Avatar m tn Hello, To have smooth skin, avoid treating your skin with excessively harsh chemicals and to limit sun exposure. Also use good quality cosmetics and exfoliate your skin regularly. After washing your face with warm water and mild soap like cetaphil, apply a good quality moisturizer. If still the symptoms persist then chemical peeling or laser resurfacing can be done.
Avatar f tn Do not scrub your skin or shave your skin and use a soft towel and gently pat your skin dry. Also use a sunburn Over-The-Counter remedy containing aloe vera and a light moisturizer or a dusting powder to relieve chafing. You can apply silver sulfadiazine (1% cream) on the skin except face and see if it helps. If the symptoms still persist then you should consult a dermatologist and discuss the option of dermabrasion or laser resurfacing.

Avatar f tn They recommended(surgeon) that I have laser resurfacing and Obagi cosmetics afterward. I have put it off due to being afraid of laser. What would you recommend as best and second best method of skin treatment for someone my age. Thanks for any input you can give me. The face lift and mid face lift was pretty traumatic for quite some time. I feel I am now healed finally.
Avatar n tn If so, there are a number of treatments available. One very popular remedy has been laser skin resurfacing which helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, scars, lines and hyper pigmentation surrounding the eyes and mouth. It can also be used to treat areas on the cheeks. Laser resurfacing does not cause as much discomfort, bruising, scaring or bleeding compared to other cosmetic surgery procedures.

Avatar n tn Hi Dr, At the end of July last year I received one session of fraxel laser resurfacing along the orbital rim under both my eyes. I've always had dark circles and badly textured skin there but no puffiness, so this was supposed to be a relatively safe attempt at some form of remedy. I reacted quite badly to the fraxel and had some prolonged brusing and what the doctor told me was inflammation.
Avatar f tn The mark is now more pronounced and noticeable, dark like the color of my lips, and impossible to cover with makeup because of the hole in the skin. Will the skin ever grow back and what can I do about it now or in the future? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Avatar n tn Aside from soaking and gentle exfoliation, frequent moisturization may also help. If not, have this evaluated by your dermatologist. Prescription creams or skin resurfacing techniques may also help. ( Ref: http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn Large pores can be easily dealt with proper cleansing and frequent toning and moisturizing of the skin. Other treatments to consider include microdermabrasion, skin resurfacing lasers and chemical skin peels. In my opinion you should discuss these treatment options with a cosmetologist/dermatologist. 1430704 tn?1306391107 Have you used any new makeup line that might not be suitable for your skin type? Try to think back to what you did when your skin was more balanced. My guess is that you've passed the puberty stage so it's probably something you've done differently in your routine. Simple is usually the best. Don't overload your skin with too many treatments or products. Cleanse once in the morning and once at night. Eat a balanced diet and avoid too many oily or sugary foods.

Avatar m tn While I don't have cystic acne or anything as serious, my skin is very red and has chicken skin-like patches on my cheeks and around my nose and eyes. My skin is very rough, making it look dull (and terrible if i attempt to wear makeup and/or sunscreen). My cheeks have flesh colored pits and bumps that never seem to go away, regardless of the acne products I use. Is there a way to make my skin smoother and more uniform in texture/make it not as dull?
Avatar n tn Hi, Hyperpigmentation Removal treatments are used to eradicate darkened areas of the skin which may result from hormones, sun damage, injuries, skin-type characteristics, medications and more. Hyperpigmentation lesions can be anything from melasma/cholasma often attributed to pregnancy or hormonal imbalances to freckles. There are several creams availale over the counter. They are Hydroquinone 2-4%, Creams containing Azelaic acid or Kojic acid and also Vit A based ointment called Tretinoin.
Avatar m tn Looks like a chicken pox scar. It seems that the collagen or whatever under the skin is gone. Not real deep, but noticeable. Is not the result of any acne or sore, just appeared suddenly. It is about a quarter inch irregular diameter. Now have a smaller section appearing next to it about a year later. Went to a dermatologist who took a sample but found nothing. Any thoughts on this?
Avatar m tn This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them. These indentations which have formed after steroid injections can take upto 6 months to heal and fill in when collages in formed but sometimes it may take longer or less depending on the depth of the indentations and the response of the skin. If they persist then you can get collagen filling and laser resurfacing done.
