More than 24 hours after the injection (late Saturday nite) I developed a very painful lump in my right arm, but not at the site of the injection. The area is the opposite side of my arm (under) from where I received the shot, about 6-8 inches away from my armpit. Last night it was a round lump, extremely painful and I could not move my arm. This morning (Sunday) the swelling has increased. It is now non circular, about 1 inch wide, 3 inches long and is red and still very painful.
You may even be able to feel a hard lump at the injection site and that can actually last 3-4 weeks... If at any time you think there's a chance of infection (pus draining, red streaks radiating from the site, or feels really hot and hard to the touch after 3-4 days that appears to be getting worse instead of better) then you need to see your Dr.
I can understand your apprehensions regarding a persistent hard lump. This occurs due to local immunization reaction and can persist for weeks and months. If there is no pain, redness, swelling on the skin and if there is no pain on pressing, then nothing needs to be done. However, please do not keep checking the lump again and again or squeeze it.
If there is pain and redness, then this may be an abscess and may need to be drained.
However, you could show this to your doctor.
i have never had a Gardisil shot...too old at 53..but what u r describing is not listed as a side effect of the Gardisil shot from what i have read.U can Google Side Effects of Gardisil Shot...don't think u'll see this one there!
I went to my primary care physician and there was no evidence of infection at the biopsy site. While there is a steri-strip in place, the bleeding seems to have subsided on day 14. I need to take aspirin for heart-related problems and that seems to have been the culprit. Again, thanks for your replies.
The cath was negative but there is a hematoma at my right groin site that they think may be pressing against the nerve. I have pain in my leg and it is also in the bottom of my foot and ankle. Being a nurse I am freaking out that it might be a blood clot. I had an ultrasound done one week ago which showed the hematoma and my pulses are good both pedal and post tibial. I spoke with the doctor and he said to give it a week.
A week after that i noticed a lump above her collar bone just in front of the acromioclavicular joint.2 days later,one more in the posterior cervical area,and one under her maxillary (she complained about pain in that area for 2 days).I am so very worried bacause of the location of the supraclavicular node(is there a supraclavicular node towards the shoulder?)The node when observed was as large as a pea or maybe a bean..

Hi, just read your message on the lump on your neck, I just had 4,5, and 6 anterior fusion and I have the same lump at the neck incision area, my surgery was 11/18/14 and was never given a neck brace even after i mentioned it, so two days after going home I called and got a perscription steriod pack and told to use ice packs at the site. did the ice and working on the precription, so far swelling is smaller but still feels knotted up, Have you had any luck with this?

t not believe the lump is cancer. She bumped her leg while jogging recently and got a lump at the site of the impact too. That lump went away in time. She is confused by the thinking of the diff. doctors who have tried to help and advise.

The titer is re-checked if there is potential contact with infected blood or the person has low immunity for some reason. Usually if your first immunization was successful, you would not need a repeat immunization. Hope this helps. Take care!

I have 24 years and for the first time in my life appeared a small lump at the bottom of the penis. Namely it is a small lump in the size of small peas or rice. The lump is movable under the skin and so can not be suppressed. Probably inside the small lump is quite hard. I do not feel pain when I do not disturb the site, but when I tried to be squeezed feel pain and can not be taken out because it is inside. I considered, but I wonder whether this is a problem, whether the infection or injury.
