Avatar f tn I had no idea! He did use the word abscess instead of cyst. Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes!
Avatar m tn SHe has a large non painful hard lump at the injection site, fever and a temperature of 40.5. She is shivering and not eating. Our vet has her on anti inflammatories and antibiotics and has suggested a blood testa after three days if no improvement. We've also been told if her temp gets up to 41 to cool her down in a cold bath. I'm not sure if our vet knows what to do in this situation. I need another opinion.
Avatar n tn m a Nurse and today a lump appeared right after the injection site with screaming pain. This has never happened. He just gets a little stinging and that's it. What did I do wrong? I pinched the skin, swabbed just down, massaged for two mins. and the lump, it has gone down, why?

233622 tn?1279334905 also after a a day or so at the injection site sometimes I get a lump that has a bug bite itch.....the nurse told me 24 hours after injection rub the lump to break it up ...and it works...... the lump and the itch go away..... I hope you find a system that works for you....I would ask your doctor..... what about calling the nurse from where you get your Betaseron...Im sure she will try to help reduce the site reactions. 649464 tn?1223916026 and last night i noticed behind her left front leg she has a lump under her skin i was wondering if maybe this is common from an injection site she is 8 months old. i called the vet.
Avatar f tn I am just finishing up my 2nd month of Copaxone. I had increased site reactions starting at about 3 weeks, and now they are mostly calming down again. Some spots are better than others. My stomach has very little reaction. My arms and hips I'll get a hive & lump, sometimes discomfort, but that goes away in about a day. My thighs are the worst and not only sting and have lumps, but I get bruises there also which can last weeks.
Avatar n tn if you get a bump after an insulin injection it means that you chose a poor injection site. Insulin absorbs into subcutaneous fat. So wherever you shot and a bump comes up, that means there was not enough fat in that spot to absorb the insulin you just shot. try picking a more fatty area and shooting very slowly.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone else has lingering red/bruise marks at the injection site. I have taken 6 shots so far and still have a red bruise mark at injection site after six weeks. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if this is typical. Could someone please help me out here. Kinda nervious about giving the shot tonight.
2030686 tn?1351688548 I had shot site reactions only while I was on Incivek, and at first they looked like the start of a rash. They went away once I was off the PI Make sure you are doing your injections into the fat layer and not into muscle or if in the belly, not at your beltline. This will help ensure a controlled release of interferon and help to keep a steady blood plasma level.
Avatar f tn Choose an injection site on your stomach or thigh. Avoid the 2 inch area around your navel and your waistline. Use a different place each time you give yourself an injection. See page 47 for graphics: http://www.gene.com/gene/products/information/pegasys/pdf/pi.
Avatar m tn s nothing to be alarmed about.
Avatar f tn one thing that will relieve the redness is to use an ice pack on the injection site for 30 minutes or so after. It will help to reduce swelling and discomfort.
Avatar f tn More than 24 hours after the injection (late Saturday nite) I developed a very painful lump in my right arm, but not at the site of the injection. The area is the opposite side of my arm (under) from where I received the shot, about 6-8 inches away from my armpit. Last night it was a round lump, extremely painful and I could not move my arm. This morning (Sunday) the swelling has increased. It is now non circular, about 1 inch wide, 3 inches long and is red and still very painful.
Avatar n tn I have an 8 month old golden retriever and have just noticed a lump on the back of his meck - just above where his back starts. Th lump is about the size of a gold ball. Could this be the identity chip we had put in or something sinister?
Avatar f tn Later yesterday though I noticed several welts on my arms in another site of injection and red splotches were on my arms and legs. I ended up taking a antihistamine because I was concerned that this was an allergic reaction and they have since lessened considerably. I have not injected since this began and will contact my doctor in the morning to find out how they want me to proceed.
1526464 tn?1300179558 I am ticked off at the vet because she put my dog on an anti-biotic that I had never heard of. My dog has tested and tolerated doxy, & tetra but she put him on Simplicef. After giving the RX for a few days, I noticed that my dog was itching so much, literally jumping out of his skin. I called the vet & the tech assured me that NO such side effect has been reported with that med. A few days later, I find a bump on his groin area and rash on his leg.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm new to the group and thought I'd share my frustrations with you to see what you think. Last Friday night I noticed one small lump the size of a big marble located approximately 3 inches under my dog's (Dixie) right jaw and under the skin. I took her to the vet Sat. morning and they said it was an abscess and they gave me some antibiotics. They said if it gets bigger or doesn't seem to get smaller to bring her back on Monday.
