tell you that I have Osteoarthritis just about all over...it has fused the upper part of my spine together. The muscles that are giving me problems are in rolled up knots. I'm pretty sure it's from sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day. I know...what a dingy profession!! I have had an MRI and acupuncture. I am woking on my "stretching" exercises but will look up "self massage" techniques.
Avatar f tn There are several stretches you can do. Like the cat stretch. Though what will probably help the most is to go see a chiropractor and masage therapis. No worry most chiropractors no longer do the pop techniques though they still do the best work. Some are even covered by medical care. Feel better soon. I know how much a crazy back pain can just pull you down.
Avatar m tn I am a 53 year old male healthy male who has enjoyed lifting weights for almost 40 years. My problem is (right) shoulder pain. On 10/27/10 I had right shouldersubacromial decompression and a distal clavicle resection both done arthoscopically. No tendon tears were indicated at this time. On 9/30/11 The MRI impression noted a 1.9 cm os acromiale. Mild subdeltoid bursitis. Post operative changes noted.
1475492 tn?1332884167 I've had success in the past with massage and PT for stiff muscle pain. I'm contemplating trying acupuncture for neuropathic pain but no past experience with it. You may find relief from cortisone shots. I know you'd rather avoid drugs but in pain management, the belief seems to be to treat pain sooner than allowing it to worsen. By the time you're in so much pain you're willing to take anything, it may be much more difficult to treat and to get optimum relief.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have had some severe symptoms over the past year or so which started off as back pain and eventually became chronic hip pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain. I developed major insomnia and am now really sensitive to caffeine and alcohol.
Avatar f tn NavyChic79, you may very well have locked up a muscle in your back / shoulder blade area. You should schedule a couple of visits with a good pain relief massage therapist (licensed). Look for a neuromuscular massage specialist as they will have the skills / training to help you get this worked out. If left untreated this type of pain get get worse, last longer each time and become more difficult (take longer) to work out. It's much better to jump on it now while it's easier to undo.
1531375 tn?1294812585 Im having pain in the back of my neck down my left shoulder arms till my ring finger.
Avatar f tn I agree about the massage therapy is one the most effective treatments. My shoulder, shoulder blade, muscle knots etc. pain was diagnosed as a "snapping scapula" and thoracic outlet syndrome. I have had this as long as I can remember. 1. The snapping in the shoulder blade is when the scapula does not move smoothly over the back side of the ribs. 2.
Avatar n tn I called my doctor and they said get a massage and take iburophen w/ the muscle relaxer, I got a massage stiffness much better soreness in shoulder still there but now I have a sore throat. what can this be?
1710955 tn?1309446473 I had an MRI done and it showed two bulging discs on my C5/ C6 area, a tear in my tendon, along with impingement on the nerve. The pain radiated down my left side of my neck, into the shoulder and down the left arm to my fingers. It was the most excruciating pain ever! I thought I was having a heart attack because it was all on my left side and the pain was absolutely unbearable. During the day, it was so bad, except for lifting my arm. i couldn't... Too much pain.
Avatar f tn burning pain in back between left shoulder and spine.
Avatar m tn For quite some time I have had a burning sensation that I get on my back it used to come and go now it last much longer and everyday. Its located around the shoulder blade and literally feels like someone is putting a lighter to my back. It does not feel like internal pain at all.....it feels completely external. It has been getting to be almost unbearable, the pain medication my doctor prescribed me for a different back problem is barely doing anything anymore.
Avatar m tn 5 months ago that brought on the pain of your shoulder? Did the pain come gradually or did you experience a sudden acute pain after doing something or falling? When the doctor diagnosed that you have a frozen shoulder, he should have given you advice on the types of exercise to do or refer you to a physiotherapist who can give you the correct exercises to do and monitor how you are getting on.
Avatar f tn About a week ago I started with a pain under my right shoulder blade. After about 2 days ( I wait tables and bartend) it extended into my arm. It now throbs and tingles and my right hand is weak most of the time. I saw my doctor and he says that since I didn't do anything to hurt it that it's not muscular. He is sending me to have an EMG because he thinks it's carpal tunnel.
Avatar f tn Get a massage, they have helped me so much!
Avatar f tn if not, i would highly recommend going to a massage therapist. they do wonders in the shoulder area for this type of injury/condition. i clean houses for a living, so all the repetive motions i make with my arm, i'm usually in pain and have issues with moving my arm properly. since starting massage therapy, i have much better use in my shoulder and arm with minimal, if any, pain. i started out at twice a week (also have other issues in the arm) now i am down to an as needed basis for it.

What do u do?
543791 tn?1216381777 I definitely get pain there but not the snap, crackle and popping. My massage therapist does breast massage on me and showed me how to do it to myself and that helps to keep things loosened in that area.
Avatar n tn Pain in the shoulders can sometimes be from the shoulder, the shoulder blade or form problems in the neck. If your girlfriend is still having a problem, the doctor should refer her for xrays or other imaging and refer her to a physiotherapist. A physiotherapist would give her information with regard to the type of exercises she should do. In the meantime you can purchase anti inflammatory gels that you can massage into the shoulder and shoulder blade.
Avatar m tn I have had recurring pain in my shoulder, since a fall two years ago. First I had pain between my shoulder blades and spine which would come and go, with exercise. Now lately that has subsided but I am now having excruciating pain, in the socket area. I am unable to reach behind my back, or raise my arm over my shoulder without experiencing this extreme pain. It subsides as soon as I return the shoulder to a normal position.
