1650779 tn?1342036603 In thinking about your main motivation for weight loss, are you most focused on losing weight by a certain date (e.g. I want to lose weight for a wedding or graduation), on losing a certain amount of weight (e.g. I just want to lose 15 pounds), or on weight loss in general (I don't care about weighing a certain amount, I just want to weigh less)?
Avatar f tn You know losing weight is a process; and depending on the amount you want to lose, it could be a lengthy process. Having clear short-term and long-term goals will make that process more exciting. Once you define what you want to achieve and when, write those goals in a notebook or on the computer. At the beginning, especially if you've been away from a regular exercise program for awhile, you should set weekly goals and one ultimate goal.
1543882 tn?1293417476 I am young, 17, and I really need some motivation to start losing weight. Any mentors, tips, suggestions?
Avatar f tn Even if they are helpful in losing weight, they make you lose weight by suppressing appetite, causing indigestion, preventing absorption of nutrients, and other such drastic routes. Though you lose weight, the weight loss is not healthy. I suggest you eat frequent small meals and stop counting calories. It is best to eat lots of fruits and non-starchy green veggies, go slow on fats, eat carbohydrates in moderation and increase your protein intake (lean cuts, whites of eggs etc).

Avatar f tn So I've been on a low calorie diet (less than 1500 calories) per day and working out at the gym for an hour oror more 4 times a week. I'm currently at 147lbs and have been for the last 3 weeks!! Since i started my diet. Has this happened to anyone else. I know it might just be muscle keeping me from losing weight. I would love some advice about working out and losing weight.
Avatar n tn I keep losing my motivation to go to the gym and eating healthier. Has anyone got anything that can help me?
Avatar f tn The key to losing fat belly is self-motivation, exercise, eating a more healthy diet and consuming fewer calories than you use up. You can also add skin products like thermofit for losing weight or body wraps for tighter appearance of your tummy. Be positive that you'll eventually loose it.
Avatar f tn Do your research though on how to go about losing weight the healthiest way possible. And if you are blessed enough to get the motivation you need, go full force into losing weight and never look back. If someone as lazy and crazy as me can lose 23lbs and occasionally get compliments, you will do it definitely. I believe in you and in a God who will give you all the strength and motivation that you need.
Avatar f tn My grandaughters are 18 months old they are triplets who can not walk and appear to be losing weight, they were born weighing 5lbs, 4lbs11oz, and 4lbs9oz, now they seem to lack motivation, and are getting extremely skinny

Avatar n tn For example, losing weight to improve your self-esteem is a personal motivation as opposed to losing weight because your family wants you to. Invest in resolutions that are personal to you,” says Misti Gueron M.S., RD, medical nutrition therapist at the Khalili Center. Whether it’s boosting your self-confidence or having more energy to play with your kids, determine your intrinsic motivation and write it down somewhere so that it will personally inspire you to stay on track.
Avatar n tn I have read many questions about people losing their motivation to loose their extra weight, and I am the exact same way. I would really love to shed the weight, but I have no idea on how I can keep myself motivated. So my question would be, how can I stay motivated to loose weight for sure??

5891248 tn?1406410864 I was very active before I got pregnant. I weighed 135 and 5ft5inches tall. I used the treadmill, elliptical, my bike about 4-5 days a week. Then became pregnant and felt sick and couldn't work out. When I started feeling better and I'd walk, which lasted a couple weeks, then felt yucky again. Then I lost motivation because I think what's the point? I won't use weight so I've decided to just wait till after I have the baby.
Avatar f tn Cutting carbs, sugar, and salt make a huge difference. You shouldn't do the same workout everyday in a row. You should alternate cardio and weights on different days. Walk outside, get some oxygen! Give your muscles a break. Drink tons of water. Stay away from gatorade and powerade as much as possible because of the calories and sugar (or sugar substitutes). Drink Green tea. Take pure raspberry key tones, moringa, and pure green coffee bean extract daily.

11722359 tn?1420664489 Where do you find the motivation to lose the weight, become healthy for you and your kids when your family and significant other doubts you?
Avatar f tn Hi Meggiemariee, I just read your comments. It's already April 23rd. You say your average weight loss is about five pounds. That's an awful lot in one week, Meggiemariee. Instead of putting that kind of pressure on yourself, i.e. your goal of losing 24 lbs by the end of may or early June. That's too much weight in such a short period of time. I would not advise it.
Avatar f tn Well I have tried over and over again with pills shakes nutrisystem slim fast weight warchers etc you name it I tried it.
1657318 tn?1312172783 Sounds like you are experiencing a "Plateau" phase which the body seems to take a 'rest' from losing weight and you are just staying the same in weight. You could be gaining lean muscle weight from your exercising. Muscle does weight more than fat so the scale may not reflect what is happening to your body. Suggest you continue what you have been doing and measure your body to determine weight loss/toning, not a scale. Thank you for your question.
