lexapro

Avatar f tn I always get palpitations but the past week I have been getting them every day all day long on and off. Today I have pains in my chest and my chest feels tight... logic is telling me its just anxiety, Im worried though its something more serious. I know worrying is probably making it worse. Im wondering if what im experiencing can be a sympton of stress and anxiety?
2216810 tn?1420856876 Hi Sophie ,I didn't experience any side effect expect dry mouth and i 'm not sure if heart palpitations are from Lexapro or from anxiety.
Avatar f tn Hi I have severe avoidance and anxiety especially when it comes to unknown situations and people. I was prescribed 10mg Lexapro by my GP to take once a day. But I'm scared to take it :( It probably would help me, because currently I'm unemployed and have been for a long time, and constantly trapped in my head by obessive bad thoughts. And I lack motivation and social skills. Should I take the Lexapro? I'm so scared of side effects. I take .
1287128 tn?1331134538 i am terrified to be on a stimulant because of the palpitations. she started me on lexapro and xanax (ive had xanax as a as needed med for some time, but funny thing about my anxiety is im scared to take pills) anyways i havent started my lexapro because i dont have insurance for another month. but she wants me to take lexapro for three weeks and use the xanax because i guess the lexapro will increase my anxiety the first couple weeks before making it better.....
Avatar f tn After taking the drug I started getting severe heart palpitations. My heart would race then slow down as though it had stopped. I started seeing white, I thought I was going to die. The next day I got up I was still swollen, then decided to take a Benedryl, sure enough my swelling went away immediately. However, I foolishly decided to continue taking the antibiotic just in caset. This time my heart palpitations were worse, with hotness as the heart raced and frigid cold as it slowed down.
Avatar m tn i have taken this for years and never had this effect but just recently aabout a month ago started back on 50 mg of zoloft and i am getting lots of heart palpitations.. going for stress test this month already had echo echo fine couple leaky valves with age but nothing seroius.
475307 tn?1209791613 My mom thinks that my heart palpitations are due to cymbalta (which I am taking for anxiety), which I just started taking a few days ago. Before that, I took lexapro for over two years. I've only been on cymbalta for 10 days and I skipped yesterday because my mom insists that's what's causing my chest pains and heart palpitations. I cried myself to sleep last night and I can't stop crying right now but I have no reason to at all.
Avatar f tn Hi and thank you for you email. I tapered off the Paxil under psychiatrist supervision. I tapered off in 7 days but since I've been feeling so bad with the Lexapro, I'm going to taper off the Lexapro and get back on the 10 mg of Paxil. I hope this truly helps me and that the obsessive thoughts will then go away and if I still have the palpitations which I've still been having with the Lexapro as well, then I'll just take a heart medicine for that. Thank you for your support.
Avatar n tn I have heart palpitations and i have been seeing a dr. I have had a 24 hour monitor on and it only showed a few skips. i have had an echo and they say it looks good. I have a pain every once in awhile adn they said it may be angina. I am on a beta blocker and lexapro for anxiety, since they think it might be it. Lately it has gotten worse.. flipping all the time, sometimes so many times in a row i get dizzy, light headed..
Avatar m tn 5mg I began to have cardiac symptoms, which consisted of mainly palpitations and a racing heart. I have had palpitations for years, and have seen a cardiologist which cleared me. We did an echo, numerous ECG, blood work, event monitor, holter monitor and nothing was shown. On the drug, I had very few cardiac symptoms (took for about 3 years), but one of the reasons why I got on the drug was to alleviate these symptoms which I had before and now afterward.
Avatar f tn I have been told over the years that my palps are stress related, and am on Lexapro, and Xanax used as needed-I have GAD and panic attacks. My palps came back a year ago after being gone for a long time. After an ER visit, where I was put thru blood work, monitors, Chest xrays, etc ( this was about a year and a half ago) I was sent home being told all was fine. Iam pretty much sedentary--my job is an 8 hr desk job-I do come home and do housework--but no exercise on a daily basis.
Avatar n tn I assume you had your heart checked; if your main symptom is palpitations, then a beta blocker might be more appropriate than Lexapro. But if you had a lot of problems and most have gone away, then stick with the Lexapro -- drugs don't cure, they just mitigate the symptoms. You'll always have symptoms unless you find a cure through some kind of therapy work.
402723 tn?1201581886 i live day by day with the need of reasurrance , i have suffered panic attacks for almost three years now, i get bad palpitations and my heart speeds up a little bit, i know is the anxiety but when i get this symptoms more than once a day or two or three days back to back i start thinking of a heart condition, i have had ekgs, holters, an echocardigram, stress test, ct scans of all kinds and all its negative. everything seems to be normal, except that i dont feel so normal.
Avatar m tn My name is Andrew I'm a 20 yr old male with a concern of heart palpitations. My heart history has been mysterious but healthy. When I was younger(about 14) I developed a tachycardia with exercise that has now ceased. I recently visited the cardiologist this past late december. He did a still EKG and an ECHO...he said my heart was healthy and that I have a benign heart murmur. Recently I have been diagnosed with a amxiety disorder and was wondering if these heart palpitations are related.
Avatar m tn Hello again. Last night i was experiencing heart palpitations and was getting some bad head rushes. I figured i should get some sleep. But when i woke up i still have the headrushes and its a constant rush in my head. its agrrivating. Oh and my bp is a steady 120 over 80. no variations there. I figured it might just be in my head but i was curious what you guys thought. I am also a very anxious person and i have had panic attacks before.
Avatar n tn Hello, I started having palpitations throughout the day. So I went to my GP and said I was stressed with school, work, and getting married in a few months and having palps. He gave me a calcium channel blocker and an anti depressant. Didn't know it was an anitdepressant though, he said it would help take down my stress. Later I changed docs because it seemed my palps were getting worse.
Avatar f tn my questions is do i need more tests ....history of palpitations 5 yrs ago on a monitor for a week in hospital..and a 24hr ecg...all test totally normal ..at time of palps my heart just sped up in normal sinus rythem...palps dissapeared to only the occasional flutter... now after havin my baby 1 year ago they have started again... i hav had 3 24hr ecgs.... an echo and numerous resting ecgs and all have been normal with the very occasional supraventriclur ectopic beat ..
Avatar m tn Overall I am starting to feel better everyday, but when I get stressed have been getting some heart palpitations. I was checked out and heart is fine. The other, nearly unmanagable issue is uncontrollable bouts of crying. I cry for every little thing. I broke down in front of my boss today! Not crying from any one specific emotion-could be happy, sad, stressed, frustrated...any emotion will trigger it and once it does the tears just flow.
Avatar f tn I have a history of anxiety diagnosed two years ago that caused chest pain, heart pain, dizziness, feelings of passing out, tingling in hands and feet, shortness of breath, and heart palpitations. I was put on lexapro and wellbutrin. They helped for a little while, but lexapro made me extremely tired. I came down on both lexapro and wellbutrin about a month and a half ago and have been on prozac for the past week.
Avatar m tn i have had panic and pvcs for years and ive been on zoloft (for 10 years and it eventually stopped working) prozac, wellbutrin and lexapro.unfortunately, one of the side effects of lexapro is palpitations and in my case it made them worse.i'm muddling through now on no antidepressants, just some ativan as needed for anxiety. i hope lexapro works for you better than it did for me. and if it doesnt, there are tons of other ssris to try!good luck!
Avatar f tn I just developed PVC's (three or four in one minute) with the flip-flopping feeling you describe. I am currently undergoing tests for my heart. I, too, was extremely concerned and frightened. One of my doctors put me on Lexapro, 10 mg. It is a medication for anxiety/depression. It has helped tremendously. I rarely feel the palpitations now and I feel much calmer. I have read on other sites that worry and stress can make them worse.
Avatar f tn I'm on Lexapro too...it's been about 6 months. I wouldn't say its life changing but it does help. Unfortunately I get heart palpitations which no medication can help with anxiety wise. I just have to deal with them. On the days where I get that chest heaviness your describing I usually take some sort of benzo like valium, ativan, or xanax. I try and take this only once or twice a week and I keep the dose low so I don't become addicted or experience withdrawals.
503607 tn?1275671579 I try not to think about my heart because if I do I will bring on heart papitations I know it is hard but if you just start to do something you enjoy it will take your mind off of your heart.
Avatar m tn They felt really scary as if I was having a heart attack. I was realesed from the E.R. with anxiety and stress palpitations. I dieted and excersised with my usual daily workload until around June 2015. I controlled my chronic "anxiety" episodes with yoga and self coping techniques. During this time I would only eat maybe once a day and skipped alot of meals with exercise. I started losing weight in a very dangerous way. 220lbs to 180lbs in 4 months.
Avatar f tn Although they say there is nothing structurally wrong with my heart, these palpitations are ruining my life.I am always afraid my heart will stop. What should i do?Get more tests?Have my meds adjusted?Do i have to deal with this my whole life? Please help!
