Avatar n tn i read someone's post about it and they said that it's nothing more than an exfoliation. then there's laser resurfacing that i've heard about from my past dermatologists. i've heard that you have to walk around for 6 months with a swollen red face and that afterwards, you may end up with discoloration on your skin and you have to stay away from the sun for a very long time. is all this true? is laser resurfacing sufficient for ridding skin of acne scars? please help.
Avatar n tn I saw a plastic surgeon who offered co2 laser resurfacing and punches for the deeper pitted scars (which I have about a dozen of.) In what order should this be done?I also have lots of blackheads and large pores (on my nose mostly) and I am almost 50. The worst of the the scarring is on my cheeks. He said I could go either way but I want to know what standard procedure is. Also should I have the small pitted scars subscised 1st?
Avatar f tn They recommended(surgeon) that I have laser resurfacing and Obagi cosmetics afterward. I have put it off due to being afraid of laser. What would you recommend as best and second best method of skin treatment for someone my age. Thanks for any input you can give me. The face lift and mid face lift was pretty traumatic for quite some time. I feel I am now healed finally.

Other treatments to consider include microdermabrasion, skin resurfacing lasers and chemical skin peels. Ablative fractional lasers are quite effective for open pores and erbium laser can be done but it may take a week for recovery.

(I don't think the doctor went deep enough on my cheeks) Anyway...I just started using Metrogel and there's no change in my skin tone.

Avatar m tn Is there a way to make my skin smoother and more uniform in texture/make it not as dull? Is laser resurfacing/chemical peel a viable option in a case like this? Attached is a picture of my bare skin though the large bumps on my cheeks aren't easily visible due to flash. I can provide another if necessary: http://i55.tinypic.com/2ef3kow.
Avatar n tn I've heard that hydroquinone is dangerous, and I've heard of arbutin, kojic acid, and many other more natural ingredients, pills, phenol peels, laser treatments, whatever. My desire is to have a nice light golden skin tone like Rihanna, Beyonce, etc (instead of darker brown with golden/yellow undertones, like I am now). Thanks for any help!
