495284 tn?1333894042 Yeah - when my appetite crashed I used ensure or the walgreeens brand of liquid nutrition.....it is important to maintain nutrition and hydration...and keep up the vitamins. I also think that the amino acid protocol (link at bottom right of page) is valid after stomach and abdominal troubles slacken up.....feed your head and body. You may want to try melatonin, sleepytime tea (celestial seasonings) or benadryl for sleep - the calcium/magnesium will help with legs and creepy skin.....
Avatar f tn I have also lost 3 inches around my bust but gained 2 inches around my baby bump within the last 2 weeks! I am plus size so losing weight is exciting but is it NORMAL!? I feel fantastic no more morning sickness. So where is it going?

Avatar f tn My teen age son (16.5 years old, 62 21% body fat) increased his weight so he could develop muscles by weight lifting. Now he wants to go on a keto diet to better define his muscles. I have type one diabetes and understand the effects of the body breaking down protein for fuel, and losing ketones through urine. I am worried about the effect on him. Should I be concerned? .
650685 tn?1238004750 Hi Two years ago I was diagnosed Hypothyroid for which I take 100mg Levothyroxine . At the same time because of a strong genetic link I was tested for blood sugar.. I was told I was pre diabetic & that I would almost 100% become type 2 in a few years. Since that shock report I have managed to lose weight & get fit. I am 61 years old & I feel quite well .. Question is just by losing weight & keeping fit would that stop the onset of type 2?
Avatar n tn I am having a hard time losing weight even though I exercise and eat pretty well. My levels are at the correct level as of 1 month ago. Are there certain foods I should avoid (besides the obvious).
Avatar f tn I was losing weight mainly because of the headaches, and my work was beginning to suffer. I went to a nutritionist regarding my tiredness and weight loss. The nutritionist committed me to one month of perfect eating, sleeping, routine walks and no alcohol. After the month I was symptom free. No headaches, great energy, and the muscle aches have subsided. I've been maintaining the proper diet, sleep, walking and moderation on alcohol.
Avatar m tn You could also try increasing the protein content of the diet for losing weight and gaining muscle mass. Consultation with a nutritionist may be helpful for the same. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

I have a history of anorexia and bulimia since I was 14 - in the course of 4 years my weight went down to 40 kg and then up to 68 kg, for a height of 165 cm. In the last 5 years I got back to a relatively normal eating pattern (no more diets or binge eating, obsessive exercise etc.). In the last 2-3 years my weight stabilized at 54-58 kg.
Avatar f tn Hair loss can sometimes occur with suboptimal nutrition. During times of significant weight loss, nutrition and even sleep can be adversely affected. I think it would be smart to have a visit with your general doctor to go over everything, and also consider testing for medical causes of hair loss, like hypothyroidism.
Avatar n tn The way to lose weight after a hysterectomy is the same weight loss concept as any other, and involves losing fat and gaining muscle. Have a medical exam performed by your doctor to rule out any other causes of sudden weight gain, such as a thyroid problem. Make dietary changes to reduce your calorie intake. Do cardiovascular exercises for at least 60 minutes three to four times a week. Do strength training exercises three to four times each week, giving your muscles a day to rest in between.

Avatar f tn There could be a variety of reasons that she is losing weight and falling because of her weakness. The vet would need to determine if the situation is a medical one, or the mare is just not getting enough nutrition. Pregnancy and nursing can take a lot out of a mare. During this time, nutrition requirements are different than if she were not pregnant/nursing. As well, there could be a problem with her teeth, and they would need "floating" by the vet.
Avatar n tn Diet control and exercise are two essential keys for losing weight in a healthy way. Losing 15 kgs in one month is being over ambitious. It is not correct and healthy to lose so much of weight at one time. I would advise you to start with what is feasible for you. Eat foods which are high in fiber so that it gives you a feeling of fullness. Eat more fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C as vitamin C is a fat burner. Avoid sugary foods and foods high in fat and claories.
