Avatar m tn When my friend adopted her cat from a shelter she was told that this cat had been treated for URI and was no longer contagious even though she continued to have trouble breathing (making noises). Then my friend adopted another cat and this second cat did not get sick although there was a time when he would not eat for a few days. Then my friend and her cats moved in with me about 2 years ago and 6 of my 7 cats got sick with URI.
Avatar f tn or my Is it safe to keep cat at home for my fathers health. ?How do I understand ,when the cat was at rescue. He got Leptospirosis or not? which vaccination is required for cat to protect my father? Is rabbies vaccination safe for cat?
Avatar n tn The cath was negative but there is a hematoma at my right groin site that they think may be pressing against the nerve. I have pain in my leg and it is also in the bottom of my foot and ankle. Being a nurse I am freaking out that it might be a blood clot. I had an ultrasound done one week ago which showed the hematoma and my pulses are good both pedal and post tibial. I spoke with the doctor and he said to give it a week.
Avatar f tn He is usually so playful and full of energy. I took him to be spayed on Thursday June 19, and they gave him another rabies vaccination when he has already had one a few months ago. When he got home after being spayed, he was pretty normal for the first couple days. Now it’s the Tuesday following, June 24, and he vomited 2-3 times yesterday and 2-3 times today. Can anyone tell me what u should do?

Avatar n tn s no reason to specifically believe that it was caused by fighting with another cat, that I know of, unless the vet recognized a cat scratch at the site. Is there any sign of anything like that? Does the lump feel hard or soft? Can you move it around at all (if you see what I mean) or does it stay put? If it is an infection, she should have antibiotics prescribed and most likely, an antibiotic injection. It could also be a bug bite, I suppose, in which case she might require antihistamines.
Avatar f tn My 7 year old black lab has a lump on the back of his neck where he received an inoculation as a puppy. The lump developed within days and has never caused any problems. Well.... a few days ago I noticed it appeared to have bled. I thought I'd caught it with his Furminator so cleaned it up and it was 'fine'. Tonight I noticed his hair in that area looked clumped together and I can see where blood has come thru the hair follicle openings. I'm very concerned!
Avatar f tn Rabies is hard on any cat, but especially so on an older one:( but I see what ur up against and it's better to vaccinate than leave him behind, just do so well ahead of yr planned moved so he has time to recoup from the after effects well ahead of the trauma of a long flight.
Avatar f tn Yup I would get it. The only other option is to give them the cat so they can disect it's brain. The rabies vaccination has not had any bad side effects on pregnancy as of yet!
Avatar m tn This is what so many people don't understand, that a trip to the vet, for an older cat, is very traumatic. My own cat's heart beats so fast and she pants like yours, I hate to put her through that. My cat has a lump on the end of her tail also, she's 13. She doesn't act sick at all and the lump doesn't seem to hurt her or bother her when I pressed down on it, although she didn't particularly like me messing with her tail right there either. I don't know what to do.
Avatar m tn ve been to the vet recently, it may also be a reaction to a vaccination, as the hind legs are a common site for injections. Keep an eye on it and if it grows fast or she remains uncomfortable when you touch it, I would see your vet sooner rather than later.
Avatar f tn We discovered a lump on the left foot of our 3 year old male cat. It is sticking out right about at the wrist. We have taken him to the vet and the lump is very hard. They gave him an antibiotic shot in hopes that it was perhaps an abscess and would go down. It did not and actually has increased in size. He does not limp and gets around on it just fine but it does hurt when you push on it. We have plans to take him in and have it removed.
Avatar f tn I found a lump on the right side of my kitty neck he is only 11 mths old he is eating and drinking and playing alot and seems fine , do you think this is serious or should I not worry!!
Avatar f tn my cat scratched me on thursday on my leg will that cause a problem for me having my surgery tomorrow
Avatar n tn You must take a Tetanus booster and anti Rabies vaccination as soon as possible but both should not be taken at the same time . Please visit a health care centre for the same . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
Avatar f tn This is so that if an injection site tumor does develop, the leg can be removed, removing the cancer and saving the life of the animal. If an injection site carcinoma develops on the hip or on the neck, nothing can be done other than excision of the tumor, but in many cases it spreads anyway and the animal ends up dying of cancer.
Avatar m tn t already, I would get another opinion from another vet. Our kitty had a lump on his tail too awhile back near the base of his tail. The lump turned out to be a beneign cyst, so the lump is not necessarily a tumor and there was no surgery involved in the case of our kitty. I hope you find my suggestion helpful for your dear Sammy the cat.
1748949 tn?1318287437 i did my wk 14 shot last night and as i was injecting the fon rang and it startled me and i guess i pulled the needle out just a bit and it was going UNDER my skin and so i stopped and reinjected the remander or the shot but I had a lump at thefirst injection site and i was wondering if even after rubbing the site if the medicatin will do what its suppose to since i messed up a bit. VERY concerned. I want this treatment to work and hope it will be ok.
Avatar n tn My cat, Hope, is about three years old. I recently noticed a lump on her back. The lump is located near the end of her spine, close to her tail. The lump feels squishy, like it is filled with liquid. It is about and inch in diameter and about half an inch tall. I tried to find something on Google, but could find nothing.
Avatar n tn This is the 13th day following stereotatic biopsy for microcalcification cluster. While the results were benign, I continue to bleed from the biopsy site and there seems to be a hematoma at the site as well. There is no infection but I'm wondering if a dissapating hematoma might be the cause for continued bleeding. This discussion is related to Lump after stereotactic biopsy.
874521 tn?1424116797 t have to be concerned with all those unnecessary vaccines that have a greater potential for harm. It was after a routine vaccination that my previous cat started showing the first signs of IBD, so thi has already been on my mind concerning my present cat. Plus, with all I've learned about human vaccines, I'm not too keen on giving too many vaccines to my cat. I can see that there are actually MORE problems with modern vaccines than even th ones given when I was a child.
