Lump at rabies injection site

Common Questions and Answers about Lump at rabies injection site

lump

Avatar f tn Within two days of having the injection, she had developed a lump at the site of the injection, which was about the size of half an egg. We rushed her to the Vets and they suggested waiting for it to go down, as it could have been inflammation/reaction to the antibiotic injection. I didn't want to wait, as I had researched and found that VAS was common not only from vaccine injections, but from any kind of injection! *cries*... so we opted to have a biopsy done (just the cells).
Avatar m tn SHe has a large non painful hard lump at the injection site, fever and a temperature of 40.5. She is shivering and not eating. Our vet has her on anti inflammatories and antibiotics and has suggested a blood testa after three days if no improvement. We've also been told if her temp gets up to 41 to cool her down in a cold bath. I'm not sure if our vet knows what to do in this situation. I need another opinion.
3097569 tn?1341109057 The two vaccines most likely to cause cancer at the injection site are Rabies and FeLV, because both diseases are caused by direct contact with an infected animal, the risk for indoor only cats greatly outweigh the reward. These two vaccines are the only ones that use a killed virus and a killed vaccine needs the addition of an adjuvant, its these adjuvants that cause the the tumors....
Avatar n tn a killed virus needs the addition of an ADJUVANT to give the immune system a poke because it doesn't contain the virus that the live ones do. UNFORTUNATELY ITS THESE ADJUVANTS THAT CAUSE THE TUMORS AT THE INJECTION SITE. one of the culprits is aluminum hydroxide used in the adjuvant material." theres more printed, but that I think answers your immediate question..
Avatar n tn The pain I am in starts at the site of the injection. It is a deep throbbing pain that at times will be severe sharp pains. The pain is worsening with each passing day and now is radiating into my shoulder and my neck area. Unfortunately this is my right arm so its effecting every aspect of my life. I can no longer sleep on my right side and I have to use extreme caution picking up something or moving it in a paticular way.
2087170 tn?1332603145 I'm wondering if you've ever spoken to a Vet/oncologist regarding Vitamin C injections at the site?....I've read reports of how this can shrink the tumor, not a cure but at least a measure to help with the spread..
Avatar m tn About two months ago she started moaning a lot while she was just lying down. Sometimes it is loud enough to wake us up at night. It really does sound like she is in pain, and she is not the type of dog to ever whine or cry, she is very tough. Prior to this, the only time she has ever cried from pain was when I accidentally closed the door on her tail. It's not a constant moan, but somewhat frequent throughout the night or in the evening when we are watching tv.
Avatar n tn My Rotweiller, at age 5, demonstrated the same symptoms. I took him him to the vet immediately, in Feb. 06. He had an enlarged prostate gland. He passed on May 4, 06. Turns out he had prostate cancer that eventually moved into his lungs. Don't want to scare you, but the symptoms sound so familiar to me. The dog needs to see his doctor.
Avatar f tn She is in fourth stage renal failure-Of course she has seen her regular vet for fluids-ultra sound revealed she has one kidney which is failing. Creatine was 13-subs at home-now using hollistic and homepatic treatment. Recently more bad days than good. I am giving her ice chips which seem to work better for her than lapping. Pedialyte ice is also better.
Avatar n tn I am trying to get in to a new neurologist at Mass General Hospital. They said hopefully before Christmas. I hope to not get any more weak before then. I did go to a neurologist last Friday who said I have polyneuropathy. I have started to go much further down hill though. I have read all the posts here and feel for all of you. I hope we all recover sooner than later.
Avatar f tn I was told at my fertility clinic that fertility patients tend to cramp more. I can't remember why that was but the cramping can also be from implantation. I had a lot of that when I got pregnant both times. Good luck. The odds are in your favor. IVF works 50% of the time. I bet it's working on you. Take care and let us know what happens.
Avatar n tn I've been taking Claritin and Benadryl but that doesn't seem to help at all. My doctor also gave me a prescription medicine called Atarax, which only makes me drowsy and doesn't help the itchy feeling. Any suggestions? Btw, I've taken blood tests to see if there is anything wrong but everything came out fine.
