328799 tn?1276565732 alright, so i went to the doctors yesterday because my anxiety has been really bad latley. my doctor decided to put me on a new anti - depressent. im currently on Luvox which i've been on for about 9 years now, and he's weaning me off of that to half of my normal dose for ten days, then he's putting me on 10 mg of Lexapro (the new one he's put me on) while still taking the half of Luvox, then after a week im going completley off the Luvox and then taking 20 mg of Lexapro.
Avatar f tn Still have anxiety and breakthrough panic attacks. He has given me the choice of lexapro or Zoloft. Since Celexa and lexapro are so similar, I'm concerned that the lexapro won't work given that the Celexa stopped working. On the other hand, he has warned me that Zoloft is more activating, which is not good for anxiety and panic. Thoughts? Advice? Similar experiences?
Avatar f tn I am switching from luvox 200mg to lexapro 20mg. The luvox caused weight gain, fatigue, sexual side effects. Wellbutrin I have heard makes OCD worse because it raises levels of dopamine.
Avatar n tn m taking up to 4 or 5 mgs of ativan daily plus 20 mgs Lexapro at night. The psyc told me to stay on the Lexapro while beginning a dose of 70 mgs of Clomipermine, and to stay on Lexapro indefinitly. I really don't want to do that. I'm not clinically depressed. Any suggestions? Is Luvoc a better drug for OCD? HELP!!!!! .
Avatar m tn ive stopped from 5mg of lexapro to 5 mg of paxil , and will up my dose in a week. anyone done the same thing? what sideeffects did u have?
713972 tn?1230052003 Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Luvox, Paxil, or Zoloft, to name a few.
286686 tn?1416012340 In the past he was on lexapro, wellbutrin and Zoloft with no relief, that is why he is on anafranil and luvox now. Thanks for listening.
3755490 tn?1349297255 The new doctor gave me this to start out with. ( Luvox CR 150mg ) to take at night. The next day had bad hot flashes felt faint and lightheaded and worn out. I AM NOT TAKING THIS STUFF AGAIN!!!. It is now the 2nd day after and I have had a hot flash again and fell very nervous and lightheaded. How long will this **** last and be out of my system???
Avatar f tn Your profile says you're from the US, and this drug isn't used all that much here. So if you don't get a lot of responses, that's why. It's used mostly in Europe, due partly to a quirk in its initial development. It just didn't apply for US approval for a long time, and didn't market it here very much when it was new.
Avatar f tn It depends on how the Lexapro is affecting the person. Some people report drowsiness after taking it, in which case, obviously a bedtime dose makes more sense, whereas some report feeling more "up", energized, so those people do better with a morning dose. If you feel that you'd do better with a different administration time, ask your doc, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. It doesn't hurt to try something like that.
Avatar n tn s have started the practice of prescribing Lexapro to help with the psychological trauma of being newly diagnosed with Diabetes. A lot of times, the endo's do not know (or have not researched into) that Lexapro in fact has some serious nasty side effects - although the maker (Forest Pharmaceutical) says there is no risk of addition or side effects. If you can avoid it - do so. Even in the 10mg form it can cause you more grief and depression if used over a period of time.
Avatar f tn luvox worked better than anything for me ( fluvoxamine maelate ) anti anxiolytic anti depressant, no weight gain
Avatar f tn I forgot~I was diagnosed with OCD and tried Paxil, Prozac, Lexapro, Celexa, and Wellbutrin which were all unsuccessful. Luvox worked but I am ready to try and live life without it.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have a teen with GAD and beginning lexapro. I'm hoping some here could share experiences while taking this drug, i.e. especially bothersome side effects? how long before you felt a little less anxious? sleep disturbances? Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn m on Celexa now but am wondering if maybe Lexapro would be better since anxiety is my biggest concern. Has anyone had suggest with Lexapro. Also does Lexapro cause weight gain like Celexa?
Avatar n tn Hello, I just switched from Lexapro to Wellbutrin. I was originally taking lexapro for anxiety which I have had for the past 10 or so years. After my daughter was born, I was then taking it for both anxiety and depression. I normally am not a depressed person. Now I switched to Wellbutrin because of the sexual side effects of Lexapro. My concern is that I have felt really dopy the last couple of weeks.
Avatar f tn Due to insurance changes, my doc has changed me to Luvox CR. My usual dose of Luvox is 150 mg once a day. The Luvox CR comes in 100 mg capsules. Would it be okay to take 200 mg of Luvox CR on one day and 100 mg of Luvox CR the next, and alternate since I can't divide the capsules? Thank you.
2010625 tn?1329372056 Zoloft, celexa, lexapro, and paxil. I am currently on Luvox but find it not helping my symptoms very much. I have also been getting headaches from the luvox. It seems I just keep getting nasty side effects from these and have to discontinue use due to them. I haven't given up hope. I know there has to be a medication out there that is right for me and it may be prozac.
Avatar f tn The zoloft never seemed to work well, would have jitteriness, sweats and would seem to stop working around my period. I am going to see a naturopath and starting progesterone as she thinks that is my issue but I didn't feel I could go off a antidepresant yet so asked to switch to lexapro. Lexapro doesn't seem to be working well, still jittery crying spells etc. Never had anxiety before so at a loss at this point, am only 39 so very frustrating.
Avatar f tn t even take a Sudafed without being jittery and feeling strange. Granted, we are all different, but with that being said, I had virtually no side effects from Lexapro. Celexa is very close in chemical makeup, but that one didn't work well for me for my anxiety. I know it does for others, with minimal side effects, so it may be a good choice.
