lexapro vs klonopin

What a mistake! I had bad reactions to both and my new Psych has put me back on Lexapro and Klonopin and I am feelin. Has any one else had experieces similiar to this.

I really need to start again a SSRI for my extreme panic disorder and I want to know if the Celexa will work to stop the panic disorder, since I took it for my social phobia at 60 mg/day back in 1999 for 6 months and it did nothing for the social anxiety and my anxiety level didn't improve on it?

Okay everyone I am desperate. I was diagnowed with severe ocd specificallyspecifically relationship OCD after coming off celexa (I weaned off as instructed). Well anyway I got intrusive thoughts wondering if I loved my very loving boyfriend anymore. I doubted everything... had break downsand decoded to go back on celexa got suicidal... the whole 9... long story short... I was switched to lexapro and am now starting week 4.

A month ago I was switched over from Paxil CR 25mg to Lexapro 10mg and felt better after 2 weeks. At that point I tried to wean down my Klonopin from 1mg to .5mg and up my Lexapro from 10mg to 15mg (doctors recommendations) after a week of doing that I felt terrible and went back up to Klonopin 1mg deciding to ween later. Well now I am a month into the start of Lexapro and even though my anxiety is better, its not great.

Can anyone tell me if it is safe to switch from Xanax to Klonopin abruptly and deal with the taper of the Klonopin later or should I do an inter dose schedule, crossing from one to another and at what rate? Please help, any suggestion is appreciated.

I have been taking Lexapro 10mg for about 2 weeks now or more. And I take it for anxiety. I will say, the 1st few days after taking it, I got extreme anxiety... but it wore off after taking my klonopin (which im new to. I went from ativan which didnt work anymore, to klonopin, just like that, no weaning off ativan, just switched, NO ISSUES. =) ) Anyways, after taking the lexapro for a few days, those feelings of heightened anxiety left. And there was one week where I felt almost manic happy!

It seems to be the only thing that helps. She wants me to start Lexapro 20mg daily and wean off of klonopin. I hate Lexapro because the brain fog when I tried it 2 years ago. Two questions: Is it safe to take all 3 at once (daily)? Should I try herbal things for anxiety other then Lexapro?

I would take the anti-depressant and change to Klonopin. My doc told me the Klonopin is better because it stays in you blood longer. You might find you won't need the benzo if the AD works for your anixety. You WILL need to take one until the AD kicks in and that's for sure. I still take my Klonopin but take .25 almost daily. I will stop that soon though (I hope). I'm kind of using it as a muscle relaxer instead of for anxiety at this point.

I have been dealing with anxiety for a few years now. I am a 18 year old male. I have anxiety attacks at work and can't think or concentrate. I feel very awkard, uncomfortable, and just plain weird sometimes. I have a friend that is taking Celexa and he said the side effects were a nightmare for 3 weeks but then he got better. I took 5mg of a Celexa and felt horribly weird. I know it has the s enhibitors and the r. The lexapro I want to take has a lot of the r enhibitors.

5mg klonopin one day then skip 2 days then .5mg xanax and skip 2 day then a klonopin .5mg... so over all I am on 3 pills a week...my concerns are dependancy,tolerance and addiction..and withdrawals.....any advice would be greatly appreciated...

I am on 30 mg of lexapro and 1 mg of klonopin 3 times a day ( klonopin) we switched to lexapro several months ago as I was on prozac and was a mess! So far I have been doing better, just a little anxiety when I first wake up. Not sure if this was normal or not.

I followed up with my family doctor 2 days later who evaluated me and decided to put me on Lexapro (10mg), and Klonopin (.5 mg). My question is, after i take the Lexapro (SSRI) in the morning along with 1 mg kilonopin, can i take xanax as well around 6 to 8 hours later if i feel i need it? Basically, can i mix Klonopin and Xanax if not taken at the same time? I also am told to take another 1 mg of Klonopin before bedtime to help me sleep, but it doesnt really work to well??

Take lexapro and .25 klonopin .25 ativan. Any or all of these cause tiredness? Comes and goes.

It is definitely a possibility, I was given the same combo lexapro and klonopin for a while. I never took the klonopin. After withdrawing from Lexapro I did seem to have a burst of energy.

Klonopin lasts longer and with it being prescribed 2 times a day, it will control your anxiety all day and night. I take the 1mg Klonopin in the morning and two at night. I am also on Lexapro, and this combination has worked very well for me. I hope this helped and take care!

Call a pharmacist. Walgreens are usually open 24 hours. lol. I call them all the time with questions like that. I take an Lexapro with my klonopin. Klonopin is a benzo, and Lexapro is an antidepressant. What's trazodone? Is that another benzo? Are you taking 2 benzos at the same time? Call your Dr. and ask or call a pharmacist. Good Evening Forum, This is Bob again. It has been three weeks. I went from 2 tablets (each tablet of Klonopin is .5 mg) to 1/2 tablet per day. I take a half of tablet before I hit the sack. I've been on a 1/2 for the last three days. Believe me forum, this medication is not easy to ween yourself off of. Please follow your Docs advice. I was on Lexapro at the same time as Klonopin. Now I'm down to just Klonopin alone, an unbelievable 1/2 a tablet or .25 mg worth of Klonopin.

So, I've firmly decided that yesterday's dose of lexapro would be my first and last one. My doctor gave me a prescription for Klonopin to replace my xanax but I havent started it yet. I have severe health anxiety and the possibility of Xanax withdrawal scares me to death. I've been taking Xanax 1.5mg a day for exactly a moth and a half. Before that, I used to only take 0.25mg a day.

i was going to commit myself to inpatient but thed r upped my klonopin to 1 mg twice a dau amd started me on lexapro,im afraid of meds but i took it i was on celexa in 07 and im feeling so drugged out today,maybe the upping of the klonopin was to much,,,im hoping lexapro is a good drug and will work fast,,,does it cause confusion please only postive words

I no longer want to be on the Lexapro but would like to continue with the Klonopin. I started weening my self off the Lexapro only taking half. Yesterday and today I did not take any, and was feeling extremely light headed all day. It wasn't until midday today I realized the light headed feeling could be from not taking my medication, so I took a half, and within 30 minutes I wasn't feeling light headed and haven't since. What was causing my light headed feeling?

I'm thinking the same thing. My Lexapro, I dunno if it's helping me or not. But at the same time I dont' wanna be on Klonopin forever. I started at 1mg my first week or so, then down to .5mg for a week or so, then I've been on .25mg for about a week now. Def. feeling some fatigue, dunno if it's from the reduction of Klonopin or what. I may slowly taper off my Lexapro til my Dr. get's back into the country.

The Xanax worked better for me as far as a quick fix. I am now taking Klonopin along with Paxil. I take the Klonopin twice a day where I was taking Xanax only once a day. I didn't notice any sexual side effects with Xanax. I haven't noticed any side effects with the Klonopin either though. But I guess it affects each person differently. I did notice that with Xanax, it will make you very relaxed. Klonopin doesn't have that same affect on me. But, the Paxil does!!!!

i take celexa after switching from lexapro cause of insurance. very similar drugs. i also take klonopin .05 mg in the morning when my anxiety is most hightened. i just take my celexa together with the klonopin as if it were one drug and it helps me. my personal experience (although im pretty new to this) is that lex and celexa didnt really help much with anxiety! but when i take the klonopin with it it is a great combo!

I was currently on Leaxpro and just got changed to Paxil and Klonopin. I also take propranolol for my heart twice a day. Is it safe for these medications to be taken together?

It sounds like your anxiety is coming back because you've lowered your dose of Klonopin. Have you thought about upping it again to maybe .25 twice a day to see if that helps? If it does'nt then you can always up it to .50 twice a day. I also take Lexapro 10 mgs and it does'nt help my anxiety very much. I was at 20 mgs and that seemed to be helping but I was so tired I had to cut back on it.So I also need an anti anxiety med.
